I have access via the app and as a Prime channel, and it is constantly crashing or just not loading. I’ve uninstalled and re-installed. When I do manage to get in, it never remembers my list or previous watches. I have a FireTV and don’t have these problems with any other streamer. I’ve been trying to watch the latest episode of Fellow Travelers since Friday!
Paramount + is THE WORST.

Paramount needs to get out of the game or get serious. I have the same issues on Roku, Fire TV, or casting from my phone. Whoever designed their app is a moron. It seems to want to load too much too quickly--like playing video for whatever they're highlighting--before it loads anything else and then everything just gets stuck. And if the app does open fully, and you scroll to something you want to watch-- which is always glotchy to do--it takes forever for it to actually scroll, so you hit scroll again and then it scrolls way past your target. Horrible app.

The app works fine on my Sony TV, iphone, ipad, and in a browser on my laptop.
I'm thinking user error.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 19, 2023 5:19 PM |
OP I am having the same fucking problem! I have been struggling with it for two damned years. I want to watch something. I subscribe. $5.99. Great. But then the same thing happens repeatedly. I wrestle with it, blaming myself and my equipment, finally I cancel. Time passes. I jump in one more time. Same damned thing. I am through with Paramount + .Until they get their shit together I am never getting scammed by them again.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 19, 2023 5:22 PM |
I access it through Apple TV and have never had an issue.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 19, 2023 5:25 PM |
Paramount Plus is notorious for this. It’s really a garbage app. I’m 99% opposed to torenting; I’d make the exception for them.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 19, 2023 5:25 PM |
If you Google "why is PAramount + such a problem? " you will get countless bullshit answers about how your internet connection is too slow, or try this, then try that, etc.etc.etc. If you're new to it you will try all kinds of things and think it is something wrong on your end, but the problem is so widespread and so common you would think the network would realize the f uck up is on their end. I have absolutely no problems with PBS, Prime, Netflix, or Hulu.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 19, 2023 5:29 PM |
Paramount+ works fine on Firestick for me.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 19, 2023 5:36 PM |
R2, R4, and R7 are all Paramount+ employees sent here to provoke us and make us feel inadequate and depressed.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 19, 2023 5:39 PM |
Don’t get it through Prime. I’ve never had a problem.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 19, 2023 5:40 PM |
Paramount has been dicking around with its own TV service for 50 years, and they still don't care.
In 1977, they were supposed to launch as the fourth TV network with a Star Trek reboot. They signed everyone up and then just let it die.
Two decades later, UPN was a joke. Now Paramount+ has crappy content and a crappy app.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 19, 2023 5:44 PM |
I’ve never had an issue with Paramount.
Netflix, however…

I wonder if it matter when you watch it? I mean time of day, or day of the week. Maybe when the traffic is too heavy, demand is too high, it crashes or slows down?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 19, 2023 6:02 PM |
I canceled my subscription because the app was so bad.

Several years back, I watched some Netflix original movie on the day of release and it kept crashing. I also remember a couple of years ago, HBO Max was crashing when Mare of Easttown on a couple of Sunday night airings/releases.
I'm off from work on Fridays and I've been watching Fellow Travelers in the mornings on Paramount+. I haven't had issues with crashing or slowing down. I also watched the first two episodes of The Curse on Friday morning and worked it fine.

It’s equipment and someone’s ancient equipment trying to get off watching the Bommer series. Don’t feel sorry for the cheap old ass.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 19, 2023 7:16 PM |
The Max app is also terrible. My god, it just hangs and hangs and hangs.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 19, 2023 9:25 PM |
My LG smart TV also doesn't play nice with the Paramount + app. I have to use my Roku, iPad, or laptop to watch something on it. The worst app to ever app.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 19, 2023 9:38 PM |
Hate Paramount + too. It’s unbelievably slow. There are other apps that are kind of slow on my TVs but nowhere near as bad as Paramount.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 19, 2023 9:52 PM |
Not only is it slow and messing up constantly, they force you to sign in every fucking time you want to watch something, and then while you're signing in, they drop the connection and you have to start allll over again. I hate them.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 19, 2023 11:34 PM |
Are those of you who are complaining trying to access Paramount+ on your phones? I have no problem using it on my laptop, with Firefox as my browser. The only glitch I have is that they recently reset something, and now I have to click "play" three times to get an episode to play (I also watch The Young and the Restless on weeknights). But once I do that, I'm in.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 19, 2023 11:37 PM |
I have no issues with Paramount Plus on any of my devices including Fire Cube.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 19, 2023 11:42 PM |
Complaining here does you no good. Go and complain on Twitter. If you are loud enough they will do anything to keep you quiet
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 19, 2023 11:46 PM |
I've been a Paramount+ subscriber for almost three years now. Never had one issue with it in all that time. No, dumbass: I'm not a Paramount employee.

