Reaching the age 96 , and married for 77 years, is a hell of a long run. A life well lived.

RIP Rosalyn, you will very much be missed.

I'm not saying I'm hoping Jimmy goes quickly, but after so many years together, I hope they're not apart for too long.

She was a model human being. The essence of decency and compassion. I also hope they arent apart for too long.

Someone on MSNBC just said that she will be buried under a willow tree at their home in Plains, GA. I think I heard them say that after Jimmy dies, the land will become part of the Carter Center properties and will become public.

He will be very soon to follow. She was a very together lady. She was what you could be proud of in a First Lady. They were a beautiful couple. They didn’t push their religion on anyone. They had class. The real kind.

I admit that I was a child during their presidency and mostly knew them through their being skewered in Mad Magazine.

But they seem to have been exemplary in both public and private life.

I'm pretty sure my thread was the first, R22, but there's no need to defend it/me. I've been compared to the former Shah of Iran many times... Well, okay. I've never been compared to him before. How do you determine that, R24? Nothing in my search indicated the time a thread was posted -only the date.

Because I was “monitoring” threads at the time, and the other posted first. Yours was then posted a couple of minutes later. The original thread had 12 replies when yours had only two.

R25, the screwed up title pushed it off the search page.

Well, all I can offer in my "defense" is that the other thread didn't show up in my search, and only appeared on my screen a few minutes after I started this one.

Hell, the lady deserves multiple threads anyway.

The DL search function (such as it is) only processes threads and posts after about 30 minutes. When there’s breaking news the best thing to do is scroll to see whether a thread has been posted already. It likely has. So when Liza dies, remember this.
