Biden considering executive order concerning migration.

by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 8, 2024 3:52 AM |
Wait until after the election, Brick. I fear a good blow might land Joe on his ass.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 8, 2024 3:57 AM |
How much can even be done through executive action, though?
[quote]The unilateral measures under consideration might upset some progressives in Congress, the officials said, but they noted that Democratic mayors who have asked for more help from the federal government to handle the influx of migrants in their cities would be pleased.
Oh, fuck the naysayers, the border needs to be secured. It's such a needless own goal for Dems to have this crap hanging over them heading into election.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 8, 2024 3:59 AM |
The Republican Party is the Party of Capitalists and the Plantation Industrial Big Business Complex.
They do not spend money on regular Americans because money spent on programs for the Middle Class need to be cut and send more money to the already rich through tax cuts.
That is why Infrastructure Week was such a dodge. Under Republicans, money would NEVER be spent on Infrastructure, because the money was better sent to rich people through Tax Cuts. The only thing Trump did was get through his $8T Trump Tax Hoax.
Seeing a pattern?
The Party of Capitalists and the Plantation Industrial Big Business Complex believes it OWNS ALL OF OUR TAX MONEY.
As for Immigration? Immigration is just like Infrastructure. Always coming but never arriving. The Party of Capitalists and the Plantation Industrial Big Business Complex doesn't want to spend money on the poors who are crawling to our border. They cost money and will end up voting for Democrats. No way in hell.
But the Republicans in Congress outed themselves when the failed to support Ukraine. We shall see.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 8, 2024 4:00 AM |
Funny, Trump never did anything to fix the BORDER CRISIS that must NOT be such a crisis since Republicans can wait a year to “fix” it since they killed their own bill that Democrats agreed to. They’ve admitted they WANT TO run on the border. “Fixing” it takes away that issue. I guess fuck all the people dying of fentanyl and all the “criminals” coming in.
#1- the border is NOT in crisis. There are a lot of issues that need addressing. Let’s not pretend most of you border fanatics would care if the migrants were from Sweden or Norway or the UK. NYC was THE migrant destination for how long? They managed to make it work and turned NYC into the most prosperous city in the world.
How much land is empty in this country? How many small towns are dying because people are fleeing them? Also, if Gen X and younger generations want to retire in style, they’re going to need a lot of young people to support them. That ain’t happening with the birth rate alone.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 8, 2024 4:11 AM |
Republicans have so fuuuuuuuucked themselves on the border. They own that shit now. There is no ambiguity on who tanked this. Republicans fucking got 99% of what they wanted. Democrats said fine, give us UKR and Israel and Taiwan, as well. Trump said out loud (my GOD he’s dumb as fuck) to kill it because he wants to run on it and not give President Biden a win. Then, remarkably, other Republicans echoed that. Then even more remarkably, other Republicans were furious their own party threw away the strongest border bill in decades. Democrats are getting the House in ‘25 regardless. They ain’t getting a better deal and they know it.
Republicans own the border issues now lock, stock, and smoking taco trucks.

[quote]Funny, Trump never did anything to fix the BORDER CRISIS
I mean, didn't he set up those concentration camps at the border? And the cages for the kiddies? Technically, that didn't fix the border crisis, but what president has managed to achieve that, anyway.

While very likely losing the Senate. So we'll be exactly where we are right now for two more years, until the midterms.

I love how Trump still thinks he's a player, calling-up politicians and lobbying. He was a failed President and a failed businessman. He's Rudy with more money, addicted to the limelight and applause without any purpose.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 8, 2024 4:53 AM |
The magats still claim the border was tight and sealed when Lump was in office.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 8, 2024 4:56 AM |
No one wants to say it, but the only way to seal the border is either with a wall (doesn't work, the border is too long) or to deploy the troops and shoot on sight anyone who crosses illegally, which would result in a huge domestic and international outcry. Trump or Biden or Nimrata, this issue isn't getting solved anytime soon.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 8, 2024 5:01 AM |
Doing nothing or doing something with the border won't lose any democrats. But if he does issue an executive order to try and do something?
1. He will shut up Fox and the rest of them. At least for a day. And it will effectively kill the issue during the election.
2. He WILL get some moderates and never Trumpers on board. Whether its a fake "crisis" or not? They don't think it is. It will go a long way to assuage those middle of the road voters.
Again, he will not lose anybody already voting for him. So why not? It will make the right look even worse for tanking the border bill simply because idiot Trump wanted them to.
Feels like a win/win to me. Even if it's just a game of tactics.

