They were fun and fresh in the early 90s, and their debut single “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” did well, peaking at #17 in the states, but their sophomore single was their big hit. After this though they fell off practically. Sad.
“Two Princes” (1993)- why was this the only hit from Spin Doctors

Terrible song then and now.

Little Miss Can't be Wrong is also good.

I prayed for the day I'd never have to hear this abortion of a song ever again.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 10, 2024 8:52 PM |
Annoying, horrific, hideous song
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 10, 2024 8:52 PM |
They sucked bad
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 10, 2024 8:58 PM |
Oh god this song reminds me of the awful school dances we had and all the bullshit I had to endure in middle school.

This thread should've been a poll. Love, Hate, Eh.

God always answers our prayers, r3. His answer to you was NO.

No. Not everything needs a poll.

This song was all over the place in the early to mid 90s.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 10, 2024 9:05 PM |
Now it's stuck in my head.
Go ahead now
Go ahead now
Go ahead now
Go ahead now

They looked like Phish but sounded like a pop band
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 10, 2024 9:13 PM |
Both of those songs were hits, weren't they? They both got major radio play back in the day. The oldies-type stations (radio and satellite) have both tunes on their 90s playlists.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 10, 2024 9:19 PM |
The chorus has some of the laziest rhyming in the history of popular music.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 10, 2024 9:25 PM |
They had at least three hits. Two Princes, Jimmy Olsen‘s Blues, and Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 10, 2024 9:25 PM |
First hit, second hit, flop, obscurity.
That's how it goes for most.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 10, 2024 9:34 PM |
You'll be hearing that single on a PBS oldies show in 2040
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 10, 2024 9:38 PM |
It’s still played a lot on lite fm stations and on playlists for 90s hits
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 10, 2024 9:40 PM |
God I hated that band.
Fun fact: My best friend secretly loved them and he made me swear not to tell anyone in our very judge-y, very "cool", friend group. I told him fine, but he couldn't tell anyone that I secretly liked The Gin Blossoms.
We were 15, I think. Which cracks me up to think about now. But we kept each other's secret and we're still best friends, a million years later.

I thought "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" was a fun little song, but I agree with R14 about "Two Princes." It's one of the laziest and most repetitive songs ever. Annoying as hell, especially with the extreme repetition of the lame chorus.

OP is surely trolling.

Didn't realize the lead singer was briefly married to Broadway icon, Laura Benanti

Another extremely terrible song in the same vein was "Breakfast at Tiffany's."
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 11, 2024 2:04 AM |
I loved Two Princes, hated Breakfast At Tiffany’s, mostly because I liked the Spin Doctors singer’s voice and hated the tone of the Deep Blue Something singer’s voice.

"Two Princes" and "What's Up" by 4 Non Blondes are two of the most hated songs of the 90s. I love both of them.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 11, 2025 6:30 PM |
I love Breakfast at Tiffany's too!
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 11, 2025 6:31 PM |
R1 nails it.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 11, 2025 6:33 PM |
I love "Breakfast at Tiffany's," too.
I kinda-sorta remember the single review in Rolling Stone was something to the effect of "It's all hooks and no song."
I do think "Two Princes" is terrible, though.

Don't forget "Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm"

I hate this song so much
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 11, 2025 6:44 PM |
Mostly because they sucked
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 11, 2025 6:51 PM |
Breakfast At Tiffany's is one of the worst earworm songs ever.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 11, 2025 6:58 PM |
I heard Breakfast At Tiffany’s on the 90s channel on the way to work this morning. It’s an earworm for sure but I always thought the words sounded like they were making shit up while jamming and never bothered to write actual lyrics
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 11, 2025 9:14 PM |
Deep Blue Something actually made good albums.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 11, 2025 11:03 PM |
I'll see your "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and raise you one "Mambo No. 5."
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 12, 2025 12:35 PM |
Breakfast at Tiffany's is so lazy. Three chords throughout, gibberish lyrics, sections repeated for no reason.
But it does work as a song.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 12, 2025 2:31 PM |
I liked them and Pocketful of Kryptonite. I didn’t really get the hate for them, and Nickelback.
