Sir Kelsey Grammer was set to play Pickering but dropped out for the new Frasier
by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 8, 2023 1:06 AM |
Why remake movies that were good adaptations? Remake those that were bad adaptations.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 8, 2023 1:07 AM |
R2 It is My Fair Lady for the new millennium. It will also be less white and more accurate to the racial insensitivities of the Edwardian Era.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 8, 2023 1:08 AM |
The only casting worth anything is Sam Neill as Colonel Pickering, and even that is pushing it.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 8, 2023 1:09 AM |
What role will Matt Damon be playing?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 8, 2023 1:17 AM |
There will also be new songs
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 8, 2023 1:17 AM |
R5 I think this is the roll call:
Higgins- Robert Downey Jr.
Eliza- Emma Stone
Colonel Pickering- Sam Neill
Alfred Doolittle- Matt Damon
Mrs. Pierce- Tina Fey
Freddie- Michael B. Jordan
The Turkish guy at the ball is now a female Chinese role written for Awkwafina. She said she was excited to be in such a high caliber production.
Mrs. Higgin has not been cast, but there are rumors that Sean Young was in the studio,
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 8, 2023 1:23 AM |
R8 who's that?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 8, 2023 1:29 AM |
I thought Sam Neill was dying?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 8, 2023 1:38 AM |
[quote] I thought Sam Neill was dying?
In at least temporary remission.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 8, 2023 1:42 AM |
This will be Sam Neill's final film before his graceful retirement.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 8, 2023 1:45 AM |
What role should Matt Damon's ass play?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 8, 2023 1:48 AM |
R13 It is a side character in the show stopper Get Me to the Church on Time
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 8, 2023 1:51 AM |
Will they give Julie a cameo?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 8, 2023 1:52 AM |
[quote]What role should Matt Damon's ass play?
Dover's bloomin' arse, of course! š
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 8, 2023 1:53 AM |
So Aquafina is playing Eliza?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 8, 2023 1:55 AM |
R17 No she is a Chinese princess see R7
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 8, 2023 1:57 AM |
Thoughts on the cast?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 8, 2023 2:04 AM |
I've a feeling you're just kidding, but to me it sounds believable. Makes a better opening than that car chase scene.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 8, 2023 2:09 AM |
Will the rain in Spain still fall mainly on the plain?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 8, 2023 2:22 AM |
Sounds like a fag film to me.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 8, 2023 2:23 AM |
Will Eliza's speech impediment be a lisp?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 8, 2023 2:25 AM |
Whereās the link?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 8, 2023 2:31 AM |
CONFIRMED- Sean Young as Mrs. Higgins, Henry's mother.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 8, 2023 2:49 AM |
A high caliber production!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 8, 2023 2:50 AM |
You do know that Sam Neill is terminally ill with Cancer? He may not make it to work on this movie. I really like him too. I was sad to hear of his cancer.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 8, 2023 2:55 AM |
R27 I guess he will be replaced by Kelsey Grammer then
Or maybe Sir Kenneth Branagh
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 8, 2023 2:59 AM |
Sir Kelsey Grammer, excuse me
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 8, 2023 2:59 AM |
Is this the one where I'm Harriet Tubman?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 8, 2023 3:27 AM |
What's with the "Sir"?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 8, 2023 3:27 AM |
1/10, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 8, 2023 3:29 AM |
r31 what do you mean?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 8, 2023 3:47 AM |
Due to scheduling conflicts, Emma Stone has dropped out of 2025ās eagerly anticipated My Fair Lady remake from director Ari Aster. Negotiations are under way with Jennifer Garner to take over the role. Garner has never received an Oscar nomination. Aster told us, āI wanted to be a director ever since I was a teenager and watched and re-watched Elektra and 13 Going On 30. How is it possible that the Academy hasnāt even bothered to nominate Garner yet? It astounds me. She is an acting legend. I will make sure My Fair Lady is structured as a global showcase for her impressive on-screen range and singing abilityā.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 8, 2023 3:52 AM |
I'm sure this remake will be every bit as successful as the West Side Story remake.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 8, 2023 3:56 AM |
Who's set for costumer?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 8, 2023 4:00 AM |
R33, I'm writing in English, but okay, here: Americans aren't "Sir."
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 8, 2023 4:05 AM |
La La Land proved conclusively that Emma Stone can't sing for shit, so now we want her in a role that taxed Julie Andrews? Plus she's a decade (at least) too old.
