I think actors are just often quite tactile with each other, as it's just the done thing. They get close over the course of filming.

By the time they promoted Fellow Travelers, it had been airing for a few weeks. Anyone who was going to watch it was already aware of it and already watching it. This was extremely niche programming. The show featured so much explicit content major reviews branded it pornographic and “on the fence” viewers were scared away. Those who heard about the show vis social media would have almost certainly heard about the explicit content first. Absolutely no reason to queerbait an affair because it would almost literally be preaching to the choir.

Well yes no one actually reads entire reviews. The headline told everything it needs to. Those who found it appealing would watch the series, and those who didn’t would not.

You can parse it any way you like, nothing is going to support your argument that a gay married man would act like he’s cheating on his husband to promote a tv series where he simulates sex with the man who he is cheating on his husband with, in the small hope that some hausfrau watching entertainment programs is going to susbscribe to Paramount Plus with Showtime when the series has almost finished airing.

I think it’s done fairly well for what is ultimately niche show on a network I’d never heard of before the show (Paramount+ is not very well known in the UK at least). It’s got a small but quite vocal fan base on social media which really, I don’t think you’d really expect for a show like this. It gained enough traction for some quite mainstream promo. I was really surprised to see them do a puppy interview, typically saved for more light hearted, poppy shows.

I can’t help think MB has been somewhat surprised by it & the interest in him & JB. Has he ever had much fan interest in an on screen partner before? Comment after comment on social media about them fucking or being into each other, him cheating on Simon. None that I can think of. Hence him rolling out Simon on his social media way more than I’ve seen him do in years 😂 ‘I’m happily married guys!’
