Why isn't anyone reporting that there has been a motion to televise the Trump 1/6 trial in DC.

Decision by November 10th.

by Anonymousreply 2October 27, 2023 11:38 PM

I heard it reported.

by Anonymousreply 3October 28, 2023 12:14 AM

Please, god!

The signer for the Lewiston press conference needs a show of her own.

by Anonymousreply 5October 28, 2023 12:19 AM

So much awful news these days. One horrible thing after another.

by Anonymousreply 6October 28, 2023 1:16 AM

Really hoping Speaker Johnson continues to get the MSNBC harsh spotlight on all of his depravity and stupidity.

I was surprised to hear Ari say that he'd already been on his show in the past. Johnson doesn't seem the type to allow that kind of vulnerability. I wonder what brought him on?

by Anonymousreply 7October 28, 2023 1:19 AM

[quote]I wonder what brought him on?

It gave him a chance to yell at Ari for killing Jesus.

by Anonymousreply 8October 28, 2023 1:24 AM

Did Ari spring any rap quotes on Johnson?

by Anonymousreply 9October 28, 2023 1:28 AM

Did he quote Kathy Griffin accepting her Emmy?

by Anonymousreply 10October 28, 2023 1:41 AM

No Mehdi, interesting….

by Anonymousreply 11October 30, 2023 12:03 AM

The coverage of the massacre in Maine is a reminder of just how many seem to think it's actually called a "candlelight visual".

I know, hardly the takeaway from such a horrific event, but finding a bit of humor where possible.

by Anonymousreply 12October 30, 2023 6:46 AM

Where is Joseph today?

by Anonymousreply 13October 30, 2023 1:08 PM

Flossing the cat. As they say.

I had to take a break from MSNBC for the first time since its debut. The hurricane of Hamas disinformation was too much. I switched to CNN whenever Gaza comes up. At least there’s some semblance of balance.

by Anonymousreply 37November 2, 2023 6:51 AM

[quote] I switched to CNN whenever Gaza comes up. At least there’s some semblance of balance.

If you've watched MSNBC from its debut you should have known they have never offered balanced coverage on anything.

by Anonymousreply 38November 2, 2023 7:34 AM

^Not my experience at all, but thanks so much for your “opinion.”

by Anonymousreply 39November 2, 2023 8:07 AM

by Anonymousreply 40November 2, 2023 9:13 AM

Don't if they're still seeing each other but last year Lawrence was dating WEEDS actress Mary-Louise Parker. Love them both. but an odd couple if ever there was one.

by Anonymousreply 41November 2, 2023 2:07 PM

[quote] I had to take a break from MSNBC for the first time since its debut. The hurricane of Hamas disinformation was too much

Then you missed Joe, Donnie and Adam Kinzinger resetting the argument and perspective for Israel’s right to defend itself. Joe’s still trying to make the tagline happen: “When an anew dies, it’s a win for Hamas. When a Palestinian dies, it’s a win for Hamas”.

Adam is looking a bit puffy these days. He must miss the Capitol gym. All the bukkake he took there really tightened up his face.

by Anonymousreply 42November 2, 2023 9:19 PM

[quote] they have never offered balanced coverage on anything.

Right, they're routinely biased towards the truth.

by Anonymousreply 43November 3, 2023 4:50 AM

Does anyone follow Kornacki's non-political work for NBC? Apparently, he travels around covering horse races and dog shows.

by Anonymousreply 44November 3, 2023 5:29 AM

Chris Hayes is not a likeable person.

by Anonymousreply 45November 3, 2023 7:05 AM

Andrew Weissmann looks great in a tux! I wonder where he was going or where he came from.

by Anonymousreply 46November 3, 2023 11:31 AM

by Anonymousreply 47November 3, 2023 2:09 PM

Jonathan Capehart is really bad at being an anchor.

by Anonymousreply 65November 5, 2023 1:33 PM

I got rid of cable. MSNBC lost me in the last year. The scope of news is minuscule, the shows repeat each other with the same experts.

I got the Max/HBO app for $10/month and it has a CNN live stream beta. I can check MSNBC audio on TuneIn.

by Anonymousreply 66November 5, 2023 1:52 PM

Nearly all MSNBC daily programming is available largely ad-free as audio showcasts - along with a number of additional podcast productions - including the excellent Prosecuting Trump with Andrew and Mary.

by Anonymousreply 67November 5, 2023 9:19 PM

Mehdi is downgrading Biden for his support of Israel.

Fuck him.

I saw Velshi weaseling the former Prime minister of Israel over the Israeli position on GAZA CHILDREN.

Ali, he doesn't care about a million people when every Jewish life in Israel is at stake.

by Anonymousreply 68November 6, 2023 12:11 AM

Medhi is a fucking moron, why do you think Rashida buries his show on Sundays.

