by Anonymousreply 7November 13, 2023 11:21 PM

It's amazing that no coyotes or bears found Finney first.

by Anonymousreply 8November 13, 2023 11:28 PM

I wish they made a video for this on The Dodo!

R12 = Dollface post

by Anonymousreply 16November 14, 2023 1:03 AM

It’s mind boggling that a wild animal wouldn’t have eaten the man’s corpse or that the dog would have survived next to a decaying corpse without attracting a predator. Something doesn’t make sense.

by Anonymousreply 17November 14, 2023 1:04 AM

How do you know he didn’t return until he knew the body was about to be discovered?

by Anonymousreply 18November 14, 2023 1:20 AM

Finney is cute. Is he up for adoption?

by Anonymousreply 19November 14, 2023 2:12 AM

Finny could be a girl. Terrier girls are the best.

by Anonymousreply 20November 14, 2023 2:13 AM

Cutest Finney since Albert.

by Anonymousreply 21November 14, 2023 2:15 AM

Richard Moore could have been a Datalounger.

by Anonymousreply 22November 14, 2023 2:19 AM

Maybe if Finney would have bothered to run for help, Rich might be alive.

by Anonymousreply 23November 14, 2023 2:21 AM

R23 is a cat.

Cats don’t run for help. They find another can opener.

by Anonymousreply 25November 14, 2023 10:11 AM

Perhaps Finny didn't lie right by the body. One assumes it had to hunt and forage. I bet he had found a hole or small niche in rock ledges, somewhere to sleep and protect himself. He returned when there were people discovering the body.

by Anonymousreply 26November 14, 2023 12:16 PM

didn't lay

by Anonymousreply 27November 14, 2023 12:16 PM

You were right the first time, R27.

by Anonymousreply 28November 14, 2023 12:38 PM

thanks

by Anonymousreply 29November 14, 2023 12:41 PM

According to friends who have them, Jack Russells are “ratters” that sometimes attack and kill other animals. The dog may well have kept some scavengers away.

by Anonymousreply 30November 14, 2023 1:46 PM

Hiking is a herd thinning mechanism.

by Anonymousreply 31November 14, 2023 1:53 PM

It’s almost biblical

“He loved his only dog so much he offered up his mortal body as the Last Supper (s)

by Anonymousreply 32November 14, 2023 2:15 PM

I am glad Finny is okay!!

Who is gonna watch over the dog!! Can I have Finny?

by Anonymousreply 33November 14, 2023 2:41 PM

Finny is a great name for a dog.

by Anonymousreply 34November 14, 2023 5:49 PM

Why are people assuming that the hikers body wasn't being eaten on by animals? I don't think it says that anywhere unless I missed it. Just because he was found doesn't mean he was found...whole.

by Anonymousreply 35November 14, 2023 5:53 PM

What is known about dogs eating their masters? Are they more likely to eat them if they have caught them bottoming?

by Anonymousreply 36November 14, 2023 5:56 PM

R36

Think of it like a prime filet at your upscale steak house. Have you ever thought about the sex habits of the cow as you get ready to chow down.

If the answer is yes do you have any other cow stories to share? Asking for a friend.

by Anonymousreply 37November 14, 2023 6:11 PM

Lassie would have gone for help.