It's not as though the popular music world is short on guttersnipes you could cast.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 8, 2023 4:27 AM |
[quote]a role that taxed Julie Andrews?
Don't you mean Audrey Hepburn?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 8, 2023 4:57 AM |
Er, no, I mean the woman who made singing-Eliza famous, Julie Andrews. Who still found it quite tough, though of course she was doing seven or eight shows a week, not filming a movie.
Audrey Hepburn didn't have a prayer, but are you saying they're going to dub Emma? In that case, why not use someone young and pretty?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 8, 2023 5:04 AM |
Why can't they get a British actress? It would seem like they could do that. Jennifer Garner would be a disaster.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | November 8, 2023 1:01 PM |
Brie Larson will replace Emma Stone!
The rest of the stellar cast includes Robert Downey Jr, Matt Damon, Sean Young, Damon Wayans Jr., Awkwafina, Michael B. Jordan, Tina Fey, and Sir Kelsey Grammer.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 8, 2023 1:34 PM |
Ruth E. Carter for costumes
by Anonymous | reply 43 | November 8, 2023 1:46 PM |
What a shit show. Hollywood is out of ideas.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | November 8, 2023 1:51 PM |
Can't wrap my head around RDJ as Higgins.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | November 8, 2023 1:52 PM |
Wasn't "West Side Story" bad enough? Will there be a special cameo just for Julie, as their was for Rita in WSS? Wait til Billy Porter finds out he's not in the cast! Or no Dylan Mulvaney as Eliza! Horrors...
by Anonymous | reply 46 | November 8, 2023 1:58 PM |
Rachel Zegler as Eliza is the career resurrection she needs right now.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 8, 2023 2:02 PM |
I cannit get "Ari Aster" and "My Fair Lady" together. It's like David Lynch remake of Mrs. Doubtfire.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 8, 2023 2:04 PM |
Margot Robbie would be a good choice for Eliza.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 8, 2023 2:11 PM |
Hmm, in todays time Higgins will be non-binary, Eliza will be a Latina Trans, Pickering will be Black.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | November 8, 2023 2:18 PM |
Sam Neils' cancer is in remission.
Please stop repeating Daily Mail bullshit.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | November 8, 2023 2:29 PM |
The stratified social classes in England were the core of the original, and if they get t oo cute with their casting, they are going to shit all over the premise of the story. Dumbasses.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | November 8, 2023 4:14 PM |
Wooden tit be loverly?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | November 8, 2023 5:12 PM |
[quote]Who's set for costumer?
I'm available!
by Anonymous | reply 54 | November 8, 2023 5:23 PM |
But Robert Downey Jr is a great actor
by Anonymous | reply 55 | November 8, 2023 5:23 PM |
I think it will be GREAT
by Anonymous | reply 56 | November 8, 2023 5:25 PM |
The WSS remake was a masterpiece.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | November 8, 2023 5:39 PM |
Obviously Patti LuPone will be reuniting with her Beau Is Afraid director to play Mrs. Higgins.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | November 8, 2023 5:48 PM |
R44 How is it a shit show? No way.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | November 8, 2023 5:51 PM |
The quote at r34 sounds like someoneās taking the piss. In fact this whole thread does.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | November 8, 2023 6:02 PM |
R58, Patti was so perfectly cast in Beau is Afraid. I am deeply ambivalent about the film itself. Very indulgent and too fucking long.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | November 8, 2023 6:09 PM |
Well Sean Young beat out Patti LuPone for Mrs. Higgins
by Anonymous | reply 62 | November 8, 2023 6:11 PM |
But can Robert Downey, Jr. actually sing?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | November 8, 2023 6:11 PM |
Jennifer Garner is 51 years old.
That's rather long in the tooth to be playing Eliza.
