It’s possible that Joe would have done more PR before s2 but things in the works were cancelled because of the strikes. Kit had a lot more coverage, but also had a more flexible schedule in the spring to do interviews and photo shoots earlier.

Someone also recently made the point that Bake Off would have been set but by Joe’s PR not his agent. Don’t know if that’s true. But I definitely see Joe being more exited to do Bake Off than an editorial if given a choice between the two.

I still agree that Joe needs to up his team. Maybe he’ll keep his UK team but then get a second publicist/stylist/etc that is US based. I definitely expect Marvel to set up a lot of press for Agatha. But if s3 and Agatha are coming out close together, his own PR should be able to leverage both together for even more coverage.

It wasn’t until after Kit came out that he blew up and became part of a larger conversation. So his larger coverage around s2 makes a lot of sense. People weren’t asking him about s2, they were asking him about coming out.

I do think Joe will get more coverage when s3 comes out because he’ll be doing cross promotion with Agatha. But that doesn’t mean he couldn’t benefit from a better team.

Loop it back to Charlie's S3 arc involving a growth in confidence, easy-peasy.

But they've also mentioned him as a leader or guide of sorts because he had the most experience when they all started working together in S1. They all talk about it as though he still 100% treated them equally and was very kind and patient with them, but I imagine that created a shift where they were never going to quite see him as the baby.

Tangentially, there's that cute anecdote about how their castmates knew the show would be good as soon as Joe and Kit started performing during S1 read-throughs. It would seriously be the smartest thing to release physical media with that behind the scenes stuff people would eat up. The S2 read-through video is famous to this day.

Joe and Kit would often call themselves similar to their characters in S1 press, so while they were filming, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone was affectionately protective of Joe in the same way S1 has everyone affectionately protective of Charlie. Rewatching S1 is funny because there are a few moments where Charlie just makes big Bambi eyes at another character and the other character instantly folds and gives him what he wants. The power.
