Peppermint Patty was such a bitch in this one. I never liked it even as a child.

by Anonymousreply 1November 17, 2023 7:55 PM

Peppermint Patty called up Chuck and invited herself, Marci and Franklin over for Thanksgiving dinner. Snoopy prepared a feast consisting of buttered toast, popcorn, pretzels and jellybeans.

by Anonymousreply 2November 17, 2023 8:00 PM

Then Peppermint Patty started bitching “what kind of Thanksgiving dinner is this”?!!

by Anonymousreply 3November 17, 2023 8:01 PM

I liked Lucy and Peppermint Patty and Sally because they were bitchy.

by Anonymousreply 4November 17, 2023 8:02 PM

Peppermint Patty and Marci were lesbian

by Anonymousreply 5November 17, 2023 8:04 PM

Peppermint Patty’s real name is Pricilla

by Anonymousreply 6November 17, 2023 8:09 PM

What do you think Charlie Brown's grandma said when he showed up for Thanksgiving dinner with a lesbian couple and a black kid?

by Anonymousreply 7November 17, 2023 8:15 PM

[quote]What do you think Charlie Brown's grandma said when he showed up for Thanksgiving dinner with a lesbian couple and a black kid?

In 1973, that would definitely have been a shock in real life. But the cartoon deliberately made it seem like no big deal at all. Want to set a good example for the kids.

I know I wasn’t 15 when this first aired.

by Anonymousreply 9November 17, 2023 8:50 PM

Never mind.

by Anonymousreply 10November 17, 2023 8:52 PM

R8 Charlie Brown did call his grandmother (who lived in a condominium) beforehand and explained to her that his guests were “still here”. He told grandma that Peppermint Patty was a girl who played baseball. This should have alerted her that she was a lesbian.

Is this the one with the song, "Little Birdie"? I love that song and sing it to my three year old niece.

by Anonymousreply 13November 17, 2023 11:31 PM

They talk like little bitter adults in a child's body.

by Anonymousreply 14November 17, 2023 11:39 PM

[quote] in a child's body.

Just the one, dear?

by Anonymousreply 15November 18, 2023 12:45 AM

Lucy, Sally, Peppermint Patty were bitchy

by Anonymousreply 16November 18, 2023 4:32 PM

Peppermint Patty's real name was not (ahem) "Pricilla." The character's real full name was Patricia Reichardt. She joins Charlie and Sally Brown, and Lucy, Linus and Rerun Van Pelt as Peanuts characters whose last names were revealed. Most of the rest were not: Marcie, Schroeder, Franklin, Frieda, Violet, Shermy etc.

by Anonymousreply 17November 18, 2023 4:39 PM

R17 that’s what they said her real name was in the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving cartoon. Sorry!

by Anonymousreply 18November 18, 2023 8:39 PM

I had a crush on Schroeder.

by Anonymousreply 19November 18, 2023 8:49 PM

R17, pretty sure Schroeder's last name was revealed, it was his first name that was not.

by Anonymousreply 20November 18, 2023 8:50 PM

We played it for my niece on VHS and without commercials, it was only about 20 minutes long. She complained about it being so short.
