by Anonymous | reply 76 | May 5, 2025 1:24 PM |
Read this yesterday.
This man's a fucking idiot, and should be disqualified from voting due to glaring mental retardation. He demonstrates ZERO understanding of policy, governance, economics, or civic values, yet he still talks out of both sides of his mouth to justify his idolatry of Trump.
"America needs Law and Order! Criminals need to be thrown in jail!"
So what about prosecuting Trump for his crimes?
"Oh, not THAT much law and order! He's innocent, but all those Blacks who riot in Portland are guilty!"

He's a guy who wants to believe what he wants to believe and eventually finds a way to do it. People tend to fixate on what a candidate they can imagine will deliver what they want.
I wish the writer had probed deeper on what this guy thinks ails America, to bring it out into broad daylight. The writer pushed a little, but the interview got away with alot.

No. After Trump won, we had to suffer through four fucking years of endless articles that tried to capture what it is that actually ails deplorables. Enough. Nothing ails these people, they're just fucking deplorable.

He has 92 indictments. Courts are doing fine. Immunity protected him initially and pardon power protects all POTUSes still.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 23, 2024 5:09 PM |
^pardon power was referring to Trump being in office and being able to buy his henchmen’s silence by floating pardons. Point being that those pardon powers should be reformed. Now Trump can regroup and re-employ his supervillains.

I've posted this before, but this is the best explanation I've seen of what's going on here.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 23, 2024 5:34 PM |
In actuality, it's Trumpers who are broken not America.
For real and imagined reasons, those are broken people. Unlike the rest of us, they've refused to get up, to move on, to get help. They're not resilient. They stew in their hurts and plot revenge instead of working towards something better. They look at acceptance and inclusivity and it infuriates them, as they know they're reviled (because of their own actions).
No one wants to be them, except for other scumbags which makes them despondent in their hearts. Instead of taking the hand that is extended towards them --asking them to come with us to the future-- they spit in the face of progress and change. It has to be their way or nothing. Their way or they'll burn it all.
"Why not me? Why not us? Why not just as we are?"
Because you're hateful. Because to make things better, we all have to change. Because we've all left behind things about ourselves as we've moved forward, you just refuse to see it because all you can see it what you want to see.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 23, 2024 5:44 PM |
Interesting I think the one point you are missing is that people leaning towards this ideological realm make up likely about 50% of the voters in this country right now. Instead of resorting to high school ridicule, blanket condemnation based upon the fact the guy is white and heterosexual and accusations of low IQ/alcohol abuse, wouldn't it be more productive to have conversation of how he got to these feelings? Side note, people with low emotional intelligence tend to come out of the gate judgmental, resorting to Middle School insults, etc. Many people on both polar ends of the political spectrum exhibit this behavior. Those of us in the middle need to step up call these people out and open the window for discussion before it's too late.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 23, 2024 5:47 PM |
He himself won’t discuss “how [he] got those feelings,” and it’s not my job to coax some grown-ass man into overcoming his life challenges. He’s 58. He’s missed the boat. As the poster above said, these are the people who are un-help-able.
If I had to guess, I’d say his problem is racism. He dwells on border issues a lot. He has that “why are we helping brown people, nobody ever helped my PWT self” mentality.

George Conway:
This is perhaps the most illuminating thing I’ve ever read about Trump𝙞𝙨𝙢, as opposed to Trump himself.
This New Hampshire GOP voter is angry. But he doesn’t really know 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 he’s angry about. He 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨 to be angry. He 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 know 𝙬𝙝𝙤𝙢 he is angry at—the people who he thinks run the country and who he thinks think themselves better than he. He wants to harm them, even if it harms him, and even if it harms the country—indeed, 𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 if it harms the country, because he thinks harming the country is the best way to harm the people he wants to harm.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 23, 2024 9:42 PM |
Trump supporters fall into four main categories. Some fall into more than one.
1 Christian Nationalists
2 Hardcore Republican Tribalism
3 The Deluded and/or Brainwashed
4 Anarchists who believe the government and the system need to be destroyed and remade in their own twisted idea of a new government and its laws.

by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 23, 2024 9:48 PM |

He’s worthy of scorn, and pity, and a fresh diaper, but little else.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 23, 2024 10:09 PM |
I disagree R30. A fully lawless Trump is a loose cannon. Lower taxes and deregulation are hardly a given with Trump anymore. He may decide to seize corporations. Perhaps an extreme example, but he’s emboldened, and beholden, to whom we don’t yet know.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 23, 2024 10:12 PM |
That’s part of the point R33. If people like the subject of this article are help up as the typical Trump supporter, it illuminates to many some of what’s wrong with being a Trump supporter. Trump is no longer an unknown quantity and won’t get the benefit of the doubt (how bad can he be?) this time around

It's not about what he has, R40. It's what he feels others are *not* entitled to have or not have. And how he ought to be the one to get to decide that as it's always been. Because he feels he and those he sees who are like him [Trump] losing the power to decide who is entitled to have or have not, he's pissed.
So he's desperate for it to go back to how it was or else everything has to be destroyed.

I just read OP's linked article and it's horrifying. I don't think this person ever had any intention of voting for Hayley. The story said he has already voted for Dump twice - but before that he voted for Obama!
What worries me most is what if Dump runs and loses the election again. What will they do this time?
What does "our system needs to be broken" mean? There are no details in the story about what this would entail.

I'm glad his brother recognized what an awful human being he has become over the past few years and the relationship has fractured/ended.
I wish I could kidnap Johnson, have him stripped down to his shorts, stand in front of a mirror and actually look at himself... in all his fat and bloated, flaccid glory. And then he should have to look at himself in a mirror and say, "I, a retired Lt. Colonel of the US Army support Vladimir Putin and his unlawful invasion of Ukraine." and "I, a retired Lt. Colonel from the US Army support a five-time draft deferred draft dodger." And then repeat those phrases on camera for the world to see. And then to his wife he should ghave to say, "I wish I could grab pussy the way Donald Trump does, because that really gets me off."

R23 Americans like this guy "got to those feelings" after a lifetime of shitty choices and shitty behaviors.
They bullied their gay sons, and now their gay sons don't visit them at Christmas.
They chose football and beer in high school, and flunked out of community college, and now their job is being done by an immigrant or a robot.
They smoke, drank, and ate bacon sandwiches, and now they're too fat to fit in an airplane seat. But that's all the fault of the vegans.
They scorned books and the people who read them, and think anyone who goes near a library is a child molester or an egghead wimp. But those eggheads are the doctors keeping them alive and the lawyers keeping them out of prison.
They stuck around dying towns "for family reasons," and now have no viable jobs.
They blame their lot in life on uppity women, queers, Mexicans, and A-rabs. Also, more than a few blame it on the Jews.
And along comes shithead Donald Trump, king of the deadbeats, to say "Don't cry, losers! You can be just like me! I'm a billionaire with a gold toilet and a whore for a wife! Make me your king, and I'll give you the respect you deserve (but bafflingly, never bothered to earn)!"

But whose fault is that, hillbilly?
by Anonymous | reply 66 | January 25, 2024 2:53 AM |
R64: Has advanced degrees and figured Hillary was going to blow it well before the election. Sanders time as a candidate forced her to talk about issues and define herself, but it was still insufficient. R66: seems like the illiterate one. and a snob, on top of it.
