Like the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” I’ve always liked this photo of Eartha Kitt.

A young Leonardo DiCaprio in what I guess is a Greek promo poster for "Marvin's Room" (1995)

Top Gun was peak Tom Cruise, but he was generically handsome in Top Gun.
He's still generically handsome, here. I'm not sure, but this has got to be pre-Top Gun.
IMO, this photo shows the old Tom Cruise that people fell in love with. I think he had already had plastic surgery and had had his teeth worked on. Still, he was a bit more unique-looking than on Top Gun.

I knew the moment Nick Nolte came through the Latest Mugshots thread on DL in 1961 that he would become a star!

Courtney Love onstage in 1995. The "fuck you" charisma is just there (plus, she looks fab).

She gets a lot of hate on here, but the star power was pretty evident.

Very true, R32. I first saw her in "Mystic Pizza," and she had such charisma that your eye was just drawn to her. Even so, back when she was unfamiliar, I felt there was a nasty undertone to her character that I was picking up on. Little did I know it was actually the actress's innate bitchiness coming through, something we all heard so much about eventually.

Squandered the 80s doing forgettable roles, no focus. Should have had a better agent.
