There have been a lot of people who were known as "that person off that tv show" who really boosted their careers by winning I'm A Celeb - Stacey Solomon had appeared on X Factor but she was so likeable it started her tv career. Very few people had heard of Georgia Toffolo before she won. And Joel Dommett didn't win but is now presenting prime time tv shows.

And last year's winner Jill Scott was not that well known as a footballer but when England won the women's Euros she became a meme swearing at a German player in the match. She retired from football and did I'm A Celebrity and is now a regular pundit and one of the most famous female footballers in the UK.

The only names I know are Lafarge and Jamie Lynn Spears. What a way to bookend the cast with dim people from different ends of the universe. Should the producers be commended?

Fred Sirieix is a well known tv presenter as well.

They're all well known people in Britain.

Nick Pickard was in Hollyoaks for years, Sam Thompson was on Made In Chelsea and is now a professional celebrity and I've never heard of Nella Rose.

I’m not sure if there’s a cash prize. I haven’t watched it in about 15 years. From what I gather, they’re just competing for the title of “king” or “queen” of the jungle and whatever questionable prestige comes with that. Most of them are just trying to revive their flagging careers or boost their public profile.

7.8 million viewers is still huge and significantly more than the "all stars" series in the summer which featured Carol Vorderman without make up and filters.

I love how the one guy in it labels what she did as teenage behavior. Yes, teens go and get emancipated all the time because they don’t want to get an abortion.

Hancock is standing down at the next election.