No one is watching him, but he should just join the squad instead of being an “ anchor.”

by Anonymousreply 69November 6, 2023 7:12 AM

The Palestinian guest who was just on said exactly what I’ve been saying. All the newly minted anti Israel westerners are playing into Hamas’ plan. Hamas orchestrated this all, embedded with civilians, to make Israel look wrong.

As he said, Hamas won’t stop with Israelis. They hate us too.

These young keyboard warriors didn’t live through 9/11 and various other terrorist acts by extremists.

by Anonymousreply 70November 6, 2023 12:55 PM

I confess I don't follow her closely, but is AOC really a twat? Whenever I've seen her in Congressional committee, she always seems to have her shit together, incredibly prepared to the degree that she puts others to shame. Usually in a very succinct manner.

It was mentioned this morning on Morning Joe that The Circus won't be returning for another season. When asked why John Heilemann said that there have been changes at Paramount. Ok MSNBC, time to offer John a show.

by Anonymousreply 92November 8, 2023 1:58 PM

THE CIRCUS 🎪 is the best show!

John lost his show, podcast??

by Anonymousreply 93November 8, 2023 3:47 PM

by Anonymousreply 97November 8, 2023 7:56 PM

by Anonymousreply 98November 8, 2023 8:05 PM

by Anonymousreply 99November 8, 2023 8:12 PM

Not to mention Parks & Rec.

by Anonymousreply 100November 8, 2023 8:18 PM

What has Claire McKaskill done to her face? And specifically her lips?? And that new shade of blonde is just too brassy.

by Anonymousreply 101November 8, 2023 8:27 PM

Claire McCaskill only botoxed half of her face.

by Anonymousreply 102November 8, 2023 8:27 PM

by Anonymousreply 110November 9, 2023 12:08 AM

Chris Hayes just did a puff piece story for Rashida.

There is a reason why she did Chris and not Jake Tapper.

by Anonymousreply 111November 9, 2023 1:01 AM

Andrew Weiselmann (sp) was a guest on The Circus recently, talking mob convictions with John H. I love the trendy NYC restarurants they go to. The food always looks so good....

by Anonymousreply 112November 9, 2023 1:34 AM

Chris Hayes excitability is annoying as fuck!

by Anonymousreply 113November 9, 2023 3:10 AM

I am way over Chris Hayes. He brays to the progressives, is always trying to show he is equal to Nicolle, Ari, and Rachel and jumps around like a child. Rasida won't tell him to settle down since he kisses the progressive's asses.

by Anonymousreply 114November 9, 2023 3:40 AM

Dems need to expel Hamas loving Rashida.

Ari, Alex

Nicolle

Joy, Steph

by Anonymousreply 116November 9, 2023 4:50 AM

I like (not) how some of you try to dismiss Joy by either leaving her out of the conversation altogether or by denigrating her. She is an intelligent woman who is very good at what she does and who is more interesting to watch than Sir Rachel, she of the single black outfit, poker face Ari Mix-A-Lot and monotone Nicolle.

by Anonymousreply 117November 9, 2023 5:41 AM

I agree that Joy is intelligent, and a valuable voice on the network. I see no reason to disparage her. Similarly Nicolle is probably the most effective host on MSNBC, but I wouldn't describe her as brilliant. She makes up for that by being exceptionally well-informed and genial.

by Anonymousreply 118November 9, 2023 8:25 AM

I'm a Joy fan too, R118. I liked her (and Rachel's) cameo in Red, White, and Royal Blue.

by Anonymousreply 119November 9, 2023 10:17 AM

Joe Scarborough is also on the 4 day work week!

by Anonymousreply 120November 9, 2023 12:24 PM

I have no problem with that because the Mighty Mika held her own today with the NJ Fat Bastard.

Epic.

by Anonymousreply 121November 9, 2023 12:45 PM

Katy Tur has become a major disappointment. She is positively giddy today with Joe Manchin's announcement. She keeps repeating "a possible spoiler for Joe Biden in 2024," and smiling broadly. I bet her thong is wet. Fuck off, cunt.

by Anonymousreply 132November 10, 2023 1:12 AM

Mika & Willie on that 4 day work week too!

Daddy Joe Scarborough is at the desk!!!

by Anonymousreply 137November 10, 2023 10:03 AM

Willie has always had Mondays off because of Sunday Today. I wonder what he must think of being stuck as 3rd bananna at MJ. Mika is sleeping with the boss and gets to sit next to Joe, while Willie is like the stepson everyone likes, but he knows he's not family.

by Anonymousreply 138November 10, 2023 10:12 AM

Wille did not go to Mika & Joe’s wedding….

by Anonymousreply 139November 10, 2023 10:31 AM

Did Willie's wedding invitation get lost in the mail?

by Anonymousreply 140November 10, 2023 10:38 AM

Was MJ conceived with Willie in mind as a third host, or was he added later, and if so, for what reason?

by Anonymousreply 141November 10, 2023 12:11 PM

Joe in DC today.

by Anonymousreply 142November 10, 2023 12:47 PM

I think it was originally Joe, with Willie as sort of a sidekick (Robin?) and Mika as a news reader. Mika made a huge stink when she somehow found out Willie was being paid more than her. In those days, Mika was more of a contrarian to Joe, and Willie just seemed to go with the flow. So America fell in love(!) with Joe and Mika's Sam and Diane from Cheers vibe, and Mika was sitting next to him.

