Elizabeth Hoffman is DEAD to ME!

May not recognize the name but for about 20ish years she was in a lot, most notably "Sisters" as the girls' mother Bea.

I only remember her from Star Trek, with that horse's bit they stuck in her mouth and that wig that makes her look even more equine. The way they treated these established actresses back then makes me embarrassed to be a Trek fan.

she was Nancy's mother on thirtysomething. In a few episodes.

She looks like she could be Holland Taylor's sister.

I'm sending condolences to her widower, Dustin.

Isn't she the old lady who jumped in the acid lake in Dante's Peak?

Barbra said she cast her in Nuts because she was her neighbor. I wonder if Elizabeth stayed as a neighbor?

She only has 24 entries on her IMDb page...

As a horror fan, I knew her from the bizarre (and very gay) horror flick "Fear No Evil", which she had a leading role in. She was also in "Silent Night Deadly Night III". I had lon wondered if she was still actually alive—I thought she may have died and it went unreported.

Her first credit is in 1980 when she was 53. I wonder what she did before she started acting. You used to see quite a few character actors who got into acting when they were older on film and tv. That wouldn’t/couldn’t happen today.

Hoffman and lookalike Holland Taylor acted together in an L.A. production of the play "Kinderstransport" in the 90s.

She actually died August 21 but her son kept the news a secret until now.
