Really hoping Speaker Johnson continues to get the MSNBC harsh spotlight on all of his depravity and stupidity.
I was surprised to hear Ari say that he'd already been on his show in the past. Johnson doesn't seem the type to allow that kind of vulnerability. I wonder what brought him on?

Then you missed Joe, Donnie and Adam Kinzinger resetting the argument and perspective for Israel’s right to defend itself. Joe’s still trying to make the tagline happen: “When an anew dies, it’s a win for Hamas. When a Palestinian dies, it’s a win for Hamas”.
Adam is looking a bit puffy these days. He must miss the Capitol gym. All the bukkake he took there really tightened up his face.

I think it was originally Joe, with Willie as sort of a sidekick (Robin?) and Mika as a news reader. Mika made a huge stink when she somehow found out Willie was being paid more than her. In those days, Mika was more of a contrarian to Joe, and Willie just seemed to go with the flow. So America fell in love(!) with Joe and Mika's Sam and Diane from Cheers vibe, and Mika was sitting next to him.

Not entirely true, he was capable of good follow-up, and called out obvious falsehoods - "alternate facts". And on occasion, he could go after hypocrites hard, like the scorchings he served idiot Ron Johnson. Still, the pressure to appear even-handed did muffle a lot of opportunities to expose lies.

I'm not sure how, but Grammarly inserted itself into my DL text entry. Frequently a little annoying, but also picks up on stuff like this.

I think Rachel got Chris the gig at MSNBC, right? Chris pulls no punches, and he's excitable. Over Thanksgiving I saw a friend who is media savvy saying after Jan 1, Biden is going to get negative media coverage that will gradually cause him to drop out of the race and Newsom become the obvious heir apparent. Whether Harris can stay on the ticket - 2 California liberal dems - is a legal issue(?) he claims could stick us with Stacy Abrams, and sorry she's damaged goods I just can't see that. My friend has worked for a former Ohio governor (Dem) and he would personally love to see Hillary(!) back in the discussion, but knows that would be posion.

She's a lovely young woman and we generally like her POV, but she's as interesting to watch as old pre-reno drywall. And we're not even the types who watch news/analysis/commentary for its entertainment value. Her jokes are corny, and there's nothing particularly incisive about her takes.
Aside from her large number of well-placed contacts, what exactly is so fresh about her?

I'm happy we're getting more of hot daddy Michael Steele. I wish he had a weekday (or nightly) show.

Yasmin deserves better, give her one of Chris Jansing’s hours.

Rachel knows her audience is mostly older people who have either forgotten historical events or are from some ignorant flyover state where they were never taught those events in school. These people were taught: go to school, get out of school, get a job, work till you die to earn your keep. What's going on in the rest of the world has nothing to do with you.
So when Rachel starts talking about past events, she is either reminding these people or teaching them something they never knew in the first place. "This thing happened a long time ago and we have this thing happening now. They're the same. This isn't new. It's happened before." She knows how to break it down in simple terms and make it interesting so her audience can understand and know. (So does Kornacki for that matter, though he sometimes muddles it with unconnected facts.) That's why Rachel has such a huge following. Remember the old lady who lost her shit when Rachel wasn't on?

by Anonymous | reply 455 | November 30, 2023 9:59 PM |
Joy has a gay daughter and consistently has LGBTQ people on her show, championing the cause and speaking up for the rights of the community. Nevermind the fact that she is highly intelligent and keeps it 100 on all things Trump and MAGA without the tongue-biting that plagues some of her colleagues. Anyone who wants to see her go based off of some decade-old rumor about something she "supposedly" said against the gays is just a racist in sheep's clothing.

A day ago, I watched CNN’s Jake Tapper diss MSNBC in a discussion about Trump, if he is elected in ‘24, he’ll take revenge on certain media. Tapper stated he didn’t like MSNBC, indicating their reporting is biased.
Tapper the yapper is opinionated as any broadcaster. He may be a Republican. He talks like it.
by Anonymous | reply 457 | November 30, 2023 10:45 PM |
I think Tapper IS a ReTHUGlican. It just took Chris Licht to bring it to the forefront.

R459 Agree.
by Anonymous | reply 461 | December 1, 2023 12:53 AM |
Intelligent? Perhaps, R456, but to declare Joy Ann Reid "highly" intelligent stretches credulity. A ridiculous caricature whose very appearance is offensive to Black women's dignity, she is little more than a charlatan.
Iimmigrant Blacks such as Joy Ann consider U.S. Blacks inferior due to our ancestors' enslavement. Colonization doesn't register with these first and second generation hypocrites, and she is their media darling. How will they vote in 2024?