KNOW YOUR VALUE!!

by Anonymousreply 143November 10, 2023 1:25 PM

Joe was poking holes in blowhard Leibovich having to lengthy preface every fucking statement. So funny. When it comes to thumbs, I prefer John Heilemann.

by Anonymousreply 144November 10, 2023 3:13 PM

R134, Smirky Lemire isn't a fag, though.

Matt Damon

by Anonymousreply 145November 10, 2023 3:18 PM

With the Circus ending, I hope MSNBC finds something for Heileman and crew. It can be once a week, end of the week whatever. Seeing people relax and eating in ritzy settings is a good change from the strum and drang of all the MSNBC hosted hour long shows.

by Anonymousreply 146November 10, 2023 3:19 PM

R145, Lemire breaks my gaydar on a daily basis.

by Anonymousreply 147November 10, 2023 3:24 PM

Is Leibovich the hot daddy Mr. Clean guy?

by Anonymousreply 148November 10, 2023 6:37 PM

Leibovich is somehow very sexy to me, even when he's not looking so good.

Maybe it's his voice.

by Anonymousreply 149November 10, 2023 6:52 PM

But I still prefer Heilemann in the thumb/Mr Clean category.

by Anonymousreply 153November 10, 2023 7:54 PM

Maybe The Circus can become a weekly MSNBC show.

by Anonymousreply 154November 10, 2023 8:01 PM

They could put it on Saturday or Sunday night.

by Anonymousreply 155November 10, 2023 8:42 PM

I guess even a mercurial beauty gets to be upbeat some of the time.

by Anonymousreply 166November 11, 2023 9:02 AM

A penis does not need to enter a vagina to spawn children. A turkey baster will do the trick!

by Anonymousreply 167November 11, 2023 12:53 PM

Viable jizz still needs to cum from a penis somewhere.

by Anonymousreply 169November 11, 2023 8:41 PM

So sick and tired of Muslim hosts pushing foreign policy over Palestinian children. Putin stole thousands of Ukrainian children and put them into brainwashing camos. Crickets.

Sweet Jesus, now Bedouins?

The enemy is Hamas.

by Anonymousreply 170November 12, 2023 1:57 AM

There are no 2 sides, Mehdi is a glorified antisemite.

He hates jews and israel, he must resign from that buried sunday night show.

by Anonymousreply 171November 12, 2023 8:46 AM

MSNBC Rashida did not bury Ayman & Mehdi’s shows on Sunday nights because they are good.

Ayman deserves to be back in the weekly line-up.

Mehdi needs to stay on Peacock & never show up in primetime.

by Anonymousreply 175November 12, 2023 1:23 PM

Mental Midget Kristen Welker - made to look a fool by Radaswamy during the Republican debate the other night - completely blew her interview with Ronna McDaniel. Soft pedal doesn't even begin to describe it.

by Anonymousreply 176November 12, 2023 2:44 PM

Welker knows that her Republican interviewees are there voluntarily.

If she pushed them to be truthful, she would eventually only have Democrats to interview.

And if you are adhering to a fake "balanced" reporting, the more powerful the person, the more softball the interview,

Chuck Turd only got aggressive with his Republican stooges when he knew he was out the door.

Tough call.

🔥Senator Chris Murphy 🔥

Too bad he married a political spouse he doesn’t love, but is stuck with her since he wants to be president.

[quote] Chuck Turd only got aggressive with his Republican stooges when he knew he was out the door.

Not entirely true, he was capable of good follow-up, and called out obvious falsehoods - "alternate facts". And on occasion, he could go after hypocrites hard, like the scorchings he served idiot Ron Johnson. Still, the pressure to appear even-handed did muffle a lot of opportunities to expose lies.

by Anonymousreply 179November 13, 2023 12:14 AM

I enjoy the special panels they have at night when there's big political news. I hope they do them every evening during Trump's federal trial in March.

by Anonymousreply 180November 13, 2023 12:42 AM

Mehdi had the crazy dude from Justice Democrats on his show. They are both anti-Biden now due to the Middle-East war supporting Israel.

What fucking antisemitic assholes. The alternative is Dump so good luck with that rhetoric.

by Anonymousreply 181November 13, 2023 3:56 AM

Mehdi is anti-Biden? What's he going to do? Vote for Trump? Not vote but trash talk Biden so that others are persuaded not to vote for Biden, either?

Talk about 'Can't See the Forest for the Trees.'

