Our dear Jacob in bell bottoms 🥵

Who is a director who would be great to film a 70s period piece? They need to cast Our dear Jacob in a role. He is perfect for 1970s period pieces on an aesthetic level. Granted he is perfect for any time period aesthetically.

I've never heard of him.

by Anonymousreply 1January 21, 2024 5:54 PM

I like Jacob but he looks way too thin these days. Has he become a coke fiend since finding his LA "it boy" life?

by Anonymousreply 2January 21, 2024 5:55 PM

How many more flops can this himbo endure?

by Anonymousreply 3January 21, 2024 5:57 PM

R3 neither Priscilla or Saltburn have been viewed as flops. They were both tiny budget films, especially Priscilla.

by Anonymousreply 4January 21, 2024 5:59 PM

Nobody fucking asked you to chime in with your usual wrong information.

by Anonymousreply 5January 21, 2024 6:02 PM

he reminds me of cary grant.

he can do a homo film about that scott guy.

by Anonymousreply 6January 21, 2024 6:06 PM

This nothing is no Cary Grant, R6, FFS.

by Anonymousreply 7January 21, 2024 6:08 PM

At first I misread the thread title as “Oh Dear, Taco Bell Bottoms.”

by Anonymousreply 8January 21, 2024 6:09 PM

old, ugly & bitter, r7?

You don't become the new king when neither of your films can gross even $20m at the box office.

by Anonymousreply 11January 21, 2024 6:23 PM

lol, r8

by Anonymousreply 12January 21, 2024 6:24 PM

No bulge. Why won't he give us what we want?

by Anonymousreply 13January 21, 2024 6:29 PM

R6 yes!!! He would be great casting for Grant only he’s too tall

by Anonymousreply 14January 21, 2024 6:32 PM

Those pants make his legs look like matchsticks — not a sexy look for a guy OP is trying to promote as a major new star and sex symbol.

He needs to eat more and bulk up.

by Anonymousreply 15January 21, 2024 6:33 PM

R10 I hope he puts back on the weight he had when he filmed Saltburn and did that GQ spread. He looked PERFECT. ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. I hope him having to lose so much weight for that WWII series doesn’t have a permanent effect on his face. Good thing is he’s still young so things can snap back easily still

by Anonymousreply 16January 21, 2024 6:34 PM

he was WAY too tall for elvis. grant was tall and lanky...right?

by Anonymousreply 17January 21, 2024 6:35 PM

R11 again, both are considered hits. And yes, they are despite you continuing to say otherwise. Priscilla was a micro budget film. And yes, it was.

by Anonymousreply 18January 21, 2024 6:35 PM

Saltburn earned more worldwide than Promising Young Woman, another film deemed a hit with $18 million globally.

by Anonymousreply 19January 21, 2024 6:37 PM

[quote] R11 again, both are considered hits. And yes, they are despite you continuing to say otherwise. Priscilla was a micro budget film. And yes, it was.

You've proven time and again you don't know shit about anything. It was laughable, but at this point it's just humiliating for you.

by Anonymousreply 20January 21, 2024 6:37 PM

R20 mimicking what we tell you all the time doesn’t work when you are the wrong that is ALWAYS wrong and redtagged lmao

by Anonymousreply 21January 21, 2024 6:38 PM

I like the look of flared pants, bell bottoms, what have you, on women.

But, even though anything would look good on Elordi, I still think men, including him, should stick to classic straight width.

And no human alive looks good in skinny pants, jeggings, leotards unless they're jeans and you're wearing them tucked into tall shafted boots.

by Anonymousreply 22January 21, 2024 7:03 PM

He has the hips of a prepubescent girl.

by Anonymousreply 23January 21, 2024 7:12 PM

He is perfect. Only our dear Paul can rival him.

by Anonymousreply 24January 21, 2024 8:35 PM

For having the oddest faces of any leading men in Hollywood today. Of course, next to someone like Adam Driver, they're male supermodels.

by Anonymousreply 25January 21, 2024 8:44 PM

Only Jacob is conventionally hot. He’s the definition of a “babe”.

Why punish someone with 70’s “fashion”? I lived through it, don’t want to see any of it, except maybe from Halston, ever again.

[quote][R3] neither Priscilla or Saltburn have been viewed as flops. They were both tiny budget films, especially Priscilla.

Regardless of its budget, any film that does not make a profit is a bomb.

Those two films definitely qualify.

And it's even worse that they couldn't recoup their small budgets.

by Anonymousreply 28January 21, 2024 9:17 PM

R28 idk about Saltburn but Priscilla definitely did.

by Anonymousreply 29January 21, 2024 9:21 PM

Priscilla cost $10 million to make. It’s earned $27 million at the box office.

by Anonymousreply 30January 21, 2024 9:23 PM

He's goofy tall. Plus his face looks extremely deformed, especially from certain angles.

by Anonymousreply 31January 21, 2024 9:24 PM

This is what “deformed” looks like.

Wikipedia says its budget was $20 million.

Wanna know what’s funny about r34. If you read the other thread he accuses others of not knowing what they’re talking about when he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Priscilla’s box office was deemed successful. Movies like Priscilla are never expected to make a lot.

R34 that’s an inflated number. Anyone can post on Wikipedia.

The budget was so small that Coppola debated on making a raffle to a Jacob Elordi pickleball game to raise money. They didn’t give her much money.

What a weird looking guy.

by Anonymousreply 37January 21, 2024 9:56 PM

They don't specify in the articles at R35 and R36 what the "low budget" was, but $20 million is considered low budget in Hollywood, especially in this day and age.

A lot of indie films cost around that much.

The fact is, if a movie cost $20 million to make and has only grossed $27 million, then it has definitely NOT recouped nor been profitable and is a bomb.

Even if, say, its budget was only $10 million, well, then you'll also need to include the promotional costs, which is usually double the budget.

by Anonymousreply 38January 21, 2024 9:57 PM

The face of a sloth, with an ass that's just as flat.

by Anonymousreply 39January 21, 2024 10:09 PM

The sum, alas, is not as great as its parts.

by Anonymousreply 40January 21, 2024 10:24 PM

He’s a beauty but needs to gain back the weight.

by Anonymousreply 41January 22, 2024 10:48 AM

Bell bottom must never return.

by Anonymousreply 42January 22, 2024 11:28 AM

What happened to the Jacob lover?

by Anonymousreply 43March 1, 2024 2:15 AM

R9 It was someone who knows what Cary Grant was like. Let's not let that get in the way of bad casting, though!

by Anonymousreply 44March 1, 2024 2:25 AM

R42 Too late.

by Anonymousreply 45March 1, 2024 2:25 AM

He looks like Mackenzie Phillips in the opening credits of One Day at a Time.

Not a lot of actors can play Elvis and Cary Grant. What about JFK? JFK Jr.? John Wilkes Booth?

by Anonymousreply 47March 1, 2024 2:41 AM

[quote] Bell bottom must never return.

I wore them, to great acclaim, at a recent '70s party. They fit my frame very well. A bell bottoms revival is long overdue.
