Elon Musk’s latest bizarre behavior explained

This is the beginning of an Asperger’s Meltdown.

All Aspies have meltdowns. They range from “stepping away for a little while” to Greta Garbo and Howard Hughes.

[quote]In 1958, Howard Hughes, the American business magnate, aviator, and filmmaker, locked himself in a darkened screening room for more than four months. During this time, he watched movies continuously, ate only chocolate bars and chicken, and drank only milk. He was surrounded by dozens of Kleenex boxes that he continuously stacked and re-arranged. Hughes wrote detailed memos to his aides giving them explicit instructions neither to look at him nor speak to him unless spoken to. When he finally emerged in the summer of 1958, his hygiene was terrible. He had neither bathed nor cut his hair and nails for weeks; this may have been due to allodynia, which results in pain response to stimuli that would normally not cause pain. - Bing

I agree with the folks over on Reddit who are saying he's overdoing ketamine. He loves that shit and uses it as an emotional blanket in times of turmoil.

by Anonymousreply 1November 30, 2023 11:40 AM

He may or may not. Substance abuse is high among high-functioning autistics; however, they can also act like this without drugs.

Doesn't this describe everyone during Covid lockdowns? Substitute the Kleenex boxes for following the dictates of Marie Kondo.

by Anonymousreply 3November 30, 2023 12:19 PM

He's one seriously ugly and depraved human being.. if he even is human.

by Anonymousreply 4November 30, 2023 1:01 PM

He doesn’t have autism. Enough already.

by Anonymousreply 5November 30, 2023 1:44 PM

He's a cunt.

by Anonymousreply 6November 30, 2023 1:47 PM

He's dangerous. I can't believe his businesses are so intricately tied to national defense and NASA.

by Anonymousreply 7November 30, 2023 4:17 PM

He's programmed permanently to cunt mode. Dangerous bastard.

by Anonymousreply 8November 30, 2023 4:24 PM

[quote]I can't believe his businesses are so intricately tied to national defense and NASA.

Breaking News: EVERYONE WHOSE BUSINESSES ARE TIED TO NATIONAL DEFENSE IS EVIL.

You act like Henry Kissinger hasn’t been in the news lately.

by Anonymousreply 9November 30, 2023 4:42 PM

Please don't pick unnecessary fights. We agree.

by Anonymousreply 10November 30, 2023 4:46 PM

Mommy, I'm scared. There's something wrong with that man...

by Anonymousreply 11November 30, 2023 6:17 PM

When he shared that Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy pun (which shows he at least skimmed it), I realized that he probably thinks of himself as Zaphod Beeblebrox - the president of the galaxy, with no real function but being outrageous to pull attention away from the back chambers in which the important decisions are made. He is not particularly intelligent but dashing, audacious, and likes to gatecrash parties.

by Anonymousreply 12November 30, 2023 6:56 PM

He really doesn’t read the room very well. We all know why.

by Anonymousreply 13November 30, 2023 7:13 PM

Elmo is a 12-year-old boy trapped in the ugly body of a fabulously wealthy adult egomaniac with no boundaries, no sense of self, and completely lacking empathy. He's the posterboy for being born on third base but thinking and acting like he earned his good fortune. He has no talent beyond writing code, and even that is outdated by at least a decade now. Tesla was built by real engineers who knew what they were doing. SpaceX might as well be the NASA retirement program. And Elmo will go down in history as the worst businessman to have ever been in the position to wreck what was one of the most important communication platforms ever conceived (and in the company of buffoons like Trump, that's saying something).

Bring on the meltdown.

by Anonymousreply 14November 30, 2023 7:14 PM

See the thing is if Twitter shut down tomorrow, we'd all be fine.

by Anonymousreply 15November 30, 2023 7:33 PM

We'd be *more* than fine, r15.

by Anonymousreply 16November 30, 2023 7:36 PM

I have a much simpler explanation: he has NPD and nearly as fragile of an ego as Trump. No, he's not an "Aspie" (plus that term is no longer used). This comparison with Howard Hughes is flat-out bizarre: Musk dresses normally and clearly cares about his appearance, given how much cosmetic work he's had done. (Pictures from 25 years ago show him nearly bald even in his mid-20s. He's definitely had hair plugs & a fuckload of fillers.)

Also, looking mildly disheveled at a conference is one thing. Making a nauseatingly antisemitic remark – and subsequently going so over the top as to do an apology tour including a literal trip TO Israel AND meeting with Bibi – is far more disturbing, and has nothing to do with "being on the spectrum."

You're giving way too much credit to a grade-A asshole whose "genius" was, in hindsight, fabricated to a degree topped only by that of Trump himself.

And he didn't?

Actually when you think about it, Musk's personality is extremely similar to Howard Hughes. Paranoid, megalomaniacal, combative.

