It is extreme now. They seem to have cracked down again in past couple days. Comments now “fail to publish.” How are they getting away with this?
Any DL mavens have something to say about the new censorship in Yahoo’s comments section?

They are a private company and can take you or leave you.

I don't know, but they must be doing something right, seeing how the Yahoo comment section has transformed from the filthiest cesspit of deplorables even a couple of years ago – by far the worst comment section on the web – to mostly reasonable takes, with the more liberal ones usually the most liked. I think the MAGAdonians that used to be the Yahoo staple have migrated to Facebook, Truth Social, Telegram, and more recently to X.

It has gotten better, I agree.

If you are going to Yahoo! to express your views, feel heard, and experience community, you really need to get a fucking life.

I go there to read comments by deplorables. It reveals their lunacy and absolute stupidity. There are still plenty commenting but I've noticed the foreign trolls are pretty much out in the open. Not even trying to hide anymore.

That alone (no more foreign trolls and bots) is reason enough to be happy about the changes.

OP not really, since I thought Yahoo went out of business in 2009

They probably "get away with it" because it's their right, since they are a private business able to control the content they choose or not to have posted on their social media platform. It's called "freedom."
