How would moving it to 7 make it run less long?
The Oscars used to air Monday at 9 and got twice the ratings they do now. It's simply not a cultural event anymore, diminished by the fact that we have an "awards season" that ruins all suspense, celebrity culture permeating every aspect of life due to social media, and the fact the anything interesting which may happen in instantly available online.