R5 I know someone who worked for him and his brother (and lived in that communal house in Mountain View) and she believes he is fairly high up on the spectrum. She also said the only time she saw humanity* was when his baby died.

*not that those on the spectrum lack humanity but he certainly does.

by Anonymousreply 20November 30, 2023 9:37 PM

He may indeed be on the ASD Spectrum. So what? I have Three diagnosed individuals with Autism in my family. (I know Mary!)

I've seen MELTDOWNS. I know what Executive dysfunction looks like. (Neurological hallmark of Autism). Check the rampant inability or challenges in Social exchange and communication.

What this man Exhibits is the ravages of a mind sealed in Grandiosity (or N.P.D.), and strung-out by long-term Substance Abuse.

by Anonymousreply 21November 30, 2023 11:00 PM

Oh look another Elon Musk thread.

by Anonymousreply 22November 30, 2023 11:02 PM

Ellen has no soul.

by Anonymousreply 23November 30, 2023 11:14 PM

The good news is he's not eligible to be president. I could easily see his appeal to MAGAts in a post-Trump world.

by Anonymousreply 24December 1, 2023 12:29 AM

More evidence to add to the mountain of evidence that Musk is a fuckin arsehole.

He should just pull the plug on Twitter and be done with it so something else can take its place.

by Anonymousreply 25December 1, 2023 12:35 AM

R22, and yet you replied.

by Anonymousreply 26December 1, 2023 1:06 AM

R22 - I'm not OP but Musk wields massive and disproportionate power around the globe because he owns Twitter. The decisions made by Musk have great influence on politics and social causes worldwide.

I assume that's why there are so many threads about him.

by Anonymousreply 27December 1, 2023 1:12 AM

R27, I DO think that's why that's it, but I think it's - to be "conspiratorial" about it - more agenda driven. Why is Elon Musk hatred a new big thing here? He's, he's a dickhead, fine

I mean, he is the new Hitler since he bought Twitter, and what has he done to earn that, exactly?

It's weird. I mean ... it's very weird.

by Anonymousreply 28December 1, 2023 1:46 AM

Because so many idiots are still riding his dick. He's a clear and present danger to the world.

by Anonymousreply 29December 1, 2023 2:19 AM

Imagine early Hitler if he was also the richest man in the world.

by Anonymousreply 30December 1, 2023 2:27 AM

R30

You realize that almost every successful titan of industry from Henry Ford to Walt Disney was a ruthless bastard with a God Complex, but it doesn’t make them Hitler.

Well, Ford got in the vicinity.

by Anonymousreply 31December 1, 2023 2:59 AM

God, can he just disappear into a reclusive cocoon as soon as possible?

Preferably without taking anyone else with him?

I don't understand why the boards of his companies aren't sick of his antics and how bad he is for all their brands... why don't they out him as CEO? He's awful. And bad at his job(s).

by Anonymousreply 32December 1, 2023 3:10 AM

[quote]Well, Ford got in the vicinity.

Which reminds me of this great bit:

"Elon Musk went from being the Henry Ford of our generation (admired carmaker, brilliant salesman) to being the Henry Ford of our generation (conspiracy theorist, bigoted Nazi-enabler)"

by Anonymousreply 33December 1, 2023 3:12 AM

R30 how is Elon Musk like Hitler?

Be specific. No jazz hands bullshit.

Compare Musk to Hitler in a way everyone can understand.

by Anonymousreply 34December 1, 2023 3:18 AM

He's a blatant anti-Semite who gives a platform to Nazis?

by Anonymousreply 35December 1, 2023 3:21 AM

When Jack Dorsey owned Twitter, the leftists loved it because they got everyone and everyone canceled for saying anything they didn’t like. Elon Musks Twitter supports free speech, and the leftists hate it.

by Anonymousreply 36December 1, 2023 4:27 AM

Elon’s Twitter supports and encourages hate speech.

by Anonymousreply 37December 1, 2023 4:38 AM

R36 is wrong, and doesn't understand what free speech even is, and certainly doesn't seem to grasp that Elon most certainly does NOT support "free speech" (he censors more than anyone). And giving a platform to Nazis is not "free speech", it's grossly irresponsible.

by Anonymousreply 38December 1, 2023 5:35 AM

[quote]the new Hitler since he bought Twitter, and what has he done to earn that, exactly?

Oh, I dunno, maybe unleash antisemitism across the globe? Platformed hate, misogyny, rape, and murder of groups based on their identity? Burn the town square down and hope that what arises from the ashes becomes a force for pure evil?

by Anonymousreply 39December 1, 2023 3:43 PM

He's a narcissist. He's had X number of children with Y women because he thinks there is something special in his genes that needs to be continued in future generations.

by Anonymousreply 40December 1, 2023 3:52 PM

[quote]He's had X number of children

Please tell me this double entendre was intentional.