He's too smart to be called stupid, but he needs to parse out what he's thinking and and saying and be clear that. it's about policy differences.

by Anonymousreply 224November 17, 2023 5:01 AM

Alex Wagner is a shill for Hamas. I can no longer bear to watch her disinformation. Raf Sanchez is no longer a reporter, inserting his pro-Hamas opinions into every news piece he does now. There are very few programs left on MSNBC I can tolerate due to this overt and widespread bias.

by Anonymousreply 225November 17, 2023 5:02 AM

I agree R225. I am over the bullshit progressive attitude of many on MSNBC. I only watch MJ and Nicolle Wallace (though I get tired of her obsession with Trump. Raf Sanchez shoots his mouth off, and the pearls just fall out of it.

by Anonymousreply 226November 17, 2023 5:14 AM

R225, I have been watching MSNBC for years, I know the blocks. If Palestinians are in the A block I know it will last until after the commercials. I flip to Antiques Roadshow UK until 20 after. Then I go back to MSNBC to check out the shorter B block. There are decades of Roadshow, so it rarely repeats. I only watch what I want to watch.

Watching the Rachel Maddow/Chris Hayes special as I type. Chris is looking nice and thicc walking around onstage with his smart phone jammed into his front pocket.

by Anonymousreply 320November 24, 2023 11:10 PM

I thought I heard that Chris was something like 6'5" but when Rachel was standing next to him, she was only a few inches shorter. Is she very tall? She is wearing some thick heels on her boots.

by Anonymousreply 321November 24, 2023 11:33 PM

R321 Rachel is 5'11 or 6'0

by Anonymousreply 322November 24, 2023 11:35 PM

Chris Hayes always has bloat face.

by Anonymousreply 323November 24, 2023 11:48 PM

So this is basically just Rachel reading us a book? Pass.

by Anonymousreply 324November 24, 2023 11:48 PM

Chris’s crotch/bulge is looking nice.

by Anonymousreply 325November 25, 2023 12:42 AM

R321 Chris Hayes is 6'0 even.

by Anonymousreply 326November 25, 2023 12:59 AM

Good discussion.

by Anonymousreply 327November 25, 2023 1:00 AM

R320 Belies the troll(s) here who always attempt to stir up some bad-blood feud between the two.

by Anonymousreply 328November 25, 2023 1:44 AM

Say what, r328? Chris totally has a crush on Rachel.

by Anonymousreply 329November 25, 2023 1:55 AM

[quote] Chris’s crotch/bulge is looking nice.

It appears to be obscured in part by his gut.

Not fat shaming. I enjoy suckling in the shade of a hairy paunch.

by Anonymousreply 330November 25, 2023 2:09 AM

Yeah, Chris must keep his suit coat buttoned when he's normally at his desk because the unopened jacket tonight really revealed a seriously big gut. Which I doubt is hairy at all. Just a guess, but I don't think he has much body hair.

by Anonymousreply 331November 25, 2023 2:12 AM

Judging by his crotch, it looks like he has huge balls.

by Anonymousreply 332November 25, 2023 5:09 AM

Katie Phang is the queen of "I appreciate you." Ugh.

by Anonymousreply 333November 25, 2023 1:13 PM

Chris Hayes is a Chunky Boy.

by Anonymousreply 334November 25, 2023 3:07 PM

R334, He’s also extremely fugly.

by Anonymousreply 335November 25, 2023 3:14 PM

David Noriega is 🔥

by Anonymousreply 336November 25, 2023 3:21 PM

I like Chris’s big blue owl eyes.

by Anonymousreply 337November 25, 2023 3:40 PM

Chris Hayes seems to work out a lot, so he must eat a ton of carbs and booze and junk food to maintain that gut and bloated appearance.

by Anonymousreply 338November 25, 2023 3:54 PM

Ali Velshi is married to a Jewish lady, but is Anti-Israel.

by Anonymousreply 339November 25, 2023 7:13 PM

April Ryan citing polls, like all the clickbait journalists.

by Anonymousreply 340November 25, 2023 9:23 PM

Chris’s tummy is pleasantly hairy.

That pic was from a few years back. He’s the rare type who was in better shape during the pandemic.

OOOOOH, I am very pleasantly corrected! Thank you, r341.

by Anonymousreply 342November 25, 2023 11:08 PM

Yes, thank you. I could definitely work with that.

by Anonymousreply 343November 25, 2023 11:52 PM

I think Rachel got Chris the gig at MSNBC, right? Chris pulls no punches, and he's excitable. Over Thanksgiving I saw a friend who is media savvy saying after Jan 1, Biden is going to get negative media coverage that will gradually cause him to drop out of the race and Newsom become the obvious heir apparent. Whether Harris can stay on the ticket - 2 California liberal dems - is a legal issue(?) he claims could stick us with Stacy Abrams, and sorry she's damaged goods I just can't see that. My friend has worked for a former Ohio governor (Dem) and he would personally love to see Hillary(!) back in the discussion, but knows that would be posion.

by Anonymousreply 344November 26, 2023 9:26 AM

[quote]Biden is going to get negative media coverage that will gradually cause him to drop out of the race

