Barris said he was much better as the Unknown Comic, which was a gimmick Langston came up with because he didn't want to be associated with the show..

The Unknown Comic infamous late 70s poster. When I saw this in Spencer’s gifts as a kid, I felt things.

The Unknown Comic was sort of out as Murray Langston in the late 70s and 80s. He produced and starred in several films and was on TV shows as himself, or releasing an album or interview or something, occasionally referencing the character (as Murray).

I remember watching The Gong Show movie on cable and was shocked at what a foul mouth Jaye P Morgan had. They also showed the uncensored scene of her showing her tits. I was a little kid and had so much respect for her on the Gong Show.
