Mike Johnson's Wife Runs Counseling Service That Compares Being Gay To Bestiality, Incest

The newly elected Republican House speaker and his wife, Kelly, have long intertwined their political and business lives.

“We believe and the Bible teaches that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography or any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God,” says the eight-page business document.

The House speaker’s identity as an evangelical Christian has been a driving force in his personal life and his career, which includes eight years as the senior attorney and national spokesperson for a legal nonprofit affiliated with the religious right.

“Go pick up a Bible off your shelf and read it ― that’s my worldview,” Johnson told Fox News’ Sean Hannity in a Thursday night interview. “That’s what I believe, and so I make no apologies for it.”

I want to see his internet history. He is soooo quick to condemn EVERYTHING, you know there's some shit going on.

by Anonymousreply 2October 28, 2023 4:12 AM

quel surprise.

Those religious nuts are obsessed with sex. Everyone's sex but their own because they only do it Saturday night in the dark, missionary style.

by Anonymousreply 4October 28, 2023 4:24 AM

Then they pray for forgiveness after.

by Anonymousreply 5October 28, 2023 4:24 AM

This is absolutely right! We are no better than cow-fuckers! We deserve to be mocked and ridiculed! Good for Johnson!

by Anonymousreply 6October 28, 2023 4:26 AM

Are they friends with Michelle and Marcus Bachmann?

by Anonymousreply 7October 28, 2023 4:28 AM

I was just going to say, he reminds me of Ladybird Bachman. Johnson seems to be able to tone it down though.

[quote] “Go pick up a Bible off your shelf and read it ― that’s my worldview,” Johnson told Fox News’ Sean Hannity in a Thursday night interview. “That’s what I believe, and so I make no apologies for it.”

And if he left it there, that’s fine. It’s his right as an American to exercise freedom of religion. But he’s NOT GOING to stop there. He just foreshadowed exactly how he’s going to LEGISLATE. Combine that with how he attempted to subvert Pres. Biden’s election victory, a clear foreshadowing of how Johnson GOVERNS, and we have a big mother fucking fuck up on our hands!

Makes me even more determined to start exercising my 2nd amendment rights!

by Anonymousreply 17October 28, 2023 11:49 AM

If they include adultery as equal to homosexuality as a transgression against god, how can they support Trump? Where is the outrage?

by Anonymousreply 18October 28, 2023 11:49 AM

The South is chock full of these obvious closet case politicians. It’s hard to fathom a person in this day and age feeling they have to live their life that way. Or anyone else putting their trust in a politician who’s an obvious liar about who they are. It’s so creepy.

A guy I went to high school with is a state senator in the district where my parents live. (Think Murdaugh country.)

Back in school he started bragging in the 9th grade that he had written some great speech he was going to give when he ran for student body President in 12th grade.

We rolled our eyes at him for saying he kept “the speech” locked up in a safe. He was nerdy, awkward, and obviously gay/ closeted. I don’t recall him having many friends, though people didn’t hate him or anything. He did eventually became student body President but I don’t think anyone ran against him.

Fast forward 35 years. He’s now a local politician and gave an interview to the local paper. He seemed to go way out of his way to tell some bullshit lie about how he “never planned any of this, his friends just talked him into running for student body President and one thing led to another…”

Why lie about such a stupid thing? He is also a friend of Miss Lindz and gay from space, but married to some poor woman.

Anyway, that’s who Mike Johnson reminds me of.

by Anonymousreply 19October 28, 2023 11:51 AM

There's no telling what goes on in the Johnson's bedroom when prying eyes are not upon them. These Bible crazies are more often than not the freakiest people in town behind closed doors.

by Anonymousreply 20October 28, 2023 12:01 PM

Not that it makes any difference what the Bible teaches because it is not the source of American law or even the Bill of Rights, but it says nothing about that list. The idiocy and arrogance of these folks is stupidity.

by Anonymousreply 21October 28, 2023 12:02 PM

The good thing is that the poor for the most part don't like these religious nuts who try to tell them how to live. Poor people have only one source of joy, and that's sex. That's why they have so much of it. It's free and a whole lot of fun.

by Anonymousreply 22October 28, 2023 12:11 PM

And him, obviously gay as a Christmas elf, just as small but twice as ugly.

He must be one of the wifey's "success stories"! Great job, wifey! You "cured" him, now he's just depressed, hateful, and crazy.

by Anonymousreply 23October 28, 2023 12:12 PM

Not closeted, as I said in the other thread, he is clearly an Aspie and Aspies are prone to fanaticism. Those who have spiritual inclinations may gravitate toward religious fundamentalism and cults; those without religious beliefs may gravitate toward communism.

My own personal belief is that the Prophet Mohammed was on the Spectrum which is why Islam is as severe as it is. Turn to Mecca five times a day? Autistic as fuck.

by Anonymousreply 24October 28, 2023 12:14 PM

I bet his wife pegs him.

Just sayin'.

by Anonymousreply 25October 28, 2023 12:20 PM

It's funny because the Bible doesn't mention trans people, given that wasn't a thing 2000 years ago when humans wrote it.

Yet they still say things like "any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God". How do you know that? If God didn't explicitly mention in the Bible, then where's the evidence? It just proves they make shit up. And I know that's always been obvious to anyone with half a brain but they make it even more obvious when they lump in things they didn't used to.

by Anonymousreply 26October 28, 2023 12:22 PM

What I hate is that there is this American idea that deep religious believers have some sort of discipline and morality that deserves respect and admiration.

They can say the vilest shit but because they're religious, it's OK.