Naaawww. Biden is going to wait till the campaigns are active after both conventions. THEN Dark Brandon id going to campaign against the rapist.

by Anonymousreply 345November 26, 2023 9:35 AM

Brandon who??

by Anonymousreply 346November 26, 2023 9:47 AM

Are you headless? Dark Brandon.

by Anonymousreply 347November 26, 2023 9:50 AM

R341, Dreadfully unattractive, seriously.

by Anonymousreply 348November 26, 2023 10:36 AM

Newsom is never going to be the nominee. Whitmer, Bashear, or Shapiro have far better chances of winning.

by Anonymousreply 349November 26, 2023 3:12 PM

Mehdi Hasan is a Justice Democrat.

He should just run the campaigns for the Lame Fraud Squad.

by Anonymousreply 350November 26, 2023 7:20 PM

Time for Rashida to cut Mehdi loose.

He is a liability to MSNBC.

by Anonymousreply 351November 26, 2023 8:04 PM

R349 or Wes Moore. As with Obama, the naysayers will be, "It's too early". I'm not a Newsom hater, just don't see him getting the independent and POC votes.

by Anonymousreply 352November 26, 2023 11:03 PM

Interesting Mehdi is not on tonight.

Interesting Ayman is on all the shows talking about the Middle East, not Hasan.

by Anonymousreply 353November 26, 2023 11:45 PM

2028 Harris/Buttigieg

2032 Harris/Buttigieg

by Anonymousreply 354November 26, 2023 11:57 PM

R339, Beshear should run in 2028. He was just re-elected.

by Anonymousreply 355November 27, 2023 12:01 AM

LOL Harris as lead on the ticket will NEVER happen. Her negatives are worse than Biden's. It will be Newsom. WHY do you think HE's debating DeSantis? You loons don't see how this is to play out.

Nicolle, get him some collar stays for those curled collar points. Nice knot, though.

by Anonymousreply 360November 27, 2023 1:47 PM

Mike broke Paternity Leave already!

by Anonymousreply 361November 27, 2023 2:23 PM

He doesn’t have any other kids, probably had no idea what a screaming baby is like.

by Anonymousreply 362November 27, 2023 3:36 PM

Ali Velshi is filling in for Nicolle Mondays & Tuesdays.

by Anonymousreply 363November 27, 2023 5:16 PM

I loved that Lemire made a hurried reference to the baby, but basically congratulated Nicolle. Mika chimed in with Aww, Isabella! But Mike didn't seem to acknowledged it. Glad no one asked him if he was sleeping well these days.

by Anonymousreply 364November 27, 2023 5:52 PM

Aren't Mike and Nicolle still keeping both of their original residences? Mike continued to appear remotely from his attic room with all the bare shelves behind him long after the marriage. Maybe that will change now that there is a baby but maybe not if he needs a sanctuary to get away, I doubt he wants to do remotes with a screaming baby in the background.

by Anonymousreply 365November 27, 2023 8:09 PM

Think Nicolle said they are staying at the NYC apartment now since her apartment was on the Thanksgiving Parade route. Also has a Connecticut house she used to share w/ the ex-husband.

by Anonymousreply 366November 27, 2023 8:21 PM

R354 I'm all for that. If they won, it would be fun to see the GOP's heads explode.

by Anonymousreply 367November 27, 2023 8:29 PM

Mike Schmidt was the proud, beaming, personable papa telling Ali about Baby Izzy this afternoon. awwwww🥰

by Anonymousreply 368November 27, 2023 9:38 PM

by Anonymousreply 382November 28, 2023 12:26 AM

Yes he was all over the airwaves today, R382, and with good cause.

Mike Schmidt and his NYT colleagues published a major investigative article this weekend exposing donald's flagrant misuse of the presidential pardon power.

by Anonymousreply 383November 28, 2023 12:47 AM

Mike Schmidt now has another mouth to feed, plus a nanny to pay for in the future, private school and college, he needs all the work he can get, plus I am sure he is already tired of a crying baby.

Mara Gay is so pretty! She finally seems to be over her long bout with Covid.

by Anonymousreply 406November 29, 2023 8:03 PM

It appears that Alicia is subbing for Nicolle for the duration of her maternity leave, but Rashida couldn't run her ragged seven days a week with American Voices on Saturday and Sunday. So for the duration, we have Velshi on Monday and Tuesday on Deadline White House. Pity Katie Fang is not an option. Plus, with all the Holiday vacations coming up, get used to seeing SYMONE!

MSNBC is going to be a shitshow until after Kwanzaa.

by Anonymousreply 407November 29, 2023 8:15 PM

by Anonymousreply 410November 29, 2023 8:48 PM

by Anonymousreply 411November 29, 2023 8:52 PM

I would love to see Mike Schmidt sub for Nicolle even if just for one day.

by Anonymousreply 412November 29, 2023 9:00 PM

The other day my sister and I were discussing Jen Psaki's show, and we're both mystified by all the "Oh, she's so great; she'll be the new Rachel!" drumbeat.

