Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey- Golden Globes 2024

Any ideas what’s going on?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds it odd R1. I was hoping to see them in some photos together but was very disappointed to find none. It doesn't make sense since they're the leads of their show and they were there representing it. FT revolves around their characters' relationship and so them not appearing together in any photos is really strange. They didn't even get to go to the same afterparty.

I don't know if anyone banned them from taking photos, or if so what their motive was. I did find the timing of recent events odd though, like when photos of Matt and his husband appearing on JustJared right after Johnny went back to the UK (poor Matt looks scared in all of them), and then Matt's new year picture with Simon on instagram (which is a rarity supposedly).

The way Matt and Johnny were with each other at the Maestro premiere has been talked about and most think it's PR, which may well be true, but if Simon was the one behind it asking them to play it up then why is he suddenly everywhere when the promos are done? Why the 180? Why was it suddenly necessary for us to see Matt and his husband everywhere, it's like they're intentionally throwing it in our faces. Is Simon behind this, and if so why? Does he feel threatened or annoyed? Surely not if he was the one asking them to play it up in the first place. It's not the first time Matt had intimate scenes with his costar either (eg The Normal Heart, The Sinner) for him to be jealous or concerned, Matt's more professional than that; what's different this time?

I've no idea whether Johnny really has a boyfriend. If there were pictures of Matt and Johnny and Simon together it would at least have made sense to me, cause that'd just be Matt with his husband and costar. But right now, the whole thing is just awkward and very weird. I would never expect Matt to leave his family or anything like that, cause it's clear he loves them; but I do sometimes get the feeling that there may potentially be a little more than just friendship between Matt and Johnny. If that's case then it's a shame because it must be difficult for all of them, it's a tough situation.

[R2] People have this theory maybe they are about to get a divorce which is odd, considering that Matt is a family man, but relationships are like that, sometime even the love that you have for someone takes a new form. Matt also married young, and in HW even if you’re about to end an relationship you pretend to be very much in love with your partner till a day before announcing your separation and I know some people think Simon is trying to change the marriage by telling us that Matt is married man and kinda making him the bad guy. Honestly don’t know much about Simon but I don’t believe he asked them to play it up, based on the thing Johnny said in the past Matt is his type, and even watching their interviews together it’s been years since I have seen Matt this happy. But since the moment he arrived at Golden Globe the light that you could see on his face in FT promos with Johnny was gone. Also Simon usually follows Matt’s costars on IG, but Simon and Johnny don’t even follow each other so i would never expect to see a photo of all three of them. But why Simon tried to be seen with him everywhere at the Golden Globe is kinda odd, even their New Year photo appeared on JustJared with an article detailing their marriage and mentioning Simon’s career and we know Simon is friends with them so every time they appear on this website is Simon’s idea.

Yes: you're massively overreacting to an inaccurately perceived "slight." It's an awards show with thousands of people, and you're making broad generalizations based solely on the minuscule portion that was shown on TV or in a clip of some sort. Why would they? Matt's married to one of the most powerful agents in Hollywood, and I'd assume Simon needed to go to one or more specific ones if only for work-related reasons. Jonathan's considerably younger and less influential / established, and from what I've seen elsewhere he mainly hangs out with a combo West End theatre / London hipster crowd.

What in the actual fuck is "odd" about any of this? Matt & Simon went out to dinner & got papped. Happens all the time, even if the pics aren't always published – but in this case they *were* because Matt was a GG nominee and thus in the news in general. Jonathan flew back to the UK for work. That's literally it.

The only "odd" thing I see here is a poster clearly "talking to himself": he may have switched browsers to cover his tracks, but the OP, R2 & R3 are clearly the same deluded nutjob.

Matts married to the king of PR. I don’t think it’s a coincidence they got a hell of a lot of promo ops than most shows on Paramount+. Matt was in total PR mode although I do think Jonnys first time in America eagerness & openness thawed him a little. I like Matt, he seems sweet. But he’s Mr PR personified.

They got the PR they wanted. Chatter was created. Nominations are done. Awards are decided. Show is over. On to their next projects.

Given Mr. Peabody’s aversion to publicity, I could very easily see him insist Duckling stop his very public, purposefully humiliating frolicking with Bailey while a separation is worked out. Mr. Peabody turned 60 a few days ago, he obviously would not want a highly public divorce announced right now.

Which is a shame for Duckling because if he leaves him right now he might win the SAG.

What the hell is R14 on about Mr Peabody?! Is this Simon? What’s the beef with Simon? They’ve always struck me as a really solid couple, far more than most straight couples in LaLa Land. Matt posted a super sweet birthday message for him this weekend, I see zero signs of an imminent divorce.
