I don't think she really had that surgery. When she cycles she gets all about her appearance which is basically all in her mind. That surgery is supposed to make a person look younger. She looks 2 decades older. Also, drastic hair color changes when she's cycling. The purple eyebrows are new.

That Paul person presents on paper as very learned and knowledgable. And then you hear him talk. Oy. Again, they met (her words) while they were BOTH in therapy. He's been a phD student for a very, very long time.

Eyelid surgery is often done to improve the vision rather than for purely cosmetic reasons. Depends how severe the hooding was

If you zoom in on her eyes in the photo at R48, you can see a very slight extra crease alongside her inner eye, next to her nose. She previously wrote that she considered her “webbed eyes” a birth defect and was extremely dismayed by it, so that may be what she had corrected via surgery.

Defect is an extreme term for something barely noticeable, and hardly unattractive, but Amanda grew up in an appearance-focused industry and was tough on herself about appearance even when she was working and seemingly stable. Around the time of her movie career, she said that she worked to maintain a weight of 100 lbs, very low for someone who is quite tall. (I believe she is about 5’8.) It’s likely that those feelings overlap with whatever other illness she experiences, exaggerating her ideas about her appearance.

Similarly, the facial tattoo, bleached hair, and exaggerated eyebrows could be because she thinks these things look good, they give her a sense of control over her appearance, they make her less recognizable/approachable, or any or all of the above. I’m sure a lot of people who grew up with her as “Amanda” on TV feel as if they know her, which has got to be difficult for anyone (let alone someone struggling with mental illness and paranoia).

Now, that is one autobiography I would love to read!

I grew up watching her on TV and in movies and always loved her. It is sad and scary to see the state she's in—fully schizophrenic and doped up on antipsychotics that render her a dronebot. I watched ten minutes of her podcast and had to turn it off because I found it so stilted, bizarre, and off-putting. She announced yesterday that she was going to stop the podcast after the first episode because she couldn't book guests like Drake (who she once famously asked to "murder her vagina" on Twitter) or Post Malone. Hm... I wonder why?