And does Jennifer sing?
by Anonymous | reply 64 | November 8, 2023 6:21 PM |
Rex Harrison couldn't sing either
by Anonymous | reply 65 | November 8, 2023 6:28 PM |
Gwenyth Paltrow could play Eliza.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | November 8, 2023 6:36 PM |
I'm available!!
by Anonymous | reply 67 | November 8, 2023 6:45 PM |
I'm excited for this
by Anonymous | reply 68 | November 8, 2023 8:45 PM |
Carey Mulligan was once considered for the role of Eliza, and John Madden was set to direct.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | November 9, 2023 2:53 AM |
This is actually a real thing and not a bogus thread.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | November 9, 2023 2:54 AM |
NOOO!
by Anonymous | reply 71 | November 9, 2023 2:57 AM |
Why?
by Anonymous | reply 72 | November 9, 2023 3:01 AM |
The article from R70 is from 2021.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | November 9, 2023 3:01 AM |
This is going to be a classy, elegant, and sophisticated film
by Anonymous | reply 74 | November 9, 2023 4:38 AM |
WEHT to Matthew Lopez and The Bodyguard remake?
by Anonymous | reply 75 | November 9, 2023 5:13 AM |
I'm confused
by Anonymous | reply 76 | November 9, 2023 1:17 PM |
[quote]Sam Neils' cancer is in remission. Please stop repeating Daily Mail bullshit.
It IS in remission, but his doctors have told him it will not stay that way. That's what he said himself on the episode of Australian Story. If he's lucky, new treatments will become available the longer he hangs on, but if they don't the medium-term prospects aren't good.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | November 9, 2023 1:39 PM |
Well Sir Kelsey Grammer is Pickering now
by Anonymous | reply 78 | November 13, 2023 5:29 PM |
I'm excited to see this
by Anonymous | reply 79 | November 22, 2023 4:06 PM |
Julie Andrews will be playing the Higgins, the Doolittles, the Eynsford-Hills, Colonel Pickering, and Mrs. Pearce.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | November 22, 2023 4:28 PM |
There's no one around today who remotely approaches this level of talent. I don't know if it was pre-arranged, but here Julie appears to sing off the cuff while sitting in a chair for a Dick Cavett interview.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | November 22, 2023 4:42 PM |
Matt Damon should NOT be in this movie. And Michael B. Jordan?? WTF?? Will MBJ play Freddie?
by Anonymous | reply 82 | November 22, 2023 4:45 PM |
MBJ will be around to give Eliza throat exercises.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | November 22, 2023 4:47 PM |
R82:
Higgins- Robert Downey Jr.
Eliza- Emma Stone
Colonel Pickering- Sir Kelsey Grammer
Alfred Doolittle- Matt Damon
Mrs. Pearce- Tina Fey
Freddie- Michael B. Jordan
The Turkish guy at the ball is now a female Chinese princess- Awkwafina.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | November 22, 2023 5:03 PM |
R84, Tiffany Haddish might replace Emma Stone while she films the Cruella sequel.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | November 22, 2023 5:08 PM |
You have got to be kidding.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | November 22, 2023 5:11 PM |
[quote] The Turkish guy at the ball is now a female Chinese princess- Awkwafina.
Shouldnāt he be played by Theo James?
by Anonymous | reply 87 | November 22, 2023 5:13 PM |
Thank goodness that this balderdash is just a lot of poppycock and twaddle.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | November 22, 2023 5:15 PM |
Where is ODP? Or ODJ?

by Anonymous | reply 89 | November 22, 2023 5:23 PM |
R88 You are fake news
by Anonymous | reply 90 | November 22, 2023 5:35 PM |
I think Sir Kelsey Grammer might win an Oscar for portrayal as Colonel Pickering
by Anonymous | reply 91 | December 1, 2023 9:35 PM |
At least Matt Damon plays a pig. Eliza's father was a pig. But he had a great production umber, in Get Me To The Church on Time.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | December 1, 2023 9:59 PM |
Is Matt Damon shaped like a pig?
by Anonymous | reply 93 | December 1, 2023 10:03 PM |
It could be worse. They could have chosen Natalie Portman for Eliza. that would have been a disaster.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | December 1, 2023 10:03 PM |
R94 I don't think it could get any worse to be honest.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | December 1, 2023 10:17 PM |

Jennifer Garner could get an overdue Oscar nomination as the lead Eliza.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | December 11, 2023 6:48 AM |
[quote]Jennifer Garner is 51 years old.
She should be playing Mrs. Higgins!
by Anonymous | reply 100 | December 11, 2023 11:26 AM |
Bullshit thread? None of these people can sing.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | December 11, 2023 11:31 AM |
Your point being, R101?
by Anonymous | reply 102 | December 11, 2023 12:08 PM |
R101 Maybe, but they are the GREATEST talents of all time;
Robert Downey Jr., Emma Stone, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Michael B. Jordan, Awkwafina, AND Sir Kelsey Grammer!!!!!
