My name STILL isn't Coleman, you fat whores!

by Anonymousreply 1November 11, 2023 10:32 PM

It's based on a true story. Spoiler alert for linked article...

Looks really good. Olivia Colman is always excellent.

by Anonymousreply 3November 11, 2023 10:40 PM

Jeeze! The Guardian gave it 1 star!

It can't be as good as Tiny Secret Whispers.

by Anonymousreply 5November 11, 2023 10:49 PM

Jessie Buckley plays some weird characters, she is a good actress

by Anonymousreply 7May 25, 2024 6:46 PM

it's on Apple TV

by Anonymousreply 8May 25, 2024 7:13 PM

Definitely need close-caption with their horrible diction.

by Anonymousreply 9May 25, 2024 7:30 PM

Olivia is one sexy whore

by Anonymousreply 10May 25, 2024 8:01 PM

Olivia Colman is only 50, she has looked 50 for the last 20 years

by Anonymousreply 11May 25, 2024 8:05 PM

Just seeing the preview in 'coming attractions' was more than enough. Crude, lurid, over-acted, pointless. 'The Guardian' review confirms my impression. What a waste of talent.

by Anonymousreply 12May 25, 2024 8:22 PM

Colman is looking awfully pillowy these days....

by Anonymousreply 13May 25, 2024 8:30 PM

It's camp, R12 -- I thought you guys liked camp!

by Anonymousreply 14May 25, 2024 8:35 PM

If the humor goes beyond the shock and titillation of saying things like "cum rag" and talking of shoving things up various orafices, then it could be good.

by Anonymousreply 15May 25, 2024 8:35 PM

We watched it. Was an okay Sunday afternoon movie.

by Anonymousreply 16May 25, 2024 8:35 PM

Not even halfway through and I already figured it out.

Some people will do anything for attention.

Oh well.

by Anonymousreply 17May 25, 2024 9:21 PM

Yeah, it wasn’t a heavy thinkin’ kinda movie ^^

by Anonymousreply 18May 25, 2024 10:22 PM

Olivia Colman, a Miriam Margolyes in waiting.

by Anonymousreply 19May 25, 2024 10:22 PM

R17 I haven't seen it yet but it seems rather obvious who the guilty party is right off the bat.

by Anonymousreply 20May 25, 2024 10:56 PM

She is not an attractive woman.

by Anonymousreply 21May 25, 2024 11:00 PM

I saw it and enjoyed it. Very good cast obviously having a ball. The actual story is much darker, btw.

by Anonymousreply 22May 25, 2024 11:00 PM

You don't even need to see the film to learn that it's the recipient of the letters who is also the sender.

Wikipedia saves a lot of wasted time at the cinema.

by Anonymousreply 23May 25, 2024 11:01 PM

[Quote]Olivia Colman, a Miriam Margolyes in waiting.

Nailed it.

Who will fart in her face a la Schwarzenegger? I could see Connor McGregor doing it.

by Anonymousreply 24May 25, 2024 11:32 PM

I just cannot warm to Colman. She is like a retarded half human half Labrador. I put Jamie Oliver in the same camp. They have doughy, Down Syndrome looking faces, annoying over eager voices, and an air of hyperactivity that makes me feel anxious.

by Anonymousreply 25May 25, 2024 11:34 PM

Colman insists upon us liking her. Not in a Sally Field way, but as some bird who pretends she doesn't take herself seriously and you can have a bawdy time with.

She's determined to be a 'national treasure'.

by Anonymousreply 26May 25, 2024 11:41 PM

Don't understand the hate for her here. She doesn't really register yay or nay that much on my radar.

by Anonymousreply 27May 26, 2024 12:00 AM

Love Colman. Love Buckley. Just watch Fleabag if you think you do not like Colman.

This film looks INSANE

A modern Day Classic!

by Anonymousreply 28May 26, 2024 12:16 AM

Colman must be the most prolific and successful British actress of this decade, if not the century so far.

by Anonymousreply 29May 26, 2024 12:18 AM

r29- I love her- she has great taste in scripts- Fleabag, The Favorite, Empire of Light, The Lost Daughter--

love her.

by Anonymousreply 30May 26, 2024 12:39 AM

This looks insufferable

by Anonymousreply 31May 26, 2024 1:57 AM

I like her. Loved her on Peep Show. I can watch those again and again.

by Anonymousreply 32May 26, 2024 3:25 AM

I watched it last night. Highly entertaining. Olivia and Jessie are both great.

by Anonymousreply 33May 26, 2024 11:54 AM

I could’ve done without her appearance on The Bear.

by Anonymousreply 34May 26, 2024 3:58 PM

My sisters call her "Gingiva Colman".
