I will watch Nigella Lawson carry on about any recipe, anything to do with food. For me, she has a brilliant ability to impart enthusiasm, instruction, and convey the simplicity of a thing even when it may be a bit tricky. And so immediate is her approach that you feel you are only an arm's reach from tasting the very thing she has cooked

No one else comes near her talent for explaining a dish and making you want to take the same pleasure in making and enjoying food.

Even if she now and again describes a thing that you would dismiss the idea of ever making had another cook suggested it, you think,sure, that sounds like a great idea, let's do it, and everyone will love it.

It's not easy to make a thing sound so good and look so easy, but she is without peer in doing this.

Nigella used to be a bit too flirty for my taste (I was turned off by Charlie Rose slobbering over her and her seeming to enjoy it), but I've discovered that her recipes are excellent and genuine and now I like her. She clearly has (or had) some insecurity issues with food and men. But she walked out on Saatchi after those pictures came out, didn't she?

Since I'm in the US I never see Nigel Slater - I only know his books. Isn't he partnered? I've wondered whether he would be a good lay.