February 02, 2021 --- U.S. President Joe Biden signed executive orders Tuesday to start to dismantle former President Donald Trump’s restrictive immigration policies
So now Joe wants to reinstate the Trump Executive Orders he thrilled MSNBC but reversing?

r9,
[quote]While very likely losing the Senate.
Biden needs to make this a battle over the Senate.
The Senate Republicans created the corrupt Supreme Court, who reversed Roe.
The Senate Republicans approved all of Trump/McConnell's Supreme Court Justices that reversed Roe.
If Kansas and Ohio can move whole state actions to overcome Roe, then the women in THESE states can get rid of their Republican Senate enablers: Barrasso, John (R-WY), Blackburn, Marsha (R-TN), Braun, Mike REPLACEMENT (R-IN), Cramer, Kevin (R-ND), Cruz, Ted (R-TX), Fischer, Deb (R-NE), Hawley, Josh (R-MO), Romney, Mitt REPLACEMENT(R-UT), Scott, Rick (R-FL), Wicker, Roger F. (R-MS).
The key to getting America back on track is getting rid of Republican Senators.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 8, 2024 11:22 AM |
Biden needs to do something. People are getting really pissed off about the immigrants. This is going to cause the democrats to lose the house, the senate & the white house.
The newest bullshit is that idiot NY Mayor wanting to hand out $1,000 gift cards EVERY SINGLE MONTH to these immigrants. That has enraged democratic voters. The mainstream press refuses to cover it, but people are still reading about it on social media.

Some of you need to step outside of your bubble.
The cages were in place before Trump. They were from the Obama era.
Trump implemented policy that kept asylum seekers in Mexico. It wasn’t 100% foolproof but it was good optics. Biden reversed that.
Trump actually got some wall built. Once again, good optics.
Governor Kathy Hochul (Democrat, NY) is changing law so that illegals can get jobs more quickly.
When Trump is elected POTUS again, it will be because Democrats have not done anything to show they will protect Americans.
It’s tight, but it’s right.

[quote] Governor Kathy Hochul (Democrat, NY) is changing law so that illegals can get jobs more quickly.
You say that like it’s a bad thing. You want them homeless and stealing food to survive? Or do you want them working in slaughterhouses and on farms and doing work you’re too good to do.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 8, 2024 12:23 PM |
[quote]Or do you want them working in slaughterhouses and on farms and doing work you’re too good to do.
This is New York State. The need for massive amounts of illegals is minimal. There is not a big cry for the services they can provide.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 8, 2024 12:50 PM |
Why would they be stealing food? They get meals provided by the government. Anything they are stealing, they're just stealing for the sake of stealing. They already get money every month from the government. NY wants to give them MORE money each month. They don't have any bills. They get a free roof over their head, meals, healthcare, etc, while lots of American children in my city are homeless. The democrats don't give a shit about them. And before you say anything, the republicans don't either. But they don't pretend to care. The democrats do pretend to care, all while only giving a shit about the immigrants.
This kind of thing (caring more about people who've never done a fucking thing for this country) pisses of decent Americans - many who can barely keep a roof over their heads. It REALLY pisses off people who have come to this country legally and had to provide for themselves. They don't like these pieces of shit who are running through the border, crossing illegally, beating up the police, stealing and complaining about not getting enough handouts from the U.S government. Biden is going to lose because of this bullshit. And it is bullshit.
I used to work in pharmacies all over Atlanta. Shoplifting occurs in every store, but the largest amount of shoplifting occurred in the Hispanic areas. Most of our stores in those areas closed because of the shoplifting. That was back in the early 2000s, when times were good. They just like to steal.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 8, 2024 12:57 PM |
R26, I wonder when regular Americans will get fed up with it? I thought they would have enough when they go into a store and have to wait for someone to unlock the cabinet to get a can of shaving cream. But they just keep letting their freedoms slip day by day. What will it take?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 8, 2024 1:06 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 8, 2024 2:10 PM |
[quote]Biden needs to do something. People are getting really pissed off about the immigrants.
Another Trumped up issue because Republicans in Congress are willing to walk away from a compromise in order for Trump to use it as a campaign issue.
Note to Republicans: Once you walk away from a CONSERVATIVE compromise, you make it a CONSERVATIVE issue. It is no longer the "Border Crisis", it is the Republicans not wanting to solve the problem.
Biden will make the Republicans THE ISSUE!
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 8, 2024 5:30 PM |
[quote]Biden will make the Republicans THE ISSUE!
And intelligent people understand that Biden has had four years to solve problems. Maybe in Year 1, he could blame Trump and Republicans, but that excuse no longer works. Everything you now see is Biden policy and Republicans know that.

Biden needs to grow a pair, step back, and step down. Is this seriously just the bumfuck notion of avoiding some bruised egos? This is sheer stupidity. Not just the Rep's, EVERYONE is talking about this. How can the Dem party ignore the obvious outcome of this sure-to-fail strategy? Devise the exit plan, NOW.. If nothing is done, it's over. Anyone that believes otherwise is a moron.
The idea that an exec order to fix the border mess is going to be a coup that will strengthen his doddering, failing Presidency is nothing more than a pipedream. The nightmare reality come January '25 of awakening every day knowing a disaster inhabits the oval office is fucking with my head. Biden must go, so figure it out, NOW.
