New series on Apple TV set on Palm Beach in the late 1960’s with an amazing cast (including Ricky Martin). Can’t wait!
I do like Kristen Wiig. Should be funny.

Trailer tomorrow
This may be the gayest thing since Death Becomes Her.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 5, 2024 2:33 PM |
People still remember Ricky Martin?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 5, 2024 3:17 PM |
R4 OMFG THAT'S WHO THAT WAS!!!!
This looks like it COULD be good.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 5, 2024 7:40 PM |
When Mindy Cohn appeared, it reached a level of gayness that surpassed Fellow Travelers.
The is like if a gay gift shop became sentient.
I love it to death.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 5, 2024 8:24 PM |
I remember an old Letterman cutaway joke from when The Mirror Has Two Faces came out and he cut to a shot of theater seats in which every seat was occupied by Richard Simmons, cackling with joy.
This is that gay.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 5, 2024 8:27 PM |
Julia Duffy, too?
Intriguing....
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 5, 2024 9:42 PM |
The wigs and dresses alone are enough to get me to watch. Uh, I love late-60s style.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 5, 2024 9:46 PM |
Also the Cindy Crawford Nepo Spawn
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 5, 2024 10:10 PM |
Carol Burnett!!!
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 5, 2024 10:18 PM |
Josh Lucas is such a prissy hen, but so sexy. I'm in.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 6, 2024 12:27 AM |
Girl imagine if Judith Light makes a surprise cameo
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 6, 2024 1:07 AM |
Wiig still looks young. She’s 50.

Ugh. Pass.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 6, 2024 9:54 AM |
Must see tv!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 6, 2024 4:22 PM |
Is this like a comedy version of the White Lotus?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 6, 2024 4:48 PM |
More like a comedy version of Capote vs. the Swans, r21.
I will watch the shit out of this, but it is weird how TV shows these days are becoming more and more about the Lifestyles of the Rich and Exclusive.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 6, 2024 5:19 PM |
Ricky Martin looks incredible. He is such a handsome man.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 6, 2024 5:20 PM |

The gay quotient would break all communication networks.
So Josh Lucas is a pilot? I'm in.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 6, 2024 5:24 PM |
Lucas must be a kept boytoy of one of the women, because there is no way a pilot could afford to hangout with these people. No one from that class would take up a day job like that in 1960 or even today.
The King of the Netherlands like to fly for KLM, but that's more of a rich kid with a hobby situation.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 6, 2024 8:28 PM |
Laura Dern AND Allison Janney?? I'M IN!
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 13, 2024 3:17 PM |
Has anyone watched? The reviews have been very, very mixed.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 20, 2024 6:19 PM |
Given this is a period piece, Wiig’s character should be played by an over the hill 35-year-old.
Leslie Bibb reminds me of GCB. That was a good show.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 20, 2024 7:06 PM |
The trailer doesn't indicate whether it has any straight male characters.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 20, 2024 7:07 PM |
It has many straight male husbands to these tiring caricature one-dimensional rich bitches who run charity events.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 20, 2024 9:57 PM |
Josh Lucas plays a pilot married to Wiig and he’s an heir to a moms Palm Beacg family
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 21, 2024 12:37 PM |
Looks interesting
by Anonymous | reply 33 | March 21, 2024 12:42 PM |
I’ve watched the first two and I love it! It’s hysterical and fun with amazing set and costume design! What a camp riot!

The reviews are mixed to poor.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 6, 2024 6:36 AM |
One of the worst streaming shows I’ve ever seen. Even Carol Burnett is a yawn in it!
by Anonymous | reply 40 | April 6, 2024 7:07 AM |
Will not watch due to nepo baby of Cindy Crawford. Plenty of actual actors who’s parents aren’t besties with George Clooney.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 6, 2024 7:12 AM |
The Crawford spawn seems incidental - it's the rest of the cast that looks like an absolute hoot.
Allison Janney - Carol Burnett - Kristin Wiig - it looks really fun. I'm going to watch it.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | April 6, 2024 8:02 AM |
Gave it a chance. Gave up after four Episodes. Dreck.

Brainless entertainment for brainless gays and GCBs

Thanks, Mother Macintosh and Señora Martin!