No it isn't. Religion is a personal choice. They don't give the same OK to other religions.

This is why I could never live in the South - and I did live there for a few years when I was young. The Southern culture is just sooo weird and fucked up - religiosity is EVERYWHERE and it's part of a Southern identity.

by Anonymousreply 27October 28, 2023 3:29 PM

Exodus claims another success story!

by Anonymousreply 28October 28, 2023 5:15 PM

What that little bastard doesn't realize is that now he's in the position he's in, he & his crazy wife are now sitting targets and every minute shitty thing they've ever done in their lives will be ferreted out and put on public display.

by Anonymousreply 29October 28, 2023 5:28 PM

I'm sure he's fine!

There's no way he could be hiding any dark secrets, Republicans in Congress obviously do a great job of vetting people!

by Anonymousreply 30October 28, 2023 5:33 PM

R29 - but he lives in this Christian bubble in a 4th tier city in Louisiana. He thinks his positions are reasonable and right.

Welcome to the real world Jimmy. He's going to get caught in lie after lie and distortion after distortion and back-peddling.

This guy won't last long. And I suspect, neither will his marriage.

by Anonymousreply 31October 28, 2023 5:35 PM

Hey Mike and Kelly…go blow it out your assholes!

by Anonymousreply 32October 28, 2023 5:40 PM

Born James Michael Johnson January 30, 1972 (age 51) Shreveport, Louisiana, U.S. Political party Republican Spouse Kelly Lary (m. 1999) Children 4

I know the type. He's not gay, but terrified of being perceived that way. His father was a macho Firefighter and little Jimmy felt like a bookish sissy. So he's fought his whole life to not be thought of that way.

by Anonymousreply 33October 28, 2023 5:59 PM

Does anyone remember Jim McCrery? He was a GOP Louisiana Congressman, like Mike Johnson. He was featured in the documentary Outrage, which is about closeted gay men in politics who vote against gay rights.

McCrery was an atheist and didn't hide his sexuality....until he decided to run for office. He was told he couldn't win so he got a beard wife, started blabbing about the Bible, then suddenly became "electable" in Louisiana.

Anyway, Mike reminds me of Jim

Outrage is up on YouTube, or at least it used to be. I'll see if I can find a link

by Anonymousreply 34October 28, 2023 6:17 PM

R34 - looks like they're from the same city too! Shreveport.

I still think Johnson is a closeted gay man. There's something deep going on there.

by Anonymousreply 35October 28, 2023 6:36 PM

He and his bitch of a wife have certainly done a good job keeping their non-formally adopted black son out of the picture. He's now 38 years old with a family of his own. Of course they claim it was all the "son's" choice to stay out of the limelight.

She needs to shut up. A gay man is still a man and has authority over her.

R37, I just watched the documentary, then googled to see if Crist was still married...and of course they divorced back in 2017. It said he got engaged again in July 2022; any idea if they are still going through with it? He has got be absolutely exhausted keeping up his sham life.

Now just hold up here for one gosh darn minute. Those of us in the back are confused.

We would like to know: isn’t fornication how properly heterosexual people produce shiny new Christian babies and isn’t producing Christian babies the “be fruitful” part?

Why did the Almighty take this sudden turn against fornication? It sure would be nice if the Heavenly Father would set a bush on fire and speak clearly every now and then. Why did He stop doing that?

"Fornication" only applies to unmarried people, similar to the way "adultery" only occurs when one person is married.

They clearly thought they could reach the pinnacle of political success by fag-bashing. I hope it actually becomes their downfall.

Bueller?! Bueller?!?

by Anonymousreply 50October 31, 2023 1:58 AM

Probably not, R50. But such a tiny, angry man like Mike is bound to engage in domestic violence so he most likely beats her and the kids. Unless he's saving all of his "righteous" small man rage for his rentboys, which is possible I guess.

House Speaker Mike Johnson’s wife took down the website for her company, Onward Christian Counseling Services, a day after HuffPost pointed to documents on the site that compared homosexuality to bestiality and incest.

There's aspects to Kelly Johnson's 'Onward Christian Counseling Services' which I've never encountered among Christians before. Truly baffling.

"Kelly Johnson, the wife of the newly elected House speaker, ran a Christian counseling service that is affiliated with an organization that advocates against abortion and homosexuality and whose practices are built on the teachings of the Greek physician Hippocrates...

Kelly Johnson's website listed a specialty in Temperament counseling, a specialty that she received training for from an organization founded in the 1980s by a Christian couple. According to the materials the organization provides, the National Christian Counselor's Association is adamant that its offerings take place outside of more traditional state-licensed settings so that counselors and clients can be fully engaged through their faith.

"The state licensed professional counselor in certain states is forbidden to pray, read or refer to the Holy Scriptures, counsel against things such as homosexuality, abortion, etc," a catalog of the organization's offerings states. "Initiating such counsel could be considered unethical by the state."

The temperament-based approach breaks people down into five types: Melancholy, Choleric, Sanguine, Supine, and Phlegmatic. Richard and Phyllis Arno, who established a test to identify people's temperament, founded the National Christian Counselors Association in the early 1980s. They and their advocates prefer the term temperament over personalities as the term personality is characterized as a "mask" while temperaments are "inborn" and thus inherent to each individual regardless of outside influences such as parenting. Their work is largely based on Hippocrates' view that there were four temperaments."

A Daily Kos writer remarks, "To see this person using what some Ancient Greek came up with and applying it in modern times is just another red flag that Republicans are anti-science."

I agree. Evangelical fundamentalism, asserting that the bible is all one needs is bad enough. But the temperaments is a step beyond even that.
