Los Angeles Innocence Project takes up Scott Peterson's Murder Case

WTF?!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 19, 2024 3:37 AM |
Is Momma on the board of the Innocence Project now?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 19, 2024 3:41 AM |
The Innocence Project was co-founded by Barry Scheck, one of O.J.’s “dream team” lawyers, so why is this a surprise?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 19, 2024 3:43 AM |
I’m innocent! Bitch deserved it! Stupid frau!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 19, 2024 3:51 AM |
Waiting for Ben Affleck to play Scott Peterson in a biopic.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 19, 2024 3:54 AM |
He basically already did in "Gone, Girl"
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 19, 2024 3:57 AM |
The ""LA Innocence Project" has nothing to do with the Innocence Project.
Nada.
Zero.
Zilch.
The entire thing is a stunt to make the Innocence Project look bad.
It's working, of course.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 19, 2024 4:07 AM |
Omg r7, thank you for the clarification, I was utterly horrified to read this thread. If there is anyone who does not deserve free lawyers, it’s this convicted double murderer.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 19, 2024 4:52 AM |
I do think Scott Peterson killed his wife.
However, I've watched several true crime shows about the trial. Not much evidence, really. IIRC, the boat didn't contain any evidence that Laci had been in the boat (before she was dumped into the ocean).
I think Scott Peterson's sister-in-law (wife of his brother) has been heavily advocating for him to get out of jail.
I think she's in love with Scott.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 19, 2024 5:19 AM |
The Innocence Project is a scam. They’re revolting.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 19, 2024 5:22 AM |
R7, Not true. Barry Scheck of the Innocence Project N.Y. has fully endorsed the L.A. Innocence Project, which is part of the “Innocence Network.”
“The collaboration between the Los Angeles Innocence Project and Cal State LA’s California Forensic Science Institute is like no other in the country,” said Barry Scheck, who co-founded the New York-based national Innocence Project. “I hope it will serve as a model for future collaborations between innocence organizations and scientists, because it will not only impact our ability to uncover cases where faulty forensics were responsible for wrongly convicting people in the past, it will help improve our ability to accurately assess and scrutinize the reliability of forensic evidence used in courtrooms today.”
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 19, 2024 5:47 AM |
Cal State LA is [italic]the[/italic] teacher-churning factory of Southern California.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 19, 2024 5:53 AM |
R9 There is enough evidence. I read the transcripts of the trial.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 19, 2024 6:10 AM |
I remember the days when Larry King would cover the Scott Peterson trial every night. There was lots of drama between the guests: Nancy Grace, Kimberly Guilfoyle (then Newsom), pretty boy defense attorney Chris Pixley, Mark Geragos, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 19, 2024 7:44 AM |
Nothing good ever happens in Modesto!
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 19, 2024 7:57 AM |
Anybody who thinks he's innocent is a completely mentally deficient person, devoid of logical and probable reason, means, capabilities and motives, given the evidence.
It's all there. Fucking, duh. Why is this even still a question? He didn't want her or a baby, wanted the hot, new young thing, lied to all of them about it. And kept it up during the ruse of trying to find her.
She died and wound up in the bay after he went fishing after a a week or so. Their bodies bobbed to the surface because of the gas of decomposition. Otherwise they would have never been found.
It's not some complicated mystery on a Nightline show. It's pretty fucking obvious.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 19, 2024 8:00 AM |
Next up, Chris Watts.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 19, 2024 8:46 AM |
Good luck with that.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 19, 2024 8:48 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 19, 2024 8:54 AM |
If he wasn't a good-looking white guy no one would pay him any attention.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 19, 2024 8:56 AM |
Too bad they couldn't get that cutie Richard Ramirez out of prison before he died.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 19, 2024 10:07 AM |
Didn't he get fat in prison?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 19, 2024 8:23 PM |
He sure has a nice fat ass.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 19, 2024 8:25 PM |
Not this motherfucker again!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 19, 2024 8:28 PM |
I suggest Scott Peterson and Christ Watts start an Onlyfans account to do content together. They’d make a shit ton of money.