Um... How much of an idiot do you have to be to understand that if the app doesn't open--now follow me here--the user can't be using the app incorrectly? It's a fucking app, not a computer program. The user isn't writing formulas; IF the app opens and functions, all the user is doing is scrolling and selecting something to watch. Some of you must be so desperate to feel superior in some small way in your life that you're telling those for whom the app isn't working that the user is the issue, never realizing how stupid you sound. They aren't writing the fucking code, you morons.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 20, 2023 2:11 AM |
The app freezes up on smart TVs and older Roku devices without the additional RAM and processing power of the newer 4K units.
The app crashing has nothing to do with internet connection.

Um...how much of an idiot do you have to be to understand that if the app doesn't open--now follow me here--the can absolutely be at fault for the problem, ranging from conflicting settings to conflicting other programs loaded to a plethora of other user-related problems.

Yes because complaining here is going to make it better. Morons.

But I ain't taking the fall for this.

I'm with R4. I stream Paramount+ via AppleTV and have never had an issue. I watch Fellow Travelers on there and have not had any problems.
Sorry OP, maybe the problem is with your device.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 21, 2023 2:07 PM |
I subscribed to Paramount+ w/Showtime about 2 weeks ago so I could watch Fellow Travelers. I went directly to Paramount + - not Prime or other embedded streaming service. Downloaded the app on both TV's (Sony & LG - 4K). No issues at all - I have fiber internet which is usually 150mbps or higher - not sure if that is a factor in others having issues. When I set up my LG I had to sign in initially, then I just press the quick access button on the remote and I'm in to view what is in my watch list and select the program. No buffering or glitches on either TV.

R30 how old is your TV?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 21, 2023 3:45 PM |
R31 - Sony is 6 years old - 55" Bravia XBR 4K, LG is 6 months old - 55" OLED model C2 w/really impressive 4K picture (OLED) compared to Sony LED. May replace Sony w/LG C3 (improved processor over C2) as the OLED picture is far superior to Sony LED. I know Sony makes OLED as well but those tiny little legs at the base don't suit my setup whereas the LG has a center pedestal.

I canceled the DirecTV subscription, pay for Max, Netflix, Paramount+, Prime and Peacock+. I experience the same issues listed above with Netflix on all three televisions, two Sony and one LG, using Roku Sticks. I'd cancel Netflix but it has quite a bit of decent content, and I've been a subscriber since 2000, mailing DVDs back and forth.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 21, 2023 4:22 PM |
Netflix has always run smoothly for me. Paramount, and to a lesser extent Prime, are slow as fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 21, 2023 7:39 PM |
I'm jumping in to say the app is fucking up for me too! I have a 4K Samsung and Fire Stick (both a year and a half old). I subscribe to Paramount+ without commercials. I've tried clearing cache, restarting the app/Firestick, downloading updates, everything! It is slow to load, pixelates heavily for a good 45 seconds and doesn't know how to "skip intro" on shows like Amazing Race. I did online searches for solutions and nothing helps. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Nothing is more annoying than when the audio doesn't match up with the video (looks like everything is horribly dubbed).
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 21, 2023 8:37 PM |
R33 - If my 6 year old Sony TV can stream Paramount+ w/Showtime via WiFi (no firestick) I don't get why your newer Samsung is having issues. Why do you have a firestick connected to a smart TV (regardless of brand) when you can install the apps you want/use on the TV w/o a Firestick (or other peripheral device) to connect to a specific app (Max, Prime, Paramount +, etc.) My Sony is old (by todays standards but is 4K, Bluetooth, wireless/WiFi) whereas my LG C2 OLED is only 6 months old and works in approximately the same way as the Sony although the LG does have many great features the Sony doesn't. I did have to log both TV's into my fiber gateway initially to utilize the WiFi which works great w/o a repeater or signal booster - hence the ability to stream anything anywhere in the house.
Anyway, glad I'm not having the issues that some are on this thread - could it be the type of ISP provider or type of service (cable, fiber, satellite). I know I'd be pissed too if I'd tried all kinds of methods to resolve the issues you have at the moment.

They know you're all cocksuckers from your viewing choices and they're homophobes.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 22, 2023 12:16 AM |
Yes, a streaming network airing the most prestigious gay series of the year, complete with snowballing and butt fucking, is trying to make their platform specifically hard for gays to access. Sound reasoning there, r37.
OP here. I tried to get access via the app and as a Prime channel. The app wouldn’t load, and the channel was saying the shows I wanted to watch were not available. I was finally able to get in, but had to delete the app, go to the website and enter all my info again and reinstall. It then worked fine on my tv (3 year old Toshiba FireTV). I suspect it will do this again.
I have had little to no issues with the apps I have or used to have—and I’ve had almost all of them, even though I have gotten rid of some. The only other one that sometimes sucks is Peacock, but I hardly ever watch it and I get it for free.
