The expression is emblematic of the most indifferent, self-absorbed, cell phone addicted generation in human history, although I'm not 100% sure they're human.

Millennials do care about the future and future generations. It's the two generations before them where the problems in this country went wrong.

Some people don’t care, but there’s meat enough for everyone. If you enjoy rose-tinted optimism, there are plenty who TRULY believe things will somehow improve in the US. There’s also plenty of people either actively laughing at the boastful imperfection of humanity, or actively working to destroy the world around them. Things are the same boring way they’ve been for thousands of years.

The US isn't the only place where this is happening, nor is it the only country to experience millennials vs boomers. This video explains much of the situation in Korea and how it is very similar to the US.