by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 19, 2024 8:58 PM |
I'd forgotten he was moved off death row.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 19, 2024 10:03 PM |
R27 Is the Mexican boarder hot though? I’d kill my hair too in order to take away his innocents!
[R27] Is the Mexican boarder hot though? I’d kill my hair too in order to take away his innocents!
Shit, you guys -- It's "innocence," not innocents.
And "border," not "boarder"! A boarder is someone who rents a room in your house.
Get it together.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 20, 2024 4:43 AM |
All the intelligent eldergays of DL have died off. There are more younger dlers than we thought.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 20, 2024 6:04 AM |
Innocents, R27?
Oh, deazzzzzzzzzzz
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 20, 2024 6:09 AM |
Thanks to R27, my innocents has dyed.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 20, 2024 8:24 AM |
I don't trust the "innocence project". As mentioned upthread, Barry Scheck is involved in it, and I believe some iteration of it was always pulling for guilty motherfucker Adnan Syed to get out. They probably also cape for Steven Avery.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 22, 2024 12:47 AM |
And HBO and co. help by letting them produce propaganda series for their clients.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 22, 2024 2:23 AM |
Wait just a minute...I was calling for an obviously guilty innocent murderer to be released from prison first!

by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 6, 2024 2:19 PM |
Into WHAT, R37?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 6, 2024 2:55 PM |
The Scott/Lacey Peterson saga was DL at it's finest. Those threads were great. I can't decide if my favorite defense was, Not guilty by reason of being hot or Not guilty because no hot guy should be stuck with a frau or the people who actually were taking it all seriously.

by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 6, 2024 3:05 PM |
Scott Peterson is guilty, guilty, GUILTY. No question about it.
I like the Innocence Project and what they do. I have no idea why they have any interest in this guilty murderer.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 6, 2024 3:22 PM |
Like all reasonable Dataloungers, I will need a current photo of Scott, preferably full body, to determine his guilt or innocence.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 6, 2024 4:42 PM |
R6 Have you ever seen the film? I don’t want to ruin the plot but I’m guessing you haven’t.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 6, 2024 4:47 PM |
You know was it ever confirmed HOW she was killed. Like what trauma did he exert on her. I know he killed her. I just never remember how.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 6, 2024 4:49 PM |
Yeah I have always been torn on this. He clearly killed her but we don't even know how, with that in mind, it's hard to impose the death penalty. Also, those two asshole "stealth" jurors were so clearly there with an agenda. I was shocked it wasn't a mistrial. His weird ass sis in law is in love with him though, another Rabia/Adnan type thing.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 6, 2024 5:01 PM |
The timeline makes me a bit uncomfortable.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 6, 2024 5:45 PM |
I don't support the death penalty. Life in prison, no parole, that'll do.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 6, 2024 6:31 PM |
by Anonymous | reply 51 | March 6, 2024 3:17 AM |
I fully support the death penalty. Hang him high.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | March 6, 2024 3:34 AM |
At least he got rid of that child support problem.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | March 6, 2024 5:48 AM |
I support the Innocence Project but they're off their rockers with Scott fucking Peterson.
Guilty. Guilty. Guilty. In this case, the usual Datalounge Guilt/Innocence Evaluation Process does not apply because he's just hugely fucking guilty.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | March 9, 2024 10:46 PM |
He was kind of cute 20 years ago.
INNOCENT!
by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 9, 2024 10:57 PM |
There have to be dozens of people more worthy of support from the Innocence Project than Scott Peterson.
Which one of you bitches is my mother, er, works for the LA Innocence Project and thinks he's innocent because he's hot.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | March 9, 2024 11:07 PM |
This is disgusting. There is no new evidence that would justify this.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | March 9, 2024 11:16 PM |
R55, I'm sorry but in this case you have been overruled.
In the case of slimy Scott Peterson:
GUILTY.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | March 9, 2024 11:19 PM |
R55, After meeting Scott for the first time, Laci’s mother told Laci that Scott had a nice ass.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | March 9, 2024 11:42 PM |
But R59 she also said it couldn't live forever..
by Anonymous | reply 60 | March 9, 2024 11:45 PM |
Eww, R59, whose Mother does that? Never mind, it's tacky and still no excuse for Scott murdering his preggo wife.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 9, 2024 11:46 PM |
Here's what I think happened. She found out he was having an affair. They argued heatedly. Maybe she hit him and he hit her. Or pushed her. She fell and banged her head and died. I do not think he ever intended to kill her. But he did. So he panicked and he wrapped her up and threw her in the ocean, concocting a story about how she must have been kidnapped. Where he lost sympathy...if he ever had any, is when first the public finds out about his affair, and second, that he was on his way to Mexico with money, dyed hair and a fake beard, and an ill thought out escape plan. Maybe he doesn't deserve to be on death row, but he should definitely be in prison.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | March 10, 2024 12:11 AM |
I walked so sexy Scotty could run!
by Anonymous | reply 63 | March 10, 2024 12:12 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 64 | March 10, 2024 12:18 AM |
If all the wives who "accidentally" died from falls in the bath, falls down the stairs, falls that hit table corners, etc etc, were real, there would be more room in our prisons and fewer insurance payouts to the grieving husbands and their girlfriends.

