The blonde child actress with the unusual voice and perfect diction (which must have pleased TV dad Tony Randall) turned 65 on January 4th. Happy Birthday, senior citizen Pamelyn!
February 4th, thank you!! Oops.
Forgive me, Pamelyn!

Welcome to My Website! It’s no exaggeration to say that if you watched television at all in the 1960s or 1970s you must have seen me. Maybe you didn’t know my name, but you knew my face, and if you couldn’t place the face, you surely knew my voice.
For the greater part of a decade I was the busiest child actress in Hollywood. There were times when I was the busiest actor of any age. I performed in more than 200 television episodes, over 40 feature films and made-for-TV movies, and more than 300 television commercials, nearly all of them before I was out of my teens.

Because of That Voice. You would never forget it once you heard it, even if you didn't know the name of the child actress who produced it.

She had a great voice. As a young gay lad I wanted her voice.

Pamelyn appeared in the creepy 70s classic [italic]The Beguiled[/italic]. On her site you can see an image from the production in which she is sitting underneath a tree with Clint Eastwood. That scene is pretty shocking-- Pamelyn was only 11 when she made the film, and during the scene in question Eastwood kisses her on the mouth in a disturbingly adult way, which wasn't in the script. Her dismayed reaction as captured on camera was real.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 6, 2024 5:36 AM |
I hope she quietly told him, "No tongues..."
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 6, 2024 6:16 AM |
R42, the IMDb version:
"Pamelyn Ferdin, who was 11 during filming, said in a 1995 interview that Clint Eastwood kissing her to keep her from screaming when she sees troops passing by was a total surprise. She wasn't expecting it because it wasn't in the script. He was supposed to just cover her mouth. She found out later that director Don Siegel told Eastwood to do it because it would be more provocative. She said they used the first take because her stunned expression, which was real, was perfect."
If they used the first take, that means they did it again, right?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | February 6, 2024 5:38 PM |
Always thought she sounded like an old women when she talked. Now she is an old woman.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 6, 2024 5:44 PM |

Does anyone remember her as the daughter of Ray Milland in Daughter of the Mind? Don Murray was also in it. She was a dead girl whose spirit was used in a Soviet plot or something.

I paid Susan Olsen a dollar to kick her in the cuntbone.

She was unavoidable when I was a kid, guesting on everything. She was awkward looking and had that horrible voice. She still has it, along with bad plastic surgery.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 7, 2024 11:39 PM |
She sure makes a big deal of her 3 appearances on The Odd Couple.

The scene from "The Beguiled."
Disturbing, to say the least.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 8, 2024 11:56 AM |
Daughter of the Mind must have been a pilot vehicle for Don Murray, maybe an early Sixth Sense or something. Don had just had a failed ABC Western where his co-star was a black man, and apparently even after I Spy, the network had no faith in it, though it was supposely critically praised.

She was an LA kid, you could tell by the way she talked. Like the way all the child actors from LA pronounced their vowels. A little like Valley-speak.

by Anonymous | reply 77 | February 9, 2024 3:15 AM |

She talked like these two chicks on Dragnet at 10:35. The way the girl says "down", and that nasal way of talking.

for some reason she reminds me of Woody Allen.

Costarred with Other Most Obnoxious Child Actress Laurie Prange in Night Gallery ep "Brenda".
Compensating factor: Glenn Corbett: kind of wooden actor, but he didn't have to act well. All he had to do was just stand there so you could DROOL over him.

Pamelyn Ferdin Alert: 'What's the Matter with Helen' is on Turner Classic Movies on Saturday, March 30 at 12:30AM (in the morning, no less), co-starring Shelly Winters and Debbie Reynolds(!). Script commissioned from novelist Henry Farrell, whose story for What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) had given rise to the genre. Hope it's on demand later as I don't have a DVR.

" Privately, I didn't want the part and hoped I wouldn't get it. The level of violence and sexual content in the script (part of my interview included shouting out obscenities from a list) was something I was very uncomfortable with. Ironically, Linda Blair, who was marvelous in the role, once confessed she wanted to be in Disney movies and on Lassie."
