BREAKING: Iceland declares state of emergency over volcanic eruption threat

Who knows. I'm not saying this is it, but when Mother Nature does decide to level us, I'm thinking it will be abruptly.

I’m all for anything that breaks up the monotony of daily boredom and greed in the world. I never like to get my hopes up for world-changing events though, because I’m always disappointed when nothing happens or when things inevitably just go back to the status quo. If I can’t see full scale of nuclear war or complete societal collapse during my lifetime, I at least want to witness either a massive planetary impact or an eruption with global effects. A giant tsunami wouldn’t hurt either. Something FFS 😒

Oh cool! I remember when the last Icelandic volcano with the unpronounceable name erupted about ten years ago and all flights in Europe were grounded for something like the days. My boss was in Europe when it happened and it gave us all a very nice ten day reprieve!
