I think she looks pretty much the way most 60-year old women look who haven't had much, if any, work done. You can tell, though, by those telltale lines around her mouth that she was or still is a smoker.

She grew up in Southern California and was exposed to gigawatts of sunlight, plus she began her career with an ad for Coppertone, so the sun exposure alone would wreck many peoples' faces. That said, she looks fine, and if she wanted to look different she'd wear more makeup.

I saw her at a q&a a few years ago and was surprised at how warm and funny she was with the audience. She always seemed like the cold intellectual type to me but she was a total goofball. And she looked fantastic.

Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore is a great movie and totally different than the TV series. Ellen Burstyn is fantastic in it. And anyone who saw Jodie’s performance would have known that she was a lesbian.

OP I think you need your eyes checked. Jodie is an amazing actor and a good director. She's been doing it almost her entire life. She also is one smart cookie. She speaks French fluently and has a degree from Yale.

I think her starting out so young really helped her understand the part an actor plays in telling a story. As a character especially a lead you have a big responsibly to the story. Many actors want to shine and win Oscars and act in movies the director is not making. She understood as a child you are pushing the story. That's why Gene Siskel believed her to be a genius. A perfect example is her likely competitor for an Oscar this year Emily Blunt who in every scene but one in Oppenheimer was acting for herself not the story. She did that in that awful Girl on Train movie she made. She was just constantly breaking down trying to win an Oscar and I never understood her character's motivation towards the story. Funny enough she was playing a messy drunk in that too. She just picked that character back up.

I think she'd look great with an extra 10 lbs on her, but I don't think she's ugly because of that at all.
