Variety’s Actors on Actors Lineup Announced
Every year Variety does two different Actors on Actors segments, with the first being Actors who had a good year “moment” in a series interviewing each other and then later in the year they do the same thing but with Actors who had a good “moment” in Films. This is the films segment.
Whoever got this lineup deserves a raise. It’s good. And I like that they paired some actors who have worked together and know each other vs. actors who you would never expect to see sitting with one another (like when they paired Rob Patterson with J Lo). Of course there are a few random pairings in there but it works.
This years lineup looks great! Will be watching all of these. And guess who isn’t there because he isn’t having a moment in film despite a certain poster here claiming he is? Matt Bomer. Lmao. You just know he would rush to do this if asked, but you know he wasn’t for his 2 minute role in Maestro. Lmao.

Andrew Scott and Greta Lee is the only pairing I'm remotely interested in, what an obnoxious lineup. Shame Domingo got saddled with that thirsty upstart.

Domingo and Elordi being paired makes sense as both are Euphoria actors who now have critically acclaimed performances in films, Domingo in “Rustin” and Elordi in both “Priscilla” and “Saltburn”.

It’s going to be challenging seeing Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt together, since I think at one point I thought they were essentially the same person.
At least Natalie Portman isn there too, because I am 99% sure that she is a persona adopted by Hathaway every so often.

I wouldn’t say any of them are promoting anything. Margot, Cillian, RDJ and Alden’s movies they’re discussing came out in July.

Variety chooses actors who had acclaimed performances in films to discuss the performances etc.
It could be considered awards campaigning but not promotion of a film. Most of the films are out already, some by months, (Past Lives, Barbie, Oppenheimer etc)
The real question is why is Michael Fassbender there? Were critics that receptive of his performance in The Killer?

Our dear Jacob was asked? Not shocking in the slightest. He is THE MOMENT. Unlike that fuggo lead of Saltburn, who no one wants to look at nor cares about.

Regarding the Colman/Elordi pairing, they say at the beginning that although they care both cast members of EUPHORIA, they discuss the fact that they've they've hardly spent any time together on the set because their characters have never met.