She's a lovely young woman and we generally like her POV, but she's as interesting to watch as old pre-reno drywall. And we're not even the types who watch news/analysis/commentary for its entertainment value. Her jokes are corny, and there's nothing particularly incisive about her takes.

Aside from her large number of well-placed contacts, what exactly is so fresh about her?

by Anonymousreply 413November 29, 2023 9:13 PM

r413 = Dee Dee Myers

by Anonymousreply 414November 29, 2023 9:21 PM

What's Clinton's former PS to do with Jen Psaki? Haven't even heard her name in 20 years.

by Anonymousreply 415November 29, 2023 9:27 PM

An accurate comparison to Jen Psaki and what makes Jen superior?

Experience?

Are you a critical thinker, r413?

.

r414

Huh?

by Anonymousreply 416November 29, 2023 9:34 PM

I think the execs are trying to find a viable replacement for Rachel. Which is impossible. No one can replace Rachel

They’ll need to find a brilliant newcomer that shines from a fresh perspective

by Anonymousreply 417November 29, 2023 9:38 PM

Rachel needs to be moved to Two Hours on Sunday night opposite 60 Minutes.

by Anonymousreply 418November 29, 2023 9:40 PM

[quote] Rachel needs to be moved to Two Hours on Sunday night opposite 60 Minutes.

Rachel could do two hours on Monday since Chris Hayes now has Mondays off, she could go from 8-10 PM

by Anonymousreply 419November 29, 2023 10:38 PM

I am warming to Alex Wagner. She is well informed and shows up. Rachel's meandering Mondays lose me within 5 minutes of watching her. Get to the fucking point! I guess next year she'll be back in a big way for the primaries, conventions, etc.

by Anonymousreply 420November 29, 2023 10:53 PM

[quote]Rachel's meandering Mondays lose me within 5 minutes of watching her. Get to the fucking point!

She doesn't meander, r420. She makes things extra-clear for those who may not be as up on things as you are. Those are the people she needs to reach.

by Anonymousreply 421November 29, 2023 11:03 PM

Alex and Ari are having a tad too much fun this evening. The MSNBC holiday party could be verrry interesting.

by Anonymousreply 422November 29, 2023 11:05 PM

Nicolle has obviously had enough of being home with a baby. A 51 year old woman is too old to be dealing with a newborn 24/7. Menopause happens for a reason.

by Anonymousreply 423November 29, 2023 11:20 PM

Swallwell was looking tasty on Joy. His hands looked massive next to hers, too.

I love how Ayman wears a tie on other people’s shows but never on his own. He’s the sexiest Muslim at MSNBC.

by Anonymousreply 426November 30, 2023 12:01 AM

Ayman is a sexy gentleman and scholar; the guest who always brings his best.

by Anonymousreply 427November 30, 2023 12:45 AM

Ayman hit me in the head with a fondue pot.

by Anonymousreply 428November 30, 2023 12:49 AM

R420 And Trump's trials. As I've said before, I like the evening panels which she leads.

by Anonymousreply 429November 30, 2023 12:57 AM

R423 Caring for a baby is a full time job in itself and she's not a young woman who can run around all day and not get exhausted. I don't know what she was thinking.

by Anonymousreply 430November 30, 2023 1:14 AM

Nicole probably has a day and night nanny. Maybe two for each shift.

Plus housekeeping/mgmt, food prep/shopping done, and a nanny dedicated specifically for her older kid

She ain’t doing any of the heavy lifting

by Anonymousreply 431November 30, 2023 1:18 AM

When Nicolle's kid is 16, she'll be 67. I can see it now - she goes to a school function and the other mothers ask her Are you the grandmother?

by Anonymousreply 434November 30, 2023 1:27 AM

The Hand-off from Chris tonight occured after Chris had a contentious interview from an IDF spokes woman. Was Chris sent screaming from the studio?

Alex was a trooper as the michegas went down off screen and ended with a sweet side eye. On the replay, they cut to the side eye.

by Anonymousreply 435November 30, 2023 8:05 AM

Chris Hayes is a horrible interviewer and can’t ask the hard questions.

by Anonymousreply 436November 30, 2023 9:06 AM

[quote] She doesn't meander

My only issue with Rachel's style and delivery, is this thing she always does mid-sentence, - "eh eh" - as if struggling for the right way to express something. Frustrated with her own ability to phrase it best. When it's obvious she knows exactly what she's saying, and where she's going.

