I do love Bette. She's had such a long and varied career, and been so committed and artistically successful in those variations, it really does seem as though it takes separate people to come together to make up the entirety of who she is. It's unbelievable that one woman could so successfully inhabit such a wide range of personas: glitz and glam stage diva, torch singing chanteuse, gritty rocker, movie star, philanthropist. Interesting to think of how she can be identified so totally as one or the other, and the range of fans she's able to pick up along the way.

I love this performance of Stay With Me from 2015. She sounds great and is so effective emotionally. Wish she got one or two more legitimate opportunities to showcase her dramatic acting chops when she was in her prime.
