'Ratched' is DEAD to me

As shitty as it was, I liked it enough to want to see a season 2. I'm a bit bummed.

I couldn't find a way to see but wanted to because Judy Davis is in it.

I don’t remember much about the actual series, but I do remember a still of the series with Sharon Stone dressed like Gloria Swanson with a monkey on her shoulder.

A show promising that level of camp can be anywhere from awesome to terrible, but it should never be unmemorable. Ratched was.

Very disappointing waste of Corey Stoll's talents, and even more, his hot body.

Good. Just another movie/film where 'wokes' are trying to 'rehabilitate' evil women's images, fictional or real.

I just remember the costumes being so out of this world that people were bitching about the fact that a nurse could never afford to dress like that. Set design was outstanding as well. It's the writing that was kinda shit.

Netflix makes yet another shitty decision. Shocking.

R5 Maleficent was an earlier example of this. Except it was done because it was purely a vanity project for Angelina Jolie rather than for the sake of feminism and progression.

It was beyond terrible.

Housing a murderer in the basement of a mental hospital?

The director of the mental hospital (a doctor) gets killed and a nurse starts running the place without the presence of a single doctor?

. Sarah Paulson was fine, but Sophie Okonedo and Judy Davis owned this show and knew how to tap into the camp as well as the pathos.

This show was beyond cheesy and embarrassing. Tacky, loud, pastiche paced like a cartoon, and full of ridiculous characters spouting bullshit dialogue.

Talk about a show without a reason to exist. What a POS.

The weird thing was, they invested a lot in the premiere ep, directed by Ryan. Special effects and things.

The next ep, there was an obvious drop-off in look. They spent a lot less money.

I mean, typically they aspire to make the look of a show consistent throughout the run.

I watched the entire season and the only thing I can remember is how awful Cynthia Nixon was.

This guy may look like a total cliche but his analysis is better.

Lispy Sarah needs to get a real job

Like most of Murphy's Netflix output, it was awful. Considering it was originally announced as a two season pick-up, it must have *really* tanked with viewers for them to not have even bothered with the second season. Even The Politician, which was also a dud, at least completed its initial two season deal.

How does Sarah Paulson keep getting work? She’s dreadful. She’s always Sarah Paulson in heavy makeup. Who is she related to?

She was too old, and miscast.

I wish they wouldn't have gone so gothic and over-the-top for this show. Louise Fletcher's performance was all about restraint. She made you wonder what was really going on behind Ratched's mechanical affect.

Finn Wittrock, Brandon Flynn or Charlie Carver?

The character of Nurse Ratched changed every episode depending on what the story needed. It had the worst writing of any Ryan Murphy show, imo

Dahmer was his parting gift to Netflix, an apology for what came before, including Ratched.

It's all been shit, particularly in the writing.

Ryan Murphy - Lavish set designs, second rate camp, softcore gay porn, excessive violence, stunt casting, numerous historical inaccuracies (who can forget Marilyn Monroe still being alive in 1963 in AHS: Double Feature - Death Valley?) and very little logic and decent writing. Successful hack is quite the oxymoron.

Woah that was a shock exit for Sharon.

It was announced last week that she was returning to AHS season 13. I don't know why she doesn't do any other TV projects.

Finished it. That was better than I expected. I've never gotten through any of the American Horror Stories. I really liked the long scene between Sarah and Cynthia when Sarah confesses her lesbian love.

It was one of the most poorly-written Ryan Murphy series I've seen.
