I agree; in the HBO documentary, the mother talks about how kid was autistic, pretty low functioning and that when GR came on the scene, she was clearly the one in charge. I don't disagree that she should be released, but that dimwit kid should also be given some mercy too. He sounds like the Joaquin Phoenix character in To Die For

[quote] Gypsy Rose Describes Intimate Moment With Boyfriend In Men’s Bathroom
An interview with Gypsy Rose Blanchard-Anderson is resurfacing as she described an intimate moment with her former boyfriend while in the men's bathroom at a movie theater.
In 2012, Gypsy Rose met Nicholas Godejohn on a Christian dating website, and they managed to have a secret relationship for years, behind her mother's back. As you may know, Gypsy Rose's mom, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, controlled and abused her daughter for years, as she convinced many (including Gypsy) that she suffered from multiple illnesses.
Gypsy Rose felt isolated, and so she joined the Christian dating website. After meeting Nicholas, the two texted in secret for three years before meeting in person in March 2015.
In an interview with Dr. Phil from a few years ago, which is now resurfacing on social media, Gypsy Rose Blanchard-Anderson described the intimate moment she had with her then-boyfriend while in the men's bathroom of a movie theater.
"So you were alone with him at the movie?" Dr. Phil asked Gypsy Rose, to which she responded, "No, my mother was sitting right next to us and then my mother got increasingly angry because I was paying more attention to him than I was to her."
Dr. Phil then asked, "Did you have [intimate] relations with him at the movie?" to which Gypsy responded with a simple, "Yes, sir."
Gypsy Rose went on to describe how the moment went down, stating she and Nicholas went to the men's bathroom where she wheeled herself into a handicapped stall, all while her mother was in the auditorium.
In the interview, she explained how her mother thought Nicholas was getting popcorn, but he followed Gypsy into the men's bathroom, where the two experienced intimacy before Gypsy got back into her wheelchair and the two went back into the theater to finish watching the Disney live-action movie, 'Cinderella.'
Gypsy says her mom knew "nothing."
After the two met on the Christian dating site, Gypsy Rose and Nicholas generally discussed love, intimacy, and planning a life together over text messages, but then they began discussing needing duct tape and knives in the days before Dee Dee was murdered.
A text message exchange between Gypsy Rose and Nicholas was revealed during the trial, which showed the two conspiring to kill Dee Dee. Nicholas even brought up his “evil side” which he said, “enjoys killing.”
Gypsy Rose: “This s–ts gonna go down tonight..”
Nicholas: “Babe it’s my evil side doing it he won’t mess up because he enjoys killing.”
Gypsy: “We’ll be happy soon after this night we will never bring it up.”
Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard was stabbed to death in June 2015 by Nicholas while Gypsy was in the other room.
During her trial, Gypsy Rose testified that not only did her mother convince her she had multiple illnesses such as epilepsy and asthma, as well as suffering from leukemia, but she also physically abused her by beating her and chaining her to a bed. Over time, Gypsy said that she began realizing that she wasn’t as sick as her mom said.
Gypsy's attorney, Michael Stanfield, claimed she suffered from unnecessary medical treatment and abuse, stating that “essentially Gypsy’s mother was holding her a prisoner. Her mother would not allow her to spend any time alone with any other human being. Her mother, when they went to the doctor, did all the talking.”
Gypsy Rose Blanchard-Anderson served seven of her ten-year sentence for her involvement in Dee Dee's murder and was released on parole on Thursday, December 28. Nicholas is serving life in prison.