Totally performative. Not convincing and just unnecessary.

by Anonymousreply 437November 30, 2023 9:08 AM

Alex Wagner self sabotages with her Asian-American Ivy League Lockjaw vocal fry. Hate it.

by Anonymousreply 438November 30, 2023 9:35 AM

Chris Hayes’ narcissism will not allow him to let others speak. He thinks he’s always the smartest one in the room (unless it’s Rachel). It was good to see someone else (especially a woman) take him on. The blind loyalty to Hamas is breathtaking, even @ MSNBC.

by Anonymousreply 439November 30, 2023 9:38 AM

Rachel spends a lot of time “explaining” things to the audience that are already widely known and mostly common sense. She uses a lot of words and speaks performatively, but basically says nothing new.

by Anonymousreply 440November 30, 2023 10:59 AM

Rachel is a comparative historian.

by Anonymousreply 441November 30, 2023 12:08 PM

Chris Hayes is a Bernie Bro therefore he loves the Pro-Hamas Fraud Squad.

He landed an interview with that slob Rashida Tlaib & didn’t even push back on her BONKERS answers.

by Anonymousreply 442November 30, 2023 12:54 PM

I always love how Rachel will spend a half hour introducing a guest (with lots of her own opinions) and then ask the guest if she got everything right. The guest ALWAYS agrees. It would be fun if just once the guest demurred.

Rachel knows her audience is mostly older people who have either forgotten historical events or are from some ignorant flyover state where they were never taught those events in school. These people were taught: go to school, get out of school, get a job, work till you die to earn your keep. What's going on in the rest of the world has nothing to do with you.

So when Rachel starts talking about past events, she is either reminding these people or teaching them something they never knew in the first place. "This thing happened a long time ago and we have this thing happening now. They're the same. This isn't new. It's happened before." She knows how to break it down in simple terms and make it interesting so her audience can understand and know. (So does Kornacki for that matter, though he sometimes muddles it with unconnected facts.) That's why Rachel has such a huge following. Remember the old lady who lost her shit when Rachel wasn't on?

by Anonymousreply 455November 30, 2023 8:59 PM

Joy has a gay daughter and consistently has LGBTQ people on her show, championing the cause and speaking up for the rights of the community. Nevermind the fact that she is highly intelligent and keeps it 100 on all things Trump and MAGA without the tongue-biting that plagues some of her colleagues. Anyone who wants to see her go based off of some decade-old rumor about something she "supposedly" said against the gays is just a racist in sheep's clothing.

by Anonymousreply 456November 30, 2023 9:29 PM

A day ago, I watched CNN’s Jake Tapper diss MSNBC in a discussion about Trump, if he is elected in ‘24, he’ll take revenge on certain media. Tapper stated he didn’t like MSNBC, indicating their reporting is biased.

Tapper the yapper is opinionated as any broadcaster. He may be a Republican. He talks like it.

by Anonymousreply 457November 30, 2023 9:45 PM

I think Tapper IS a ReTHUGlican. It just took Chris Licht to bring it to the forefront.

Intelligent? Perhaps, R456, but to declare Joy Ann Reid "highly" intelligent stretches credulity. A ridiculous caricature whose very appearance is offensive to Black women's dignity, she is little more than a charlatan.

Iimmigrant Blacks such as Joy Ann consider U.S. Blacks inferior due to our ancestors' enslavement. Colonization doesn't register with these first and second generation hypocrites, and she is their media darling. How will they vote in 2024?

by Anonymousreply 462November 30, 2023 11:54 PM

^Immigrant

by Anonymousreply 463November 30, 2023 11:55 PM

R456 Joy may have evolved but she was rightly and truly a troglodyte troller of all things gay. And she went to Harvard so what's her fucking excuse. SHE DIDN'T HAVE AN EXCUSE. It was her true, ugly, pre-evolved mindset. Joy isn't that smart. Her cockamamie lies and evasions were laughable and pathetic. AND SPINELESS.

We all know why Joy Reid is still employed at MSNBC.

by Anonymousreply 466December 1, 2023 12:10 AM

Joy Reid is HIGHLY intelligent, and much to R466’s (and others’) chagrin, she will continue to be employed by MSNBC because of it. Bitterly holding on to things she allegedly said eons ago, when she clearly does not hold those views, says more about many of you than it does about her. And she’s a much more interesting watch than Nicolle, Ari and Rachel, that’s for damn sure.

by Anonymousreply 467December 1, 2023 12:44 AM

Fuck you, R459 and R460 . Who are you to make that judgment? Or are you just judging me in particular? 🤔

R468 Yes.

by Anonymousreply 471December 1, 2023 1:32 AM

by Anonymousreply 472December 1, 2023 2:44 AM

Aside from Morning Joe, MSNBC steers clear of panel shows. Is there one I'm missing, I don't watch daytime after the 1st hour of MJ? I guess there was Velshi & Rhule at one time.

Seems like a logical alternative to lessen the tedium of mediocre singular hosts.

by Anonymousreply 477December 1, 2023 4:22 AM

MSNBC should revive The Circus for Sunday nights. Especially for the coming year.

Joy is a-ok. I loved the AA Texas sassy House rep she had on the other night. She was funny, cute and sassy. Her take on Rethug House members was spot on.

