They are filming now. Any ideas on season 2? Looks like it’s the same cast. (I suspected that they might make it a sort of anthology after the first season.)
An anthology OP? They left too many open questions and mysteries to be answered, don’t you think?

Is Patricia Arquette on the good or bad side? That is what I would like to know. Was she working to bring down Lumon on her own and others were getting in the way. There are certain moments in the first season where it would seem to suggest she is trying to undermine the work being done.

R2? Watch is again. She's a Lumon "true believer."

I know R3, I watched it closely. But there was that point when she was getting updates that Mark did not recognize his wife as his therapist and she seemed disappointed by it, when that was considered a Lumon Success. She kept pushing Mark to meet with her in hopes there might be some consciousness of his wife on his part, but there wasn't. She is really focused on him, even to the point of living next to him. And it's not just to make sure he stays on track. It's to monitor what he is aware of and if Lumon seems to be falling apart like one could infer she hopes to happen. There are just little bread crumbs sprinkled throughout the story which could suggest she could go either way.

I think you're overthinking it, R4 -- but hopefully, we'll find out soon!
Does anybody know if they're making any progress toward getting S2 out there?

I didn’t have the patience to finish S1.

Never heard of it. Where and what's the plot?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 31, 2024 2:44 PM |
No, there were clues dropped that Patricia Arquette was 100% Lumon. It's been so long since I've seen it, but I do remember it wasn't 100% clear. It was purposefully left open - especially when she gets fired.

I like r4’s take on it. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Thank you, R9. I downloaded it from one of my usual places, but it was originally on Apple +. And I actually have watched it four times (so far), so the nuances of which you speak must have escaped me...or not.

It's been so long since it's been out. I will have to re-watch it, just like the rest of the shows on the apps. They take a long time, unlike network TV that just has summer hiatus.

Grand Central had a cute Lumon installation this week.

OK -- exactly what I feared: the first episode is shit. Drawn out, boring, and makes no sense -- in a bad way.
Sophomore jinx strikes again!

Gwendoline Christie's leader of Mammalians (Nurturable) resembles a gone-to-seed Faye Dunaway.

Adam Scott has turned into Tig Notaro.

This was the only thread I could find for Severance.
No one seems to care about it. I guess mostly because it's on AppleTV+ which almost no one has.
Season 2 started off decently but it seems to have taken a dive off a cliff. The recent Cobel centred episode was awful - dragged out beyond belief - much like the show in general.
Plus Adam Scott's character is a massive cunt. I know we're meant to care about him reintegrating and reuniting with his wife, but he's so whiny I might cheer if he fails in his endeavours.