It’s worth watching if only to see Dominic Burgess as Graymond the fashionista.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | April 6, 2024 8:23 PM |
It's a comedy, kids, it's not to be taken seriously.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | April 6, 2024 9:29 PM |
I’m happy that this story really goes somewhere. I thought it would be 100% about getting into the club but this season has three parts that help move things along. I’m enjoying it can wait for the finale next week.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 8, 2024 1:09 AM |
I both like and hate this format for broadcasting a series. It's more like British shows I've seen. On the one hand, waiting for the next season can take too long and I get irritated with that. A redeeming feature is that they're only eight to ten episodes. We can watch them in one weekend, even one day if we're feeling like absolute couch potatoes.
We'll wait for that finale and then watch the whole thing. I think it looks like fun.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 8, 2024 1:56 AM |
Love Mindy Cohn, Allison Janney, Carol Burnett. But I have never warmed to Kristen Wiig. I’ll try to watch it but if KW is too annoying I may have to give up.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 8, 2024 2:38 AM |
R51 she’s not annoying in this, because you can’t even tell it’s her, at first I thought it was the lady from pitch perfect and had to google it to find out.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 11, 2024 4:22 AM |
Why aren't the gays talking about this show?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 11, 2024 4:26 AM |
Boring as shit. Like most Apple shows.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 11, 2024 5:00 AM |
The opening credits are very good.
I want to see a scene where Maxine walks to find hubby Josh Lucas getting his nipples sucked by Ricky Martin.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 11, 2024 8:18 AM |
Episode 6 was very good. Allison Janney was great in all her scenes. And she delivered some insults that I will be adding to my repertoire.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 11, 2024 5:14 PM |
Kaia Gerber is barely in it, but when she is, she ruins each scene.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 11, 2024 7:57 PM |
It’s not very good. Another show about a clueless striver.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 11, 2024 9:08 PM |
It will receive zero Emmy nominations.
Well… maybe a sympathy guest performer nomination for Carol Burnett, but honestly she doesn’t deserve it for this turd. 💩
by Anonymous | reply 59 | April 11, 2024 9:41 PM |
eat a sock
by Anonymous | reply 60 | April 11, 2024 10:45 PM |
I'm still enjoying this show and rewatched a few episodes on a long flight this weekend. It's just gorgeous looking and insular from the world's issues via the 1970s or 2024. But I have to say, it makes Palm Beach look boring as hell. The Palm Royal looks like the equivalent of Mayonnaise.
But my biggest thought, it how these woman could wear these clothes and big hair in FL without sweating their wigs off their heads. I know the season was in Fall through early Spring, but southern FL is still hot in those months.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 16, 2024 6:32 PM |
I thought the 6th episode was an improvement on the 5th, which was a snore. At least things are nicely set in motion for the next 4 eps.
Though her performance is very broad, I’m loving Carol Burnett in this, think her loopiness is very funny.
I’m also finding Josh Lucas hot as fuck. Love a thick, middle-aged blond.
I still don’t really get this series. I know it was based on a novel, seems sillier and more trivial than it needs to be, and the tone wobbles, but the cast, the clothes and the saturated colors of the cinematography keep me coming back.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 16, 2024 6:39 PM |
I don't get how these women aren't bored to tears in Palm Beach for months at a time. The younger one fucking the tennis instructor is only 40. Why would a 40 year old want to hangout with some old birds in Palm Beach? This is the part that confused me, the mixed generational friendship. Same issue with the movie, The Help. They had a 20-something bully setup as the queen bee of Jackson's social scene, when in reality, there was a hierarchy that always placed the older above the younger, unless you were Jackie Kennedy or a Post heiress with outright massive fortunes.
So, I doubt Evelyn would be hanging out with Dinah. Dinah would hang out with the younger set from her generation, not her mother's generation.

[quote] I want to see a scene where Maxine walks to find hubby Josh Lucas getting his nipples sucked by Ricky Martin.
A scene with Ben Palacios getting his nipples sucked by Ricky Martin was a decent consolation.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 17, 2024 10:45 PM |
Are y'all still enjoyin' this or am I the only darn homosexual watchin' it by myself.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | May 2, 2024 5:16 PM |
The first episodes were fun. But this show got increasingly plot heavy, and lost my interest.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | May 2, 2024 5:20 PM |
R65 we’re still watching and enjoying it. Alyson Janney is worth watching by herself.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | May 2, 2024 5:56 PM |
I’m still hanging in. I enjoy watching it in between rolling my eyes at the inconsistencies, plot holes and jumbled tone.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | May 2, 2024 6:59 PM |
Plot heavy is a good term for what is getting draggy about it. But the game cast, the clothes, sets and photography are going a long way toward making up for the hit-or-miss tone and direction. I’m finding it entertaining.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | May 2, 2024 7:15 PM |
It's an afterthought show for me.
I watched the recent episode last night because I had nothing better to watch.
No one stands out, especially Kristen Wiig. The only good performance is Ricky Martin.
I expected more from a cast like that.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | May 2, 2024 9:01 PM |
What the fuck was that ending?!
Nearly 10 hours of storytelling and that's how the left it?
by Anonymous | reply 71 | May 8, 2024 8:11 PM |
Clearly, it's coming back for a second season.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | May 8, 2024 8:56 PM |
R71 beat me to it! Yikes. They plan to bring it back? Are they going to resusitate Ricky? Oy.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | May 9, 2024 2:05 AM |
Guys, just give it another season to develop. It has enough to carry it into next year.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | May 9, 2024 8:56 AM |
Kristen Wiig kept giving me Marilyn Chambers vibes.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | May 14, 2024 3:12 PM |
R73 - I'm sure Ricky Martin's character is not getting killed off. 'Robert' was pretty much the favorite character on the show.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | May 21, 2024 2:59 PM |
Ricky should get an Emmy
by Anonymous | reply 77 | May 21, 2024 3:29 PM |
Ricky’s plastic surgeon should get an Emmy

I just finished the show and it was great.
Kristen Wiig is fantastic.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | June 7, 2024 1:54 AM |
It's been renewed.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | June 7, 2024 3:22 AM |
It was a big pile of meh
by Anonymous | reply 81 | June 7, 2024 3:34 PM |
Yeah, it was disjointed and lots of other criticisms, but it was fun. Fun as opposed to funny at times, but I’ll still take it.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | June 7, 2024 3:38 PM |
Finally finished it. Should have been eight episodes, it dragged towards the end. That older lady who embolised (Carol Channing?) stole every scene she was in, what a charisma machine. The journalist lady was equally a joy to watch.
All the gay stuff was really nice, Ricky isn't half bad at acting for someone who doesn't act professionally. Like some critics said, the scenes in that time period should be filled with smoke, but because this is on Apple, smoking is a huge no-no. So that messed with the immersion a bit. Still, lovely set design, very nice. And some great eye candy for us – that tennis instructor, rawr!
by Anonymous | reply 83 | June 12, 2024 4:54 PM |
[quote]That older lady who embolised (Carol Channing?)
Seriously? You don't know (1) who Carol Burnett is, (2) what Carol Channing looks and sounds like, and (3) that she's been dead for some years?
by Anonymous | reply 84 | June 12, 2024 5:26 PM |

Ricky Martin tweeted a photo today from the set - Season 2 is filming.
So that means he's not dead.
