It’s a FULL GAY ROMANCE DRAMA!

by Anonymousreply 1January 6, 2024 5:24 PM

Is it a musical?

by Anonymousreply 2January 6, 2024 5:27 PM

OP, just tell us where we can fast forward to the cocks.

by Anonymousreply 3January 6, 2024 5:30 PM

If they were serious about this film they would have come up with a better, less stereotypical title.

by Anonymousreply 4January 6, 2024 5:42 PM

Starring Vic Tayback and Robby Benson (1978)

by Anonymousreply 5January 6, 2024 5:43 PM

Can we have a trailer first? Ain’t nobody gonna start watching a whole movie on your say so.

by Anonymousreply 6January 6, 2024 5:46 PM

Thanks, OP, for alerting us. I can't remember the name of the lead but he's very pretty.

by Anonymousreply 7January 6, 2024 5:49 PM

I saw it a few years ago. Cringe Cringe Cringe. Just really bad including the performances.

by Anonymousreply 8January 6, 2024 5:56 PM

Any nice dicks, R8?

by Anonymousreply 9January 6, 2024 5:58 PM

Anybody cute?

by Anonymousreply 10January 6, 2024 5:58 PM

Stupid movie built on a stupid premise

by Anonymousreply 11January 6, 2024 6:08 PM

The main actor was in those Bears movies a while back.

by Anonymousreply 12January 6, 2024 6:08 PM

Colin Farrell?

by Anonymousreply 13January 6, 2024 6:23 PM

What's the premise, R11?

by Anonymousreply 14January 6, 2024 6:52 PM

So many wonderful films, but also many shitty films have come out of our classic distribution companies: Breaking Glass, Wolfe, TLA, or Strand Releasing. Even though the film quality can be a toss up sometimes, I’m glad those companies are still around.

Agreed.

Oh, wait, that's Pittsburgh.

Might have to sample it a bit.

by Anonymousreply 17January 6, 2024 9:45 PM

Watch it and shut up

by Anonymousreply 18January 6, 2024 9:54 PM

Haven't seen this, but it reminds me of Beach Rats (2017).

It seems like one in three gay men in their 20s are now openly pursuing/advertising an interest in men old enough to be their father, and it is actually a very interesting phenomenon which doesn't get explored enough in queer cinema.

However, as someone who has been around the gay hookup scene for 20 years, let me say this: not all of these guys are pursuing older men because their father died when they were young, or rejected them, or went out for cigarettes and never came back. Reducing all age-gap relationships/hookups to this kind of family dynamic is facile and uninteresting. But there's a lot of material there for an excellent documentary or really well-done fictional narrative.

by Anonymousreply 19January 6, 2024 10:00 PM

I’m now in a situation where I have a new romance with someone 25 years younger than me. It’s an unusual situation. Someone we were both pursuing tragically died way too young, and we are turning toward each other in our grief. I have no idea whether this will go places, but it has a decent chance, and I hope it will. It’s certainly something I did not expect nor could have seen coming.

That said, this has all the makings of a terrible gay movie, and I have no interest in watching it.

Neither will we start watching a hole movie …

by Anonymousreply 21January 6, 2024 11:06 PM

You and me both, R20.

Good luck!

by Anonymousreply 22January 6, 2024 11:14 PM

Best line: "You let me fuck you!" ---------"I thought it was worth it"😂

by Anonymousreply 23January 6, 2024 11:35 PM

You let me fuck you r22

by Anonymousreply 24January 6, 2024 11:37 PM

I didn't wanna do it.

by Anonymousreply 25January 6, 2024 11:38 PM

You let me put my foot in your asshole

by Anonymousreply 26January 6, 2024 11:58 PM

Where do I fast forward to you for that, R26?

by Anonymousreply 27January 6, 2024 11:59 PM

Thomas Jay Ryan is an ex of a friend of mine.

by Anonymousreply 28January 7, 2024 12:01 AM

Isn't the audience for this fare rather... miniscule? Worthy of a $1 - $5 million budget and box office of $100,000? I mean I'm in that audience and I appreciate movies about Us. But they have to be good, not some independent dreck with local community theater actors.

Is there some gay billionaire who finances these softcore gay melodramas-of-the-week? There sure are a lot of them (mostly bland).

by Anonymousreply 29January 7, 2024 12:19 AM

R23. Is that a real line? That’s like gay Gong Show material.

by Anonymousreply 30January 7, 2024 1:00 AM

On the other hand, R23/R30, who hasn't been there?

by Anonymousreply 31January 7, 2024 1:48 AM

MARY!

by Anonymousreply 32January 7, 2024 1:58 AM

The trailer is on the IMDB page.

a cautionary tale about not fucking people you work with.

by Anonymousreply 34January 7, 2024 2:06 AM

I mentioned Beach Rats before: I don't love everything about it but it's very well-made and definitely worth a watch, and Harris Dickinson is also very easy on the eye.

Yes r30. Starts at about: 59:50

by Anonymousreply 36January 7, 2024 8:27 AM

by Anonymousreply 37January 7, 2024 10:24 AM

Did you meet in Paris?

by Anonymousreply 38January 7, 2024 7:49 PM

No. In the U.S. i hope this works out.

by Anonymousreply 39January 8, 2024 10:08 PM

My favorite review highlight from the trailer...

"Nothing short of miraculous."

Exactly what can a movie do that would warrant the "miraculous" tag?

by Anonymousreply 40January 8, 2024 11:57 PM

Miraculously stupid?

by Anonymousreply 41January 9, 2024 9:00 AM

Daddy has a gay best friend who is asexual and sounds like a scornful prairie wife. He tells the adventurer something akin to, I love you, gurl but if you do this, I won't be here when you get back.