R456 Joy may have evolved but she was rightly and truly a troglodyte troller of all things gay. And she went to Harvard so what's her fucking excuse. SHE DIDN'T HAVE AN EXCUSE. It was her true, ugly, pre-evolved mindset. Joy isn't that smart. Her cockamamie lies and evasions were laughable and pathetic. AND SPINELESS.

We all know why Joy Reid is still employed at MSNBC.
by Anonymous | reply 466 | December 1, 2023 1:10 AM |
Joy Reid is HIGHLY intelligent, and much to R466’s (and others’) chagrin, she will continue to be employed by MSNBC because of it. Bitterly holding on to things she allegedly said eons ago, when she clearly does not hold those views, says more about many of you than it does about her. And she’s a much more interesting watch than Nicolle, Ari and Rachel, that’s for damn sure.

Peter Baker and his wife Susan Glasser were both on The 11th hour with Stephanie Ruhle last night at 11PM, it was kind of cute, Susan would say something about I agree with the person upstairs and Peter would say something about the his wife down in the living room. I wonder if they have two internet service providers to be able stream two videos out without problems when people often can't stream just one video out of their homes without problems.
Then Peter Baker shows up on Morning Joe at 7AM guessing he doesn't get a good 8 hours of sleep.

I was not really very knowledgeable of her before Jan. 6, but I do greatly admire her for taking a brave stand against Trump and speaking out.
But after watching her in Rachel's and Nicolle's interviews and hearing how intelligent and clear-sighted she apparently is, I just can't imagine how she got through those trials working so closely with Dem colleagues she says she respects and admires, like Jamie Raskin, Zoe Lofgren and Nancy Pelosi, and STILL remain a Republican. How at least some of their liberal views could have not rubbed off on her. I know....I'm naive.

You are. She said here that she supported most of Trump's issues/causes. If Trump disappears, she'll go on opposing gun control, abortion rights, lower taxes, etc. Not sure how she is on LGBTQ rights, given her sister.

[quote] So, will Rachel spend 45 minutes introducing Liz tonight and then ask her if she got everything right in the remaining 15 minutes?
Essentially, that is what happened.
It needed to have been 3 minute's to introduce Liz; 45+ minutes conducting the interview. Who cares when Liz spoke in passing to Rachael at a social gathering many years back.

Nicolle's interview today was much better than Rachel's.
And on a side note: have we determined whether Nicolle used a surrogate or not? Anybody know?

She was NOT pregnant.

The question is did she use a harvested egg.

No one has posted part 52 yet? Hmmm, seems DL is slacking...

Get right on it. Thank you for the alert

I forgot that Nicolle was guesting on her own show today and picked up the last 15 before Ari.
This is the reason, besides the Morning Joe Channel, that Peacock is a bargain at $5 a month.
I will watch Nic tomorrow in her entirety with Liz.

Wait, when was Nicolle on jury duty? I thought she’s been out because of the new baby.

Did Mike “watch” Izzy while Nicolle was at work today?

[quote] Wait, when was Nicolle on jury duty? I thought she’s been out because of the new baby.
They were talking about jury duty today on DeadLine White House because apparently the jury questionnaires were received today by some DC residents for what they believe is the Trump trial because the dates matched up and the questionnaires asked that you be available for 3 months. Nicolle said something about she got called for jury duty and didn't get out of it. John Heilemann told that all you have to do is say you are a journalist and they will dismiss you. Nicolle said she did and then said someone else got called at the same time and they went together but I didn't catch the name, closed captioning didn't either. I listened to it again and I think she said Phil Griffin Former president of MSNBC, but Heilemann and Claire were both talking at the same time as Nicolle and it was really hard to hear.
Yes Nicolle is out now because of the baby, this happened a long time ago before Rashida Jones became MSNBC President.

Her son Liam is ten years old, about time he started contributing, he can baby sit.

She probably got into the MSNBC car with her nanny, and the nanny watched Izzy in Nic's office for the two hours.
It's not like Nic was wearing a breast pump.

Liz Cheney was on Morning Joe this morning, but I didn't hear a single other host inform their viewers that Liz was going to be on Morning Joe like I did with her being on Rachel and Nicolle. Wonder why.

Joe announced it at the end of his Monday show.

Any word on whether Cheney is making the rounds on right-wing outlets? Is she still welcome on Fox News?
That's the audience that really needs to hear what she has to say.

I'm sure the right-wing outlets have no interest in giving her airtime or promoting her book. Their viewers wouldn't even give her a chance if she did appear. And I'll bet all the people buying her book are Democrats and never-Trumper Republicans who already know that Trump is a danger to democracy. Cheney is preaching to the choir. I don't know if there's any way to change the minds of the MAGA crowd. Maybe, though, her book can help fire up Democrats and never-Trumpers so they turn out to vote instead of staying home.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
