Rosalyn Carter 96 has entered hospice care

Apparently it was only Jimmy, 99, who was under hospice care but now both are. They are both at home in Plains to respect their privacy.

These 2 kiddos have been married since 1946, 67 years.

They have been married 77 years.

Truly amazing. I think I would get very, very sick of someone by then.

by Anonymousreply 2November 18, 2023 1:54 PM

Thank R1 math was never my strongest

by Anonymousreply 3November 18, 2023 1:57 PM

I hope Jimmy can hang on until he turns 100. If Rosalyn can make it to 100 they will also manage to get 81 years of marriage in.

by Anonymousreply 4November 18, 2023 2:28 PM

He’s hung in a long time for being on hospice care.

by Anonymousreply 5November 18, 2023 2:47 PM

My favorite living ex-president.

by Anonymousreply 6November 18, 2023 2:54 PM

To put that in context, they got married around the time this happened:

It's much better than running to and fro to the doctor, they're home where they're happy and still attended. God bless them.

Try to imagine a 19-year-old bride today getting married in a dress like this...

I wish them both comfort and peace and the love of their family and friends.

I'll put R7's post in perspective. V-J Day was 6 weeks before my Mother's 5th birthday. She died last December at 82.

by Anonymousreply 10November 18, 2023 3:33 PM

I'll bet they pass within hours of one another, when the time does come.

Met both of them at a Habitat event in Los Angeles circa 1995. Took time out to meet with all the volunteers to thank us for our time. Spent a moment or two with small groups of us before departing. Truly wonderful people.

Just let me die already, hanging on like a vegetable, no way.

by Anonymousreply 13November 18, 2023 3:49 PM

We make bulk deliveries there.

Nice R9. Why was Jimmy Carter never mentioned on the “surprisingly hot” threads, right next to young Stalin and Gerald Ford?

by Anonymousreply 15November 18, 2023 5:11 PM

r15 it was the lingering scent of peanut oil

The last President of the United States that wasn’t picked by some secret society.

by Anonymousreply 17November 18, 2023 6:06 PM

OP, did you have to say KIDDOS?

KIDDOS, OP?

by Anonymousreply 18November 18, 2023 6:19 PM

Lovely people and true Christians who follow the faith with humility and offering charity for others.

I wish them peace.

by Anonymousreply 19November 18, 2023 7:13 PM

They've done so many good things to help people.

[quote] The last President of the United States that wasn’t picked by some secret society.

You say that like his Presidency was admirable.

by Anonymousreply 21November 18, 2023 7:40 PM

Still so young.

by Anonymousreply 22November 18, 2023 7:41 PM

R18 it’s yet another indignity of being old

by Anonymousreply 23November 18, 2023 10:28 PM

He was arrogant and she was a scold.

Just sayin,

by Anonymousreply 24November 18, 2023 10:35 PM

Yeah, but you're dead.

by Anonymousreply 25November 18, 2023 10:36 PM

R18 and R23, are you kiddos okay?

by Anonymousreply 26November 18, 2023 10:36 PM

His Presidency WAS admirable, and his post-Presidency even more so.

by Anonymousreply 27November 18, 2023 10:38 PM

Easy to say, R13.

by Anonymousreply 28November 18, 2023 10:44 PM

[quote]You say that like his Presidency was admirable.

Well, not as admirable as Trump's, of course, but still admirable.

She died and now she's entered hospice care?

That's how you can tell when someone's not faking it.
