I saw the oddest film today, from 1993…

“Household Saints” starring Tracey Ullman, Vincent D’Onofrio and Lilli Taylor.

Did anybody read the Francine Prose novel? Does it give any more insight into why Taylor’s character was so religiously fanatical? Really an odd film.

I don’t read the Times. Haven’t in years but as I live in NYC, the IFC Film Center ads kept popping up in my feed so I went and saw it, bitch at R1.

Tracey Ullman was everything.

I've wanted to see that film again for the longest time, I'll have to look it up.

A long term NYer on the DL who never, ever looks at The Times. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have discovered a unicorn under a rainbow.

It’s pretty easy, R6. If ya don’t pay, you can’t read it.

by Anonymousreply 7January 15, 2024 2:33 AM

Yea, you can. And there are copies of The Times literally everywhere, floating around, easy to pick up. Don’t play the fool here.

by Anonymousreply 8January 15, 2024 2:46 AM

Fuck you, R8 and just quit being an ass.

by Anonymousreply 9January 15, 2024 2:57 AM

No thanks—guys who don’t read aren’t my type.

by Anonymousreply 10January 15, 2024 4:11 AM

I love this movie but haven't seen it in years. Lili Taylor was exceptional.
