Absolutely no reason for Deadline to print this, the show would never be revived without Willie Garson. I’ve seen this story pushed on Deadline before too. The last time Disney even said it had no interest in doing and that was during peak streaming.
Bomer should just get out of CAA if they can’t find him new work.

He’s doing this because Suits is such a huge show on Netflix now. Different audiences though, Suits is more for women.
Bomer can act fine but if he wants to revive White Collar it’s because he still feels entitled to be a star. Most aging pretty boys simply have a shelf life and then they have to go into character work, ie Cary Elwes.
And it has nothing to do with being gay because older Pedro Pascal is doing gangbusters.

They should just do occasional movies like Psych does, rather than trying to do a series or limited run series.
There are lots of shows that would be fun as a movie every couple years, rather than trying to cobble together an entire new series.

OP, it’s being floated because Hollywood is completely out of ideas, and because he’s a hottie and still a big gay draw — a great demographic, as we are loyal to companies advertising to us, and we also have an outsized social media presence = no-expense marketing.

Additionally, you do realize that streaming doesn't rely heavily on advertisers (which is the reason most gay and lesbian content is relegated to streaming?)
Gay people weren't a big audience for White Collar anyway, it was a very middle America show.