No one who spends any time on DL could possibly be this naive.
J'accuse.

Am I the only one who kept getting Scott and Laci Peterson mixed up with Drew and Stacey Peterson?
by Anonymous | reply 67 | March 10, 2024 5:20 AM |
R65 try telling that to the police!
by Anonymous | reply 68 | March 10, 2024 5:35 AM |
I think the innocence project made this decision, because like the rest of us, they also found Laci an annoying chick who married a man who was too hot for her.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | March 10, 2024 5:37 AM |
Waiting for Ben Affleck to play Scott Peterson in a biopic.
Already done, by Dean Cain.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | March 10, 2024 6:15 AM |
The Innocence Project sux anyway. They use very young inexperienced attorneys who are ineffective. I remember them trying to help Steven Avery. It was an embarrassment.

There's also a "Free the Menendez brothers!" movement

Middle aged and elder gays, how exactly did she die? Did he beat or shoot her? They never quite figured out cause of death right.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | March 10, 2024 2:39 PM |
R16 But Scott’s DNA wasn’t on the algae found on the bodies nor did Amber Fry have an alibi when the bodies were found.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | March 10, 2024 2:48 PM |

Doubt an 8-months pregnant woman who was only 5 feet tall would attempt to hit her rather large husband. And if he hit or pushed her and she banged her head, then he should have taken her to the hospital or called for help. He was too prepared with his secret boat and secretly made anchors for his actions (of taking her to the ocean) to have been panicked, spur-of-the-moment behavior.

by Anonymous | reply 84 | March 10, 2024 5:35 PM |
R82 Yeah I think they did.
R78 Right? Yeah he planned this. Didn't he tell Amber his wife was dead? I don't think he should have gotten the death penalty. I don't even know if he should have been convicted, but come on, of course he fucking did it! And the Innocence Project is shit.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | March 11, 2024 10:04 PM |
R85 Oh yeah. I memba that. A big part of why the fam, law enforcement turned on Scott is because he told Amber his wife was dead before she disappeared on Christmas Eve. He did this shit.

by Anonymous | reply 90 | March 12, 2024 11:37 PM |
This dumb asshole, right here, is why he's getting a new trial, and it's about time. I guess you really can't take people with fucking pink hair seriously. I remember watching her and that other stealth juror taunting him after the verdict. I was dumbfounded that Mark Geragos didn't do something about it sooner. I think he is guilty and am pretty sure he'll be convicted again, but this was unacceptable.

R93, She was mouthing off to the media outside the courthouse about his guilt while the trial was still in progress.

by Anonymous | reply 95 | March 13, 2024 3:00 PM |
Not sure who you're talking to R95. I said that I think he's guilty but the fact that cunt juror was allowed through was a travesty and that he deserves a new trial because of that. I can't believe this wasn't overturned years ago. I hope he's still found guilty but if not, that chick and the mouthy guy can blame themselves.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | March 13, 2024 3:51 PM |
He will be freed and immediately sign on as a Trumper if he hasn't already-perhaps VP choice?
by Anonymous | reply 97 | March 13, 2024 5:07 PM |
R88, What you cannot see in the pic at R88 is he’s got his hair pulled back in a fairly lengthy ponytail.
The judge gave him the option yesterday to appear in person at future court proceedings or appear via Zoom.
Scott responded that Zoom was fine.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | March 13, 2024 5:48 PM |
No this was a female juror who was removed as she'd been flirting with the defendant

by Anonymous | reply 107 | March 13, 2024 11:07 PM |
Sounds like he is asking for a new trial and that the lower (trial) court is entertaining his request.
I thought that his sister-in-law (wife of his half-brother) was in love with Scott, but now I'm sure.
She actually went to law school and became an attorney ... in order to help Scott!
by Anonymous | reply 108 | March 14, 2024 3:42 AM |
R106 Yes, he does. Verdicts get overturned because of this kind of crap. Maybe not all the time, but they do. This is a high profile case and a death penalty one at that. I can think of one off the top of my head; Ryan Widmer, his verdict was overturned when they found out jurors were doing experiments about the timeline at home. This is why you have to dot your i's and cross your t's when you try a case like this. I think Geragos was his attorney, I can't believe he never brought this up before.