[quote] Fans Demand Justice For The Menendez Brothers Amid Gypsy Rose’s Release
After Gypsy Rose Blanchard was released on parole after being convicted for her part in the murder of her mother, social media users want to know why the Menendez Brothers remain behind bars.
Gypsy Rose and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, were both sentenced to prison after their involvement in the murder of Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, who investigators believe had Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a psychological disorder where the caretaker convinces others that their child has an illness (or illnesses) for attention.
In this case, Dee Dee claimed Gypsy Rose had multiple disorders and illnesses, including, but not limited to, asthma, epilepsy, leukemia, being paralyzed from the waist down, vision impairments, and hearing impairments.
After Gypsy Rose found out that she was not actually sick or immobile, she felt the only way out of the abuse was to kill her mother, which she had her then-boyfriend do.
Meanwhile, the Menendez Brothers, who murdered their parents after claiming years of sexual abuse, were sentenced to life in prison without parole in the 1990s. Being that the two cases are similar, social media users are questioning why Gypsy Rose was released on parole, but the Menendez Brothers were sentenced to life without the eligibility of parole.
“So you mean to tell me that Gypsy Rose was released from prison but the Menendez Brothers had life without parole and they’re still in there?” one TikToker said in a video posted to the social media platform.
“Because from my knowledge, they were in there for the same reason,” the user added.
For those who do not know, Joseph “Lyle” Menendez and Erik Galen Menendez were convicted of killing their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in their Los Angeles home on August 20, 1989. The two claimed in their trial that years of sexual abuse led to the decision to kill their parents.
Another social media user stated, “You finally did right with Gypsy, release [the Menendez Brothers.] They were victims of so much! Their court case was so sad to watch them breaking down over and over again and people just thinking it was for money, it’s truly sickening to me.”
Jose and Kitty were found in their living room, shot to death with two 12-gauge shotguns. The scene was so gruesome, that investigators initially believed it was related to the mob, per the Los Angeles Times.
“It was just absolutely savage,” former Beverly Hills police captain and murder investigator, Russ Olson, said of the crime scene on an episode of the true-crime documentary, ‘Snapped.’ “You’re looking at two human beings who had been ripped apart,” he added.
Jose Menendez was shot at point-blank range in the back of the head. He was shot three more times in the arms and legs. Kitty Menendez, on the other hand, was shot four times in her head, and five other times in various places on her body.
“The bodies were distorted,” Olson said in the documentary. “They had no resemblance of what you would expect a human being to look like.”
Although initially, authorities believed the scene was a result of the mob, they changed their investigation to follow the Menendez Brothers as the two began spending money on expensive things such as a Porsche, a Jeep Wrangler, a Rolex, and thousands of dollars worth of clothing.
Police then obtained a search warrant for the therapy sessions that both Lyle and Erik were having, which contained incriminating information. Seven months after the murder of Jose and Kitty Menendez, Lyle was arrested. A few days later, Erik turned himself in to the police.

During the first trial, the brothers claimed the reason behind the murders was due to years of sexual abuse from their father, with the abuse being condoned by their mother.
According to ABC News, a family member testified that they heard of the abuse as a child.
Prosecutors, on the other hand, argued financial gain as the reason behind the murders, ultimately leaving the two juries deadlocked in January 1994.
The case was retried in August 1995, but the judge ruled that any evidence and testimony about the brothers’ allegations of sexual abuse would be inadmissible in the new trial.
In the end, Joseph “Lyle” Menendez and Erik Galen Menendez were convicted of killing their parents and are now serving life sentences without the possibility of parole.
So, why is it that Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who conspired to murder her mom after suffering years of abuse, was released on parole after serving seven years, but the Menendez Brothers, who also claim they murdered their parents due to years of abuse, are to remain behind bars for the rest of their lives, without parole?
That is exactly what social media users want to know.
“If Gypsy Rose can get out of prison, so should the Menendez Brothers,” one TikToker wrote in a video
Another said, “They released Gypsy Rose, now it’s time to release the Menendez Brothers!”
Gypsy Rose Blanchard was sentenced to ten years in prison. After serving 85% of her sentence, she was eligible for parole. On Thursday, December 28, after seven years behind bars, Gypsy Rose was released on parole.
The Menendez Brothers are sentenced to life in prison, without the eligibility of parole.