It's about money. Shows with multiple hosts means paying more money to more talent. However, the new weekend morning show will have multiple hosts with Michael Steele, Symone Sanders, and Alicia Menendez. Not sure what the chemistry among the three of them will be like.

by Anonymousreply 485December 1, 2023 1:26 PM

I wonder if they have two internet service providers to be able stream two videos out without problems when people often can't stream just one video out of their homes without problems.

Then Peter Baker shows up on Morning Joe at 7AM guessing he doesn't get a good 8 hours of sleep.

With Alicia Menendez hosting six hours weekly of Deadline White House until Nicolle returns which is expected to be a couple of months plus her own show, what happens if there is major breaking news with her father. Will some other host break in to carry the breaking news while she just sits there and then ignore the breaking news about her father and carry on with the show, this could get very awkward.

That group could make a statement and Mehdi/Yasmin would have their shows back in an instant.

R503 Their egos.

by Anonymousreply 504December 2, 2023 5:04 PM

Maddow has never taken an honest stand about the diversity staffing driven decisions at MSNBC. The hundreds of times she chose to play nice with the Rev Al "Tawana Brawley" Sharpton turned my stomach.

by Anonymousreply 505December 2, 2023 5:15 PM

by Anonymousreply 506December 2, 2023 8:07 PM

Not for nothing, but neighbors and locals don't think as highly of Maddow as her MSNBC viewers do.

by Anonymousreply 507December 2, 2023 8:31 PM

Maddow has never been one to make waves or challenge her bosses. Remember when she insisted she was thrilled that MSNBC had hired Greta Van Susteren? by Anonymousreply 527December 4, 2023 8:30 PM

With the publication of her book, Liz Cheney is this week's very busy media darling.

Always remember: "He's making a list and checking it twice, gotta find out who's naughty or nice -- to his daughter, Liz."

I can't wait to learn what Dick Cheney & Co. has in store for donald; a bull elephant never forgets! Heh heh.

by Anonymousreply 577December 5, 2023 8:55 PM

Geesh R577, we get it you don't like Nicolle Wallace, she laughs are inappropriate times, some people stutter, some people constantly say uh every few words, Joe Scarborough repeats small words multiple times for some reason. by Anonymousreply 578December 5, 2023 9:06 PM

So is Nicolle going to take off for a few months now?

by Anonymousreply 579December 5, 2023 10:01 PM

I haven't seen a thread here on Liz Cheney so I'll leave this here.

I was not really very knowledgeable of her before Jan. 6, but I do greatly admire her for taking a brave stand against Trump and speaking out.

But after watching her in Rachel's and Nicolle's interviews and hearing how intelligent and clear-sighted she apparently is, I just can't imagine how she got through those trials working so closely with Dem colleagues she says she respects and admires, like Jamie Raskin, Zoe Lofgren and Nancy Pelosi, and STILL remain a Republican. How at least some of their liberal views could have not rubbed off on her. I know....I'm naive.

by Anonymousreply 580December 5, 2023 10:09 PM

You are. She said here that she supported most of Trump's issues/causes. If Trump disappears, she'll go on opposing gun control, abortion rights, lower taxes, etc. Not sure how she is on LGBTQ rights, given her sister.

[quote] Wait, when was Nicolle on jury duty? I thought she’s been out because of the new baby.

They were talking about jury duty today on DeadLine White House because apparently the jury questionnaires were received today by some DC residents for what they believe is the Trump trial because the dates matched up and the questionnaires asked that you be available for 3 months. Nicolle said something about she got called for jury duty and didn't get out of it. John Heilemann told that all you have to do is say you are a journalist and they will dismiss you. Nicolle said she did and then said someone else got called at the same time and they went together but I didn't catch the name, closed captioning didn't either. I listened to it again and I think she said Phil Griffin Former president of MSNBC, but Heilemann and Claire were both talking at the same time as Nicolle and it was really hard to hear.

Yes Nicolle is out now because of the baby, this happened a long time ago before Rashida Jones became MSNBC President.

She probably got into the MSNBC car with her nanny, and the nanny watched Izzy in Nic's office for the two hours.

It's not like Nic was wearing a breast pump.

Liz Cheney was on Morning Joe this morning, but I didn't hear a single other host inform their viewers that Liz was going to be on Morning Joe like I did with her being on Rachel and Nicolle. Wonder why.

Joe announced it at the end of his Monday show.

Any word on whether Cheney is making the rounds on right-wing outlets? Is she still welcome on Fox News?

That's the audience that really needs to hear what she has to say.

I'm sure the right-wing outlets have no interest in giving her airtime or promoting her book. Their viewers wouldn't even give her a chance if she did appear. And I'll bet all the people buying her book are Democrats and never-Trumper Republicans who already know that Trump is a danger to democracy. Cheney is preaching to the choir. I don't know if there's any way to change the minds of the MAGA crowd. Maybe, though, her book can help fire up Democrats and never-Trumpers so they turn out to vote instead of staying home.
