[italic]”Ackland and his wife Rosemary were married for 51 years. They had seven children, thirty-two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.”[/italic]

by Anonymousreply 8November 19, 2023 9:34 PM

r8 Show some respect and spell her name correctly.

by Anonymousreply 9November 19, 2023 10:18 PM

He is the Farrah Fawcett to Roslyn’s Michael Jackson.

by Anonymousreply 10November 19, 2023 10:26 PM

He was in DL fave White Mischief.

by Anonymousreply 11November 19, 2023 10:26 PM

R7, he was South African.

by Anonymousreply 12November 19, 2023 10:30 PM

[quote]He is the Farrah Fawcett to Roslyn’s Michael Jackson.

Or Federico Fellini to River Phoenix.

Both died on Halloween 1993, but the latter received *way* more news coverage at the time.

I suppose because River was only 23 and it was all so sudden and shocking, whereas Fellini was already in his seventies and had already suffered two strokes earlier that year.

by Anonymousreply 16November 19, 2023 10:53 PM

He was good on Supernatural.

by Anonymousreply 17November 19, 2023 10:54 PM

Dataloungers never let you down. I knew you bitches would remember him as the original Juan Perón in Evita.

by Anonymousreply 18November 19, 2023 11:34 PM

I was the original Perón.

by Anonymousreply 19November 19, 2023 11:38 PM

^^ Only on DL do we have this conversation.

by Anonymousreply 20November 19, 2023 11:43 PM

He was also deliciously nasty as a Soviet bureaucrat in the amazing HBO miniseries Citizen X.

by Anonymousreply 21November 20, 2023 12:17 AM

Patti commented yet?

by Anonymousreply 22November 20, 2023 12:21 AM

r23

one of my absolute favorite videos on YT... I love the moment at 4:40 she Patti missed his arm and how Joss just flicks the ashes on the ground... is that something people used to do?

by Anonymousreply 24November 20, 2023 12:48 AM

Jerry Westerby in the miniseries of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Such a shame we never got the Honourable Schoolboy miniseries.

by Anonymousreply 25November 20, 2023 12:52 AM

[quote]R12 he was South African.

Born in London.

by Anonymousreply 26November 20, 2023 12:58 AM

Seth Efrica.

He did play a South African villain.

by Anonymousreply 27November 20, 2023 1:09 AM

Jish jizzed.

by Anonymousreply 28November 20, 2023 1:09 AM

Before Evita, he also played Fredrik in the original London production of A Little Night Music, opposite Jean Simmons.

A 95 year old Brit born in 1928. Talk about a front seat to history.

by Anonymousreply 29November 20, 2023 1:15 AM

He appeared in drag in [italic]White Mischief[/italic]. Not a good look.

by Anonymousreply 30November 20, 2023 2:57 AM

A couple of his other roles:

1) He played a nasty man in "Midsomer Murders" who unexpectedly dies. The episode also stars DL fave Sian Phillips.

2) He plays the owner of a diamonds company in the 2008 film "Flawless" with Michael Caine & Demi Moore.

He had the best guilty grin I have ever seen, r25, and was perfectly cast, as was everybody on they great series.

The silly movie with Gary Oldman didn’t compare.

by Anonymousreply 33November 20, 2023 8:34 AM

Great character actor. RIP.

by Anonymousreply 34November 21, 2023 12:55 AM
