Bearking....
That's Rosalynn, of course. In my hurry to not be called Hitler I didn't preview before posting.
I'm heating up the grease for my fire as I type...

Op, yours was the post I found in search before I posted.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 19, 2023 8:40 PM |
Reaching the age 96 , and married for 77 years, is a hell of a long run. A life well lived.
RIP Rosalyn, you will very much be missed.

I'm not saying I'm hoping Jimmy goes quickly, but after so many years together, I hope they're not apart for too long.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 19, 2023 8:42 PM |
But Henry Kissinger still lives....
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 19, 2023 8:43 PM |
Wow. I can't imagine being married to anyone for 77 years. That's pretty amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 19, 2023 8:45 PM |
You said it all, R4! A shining example of a good person.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 19, 2023 8:45 PM |
I'm legit crying as I type. I maybe deserve a MARY! for it, but I don't care.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 19, 2023 8:46 PM |
She was a model human being. The essence of decency and compassion. I also hope they arent apart for too long.

Jimmy and Rosalynn were REAL christians who lived truly Godly lives. Not like all these trash Trumptards.

What do Jimmy Carter and the Long Island Railroad have in common? They both pull out of Roslyn at 7:05.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 19, 2023 9:19 PM |
Even my right wing family members say that Jimmy and Rosalynn were good people, through and through.
What an amazing life she lived.

Someone on MSNBC just said that she will be buried under a willow tree at their home in Plains, GA. I think I heard them say that after Jimmy dies, the land will become part of the Carter Center properties and will become public.

He will be very soon to follow. She was a very together lady. She was what you could be proud of in a First Lady. They were a beautiful couple. They didnāt push their religion on anyone. They had class. The real kind.

I admit that I was a child during their presidency and mostly knew them through their being skewered in Mad Magazine.
But they seem to have been exemplary in both public and private life.

Soulmates. Hopefully they will be reunited soon.

OP is worse than the Shah.

R21, was there another thread? I didn't see any but OP's in search when I started to post.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 20, 2023 8:15 PM |
I'm pretty sure my thread was the first, R22, but there's no need to defend it/me. I've been compared to the former Shah of Iran many times... Well, okay. I've never been compared to him before. But it's such a nice change from Hitler that I'll just bend over and present hole to R21. That should make her day.
And now, back to actual news and discussion...
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 20, 2023 9:05 PM |
Original thread linked below. It was started just a couple of minutes before yours.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 20, 2023 9:52 PM |
How do you determine that, R24? Nothing in my search indicated the time a thread was posted -only the date.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 20, 2023 10:16 PM |
Because I was āmonitoringā threads at the time, and the other posted first. Yours was then posted a couple of minutes later. The original thread had 12 replies when yours had only two.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 20, 2023 10:28 PM |
R25, the screwed up title pushed it off the search page.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 20, 2023 10:28 PM |
Well, all I can offer in my "defense" is that the other thread didn't show up in my search, and only appeared on my screen a few minutes after I started this one.
Hell, the lady deserves multiple threads anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 20, 2023 10:39 PM |
RIP great lady

The DL search function (such as it is) only processes threads and posts after about 30 minutes. When thereās breaking news the best thing to do is scroll to see whether a thread has been posted already. It likely has. So when Liza dies, remember this.

Liza will never die! She is immortal!
