Mark Goddard has died at 87

He was the only reason I watched "Lost on Space"

I bet a lot of Boomer gays had crushes on him. RIP.

I used to have a big crush on him. He ended up with a masters in education, and teaching and living in Massachusetts just a town away from where I lived. I was really let down when he did an interview for a local radio station and seemed really dull and homophobic talking about Dr. Smith........oh well RIP

OP Lost on Space? Which row on the eye chart mystifies you?

Has Marta Kristen commented?

Mark Goddard was a dreamboat on Lost in Space and was a wonderful actor.

With his death and the passing of Phyllis Coates, I am starting to really feel every minute of my sixty years.

He was probably my very first crush. Like R2, I ended up with mixed feelings after reading one of his memoirs. He came across as a bit of a jerk. But he was one totally hot piece of ass in his prime -and his prime lasted much longer than many other people's.

I really thought he'd outlive June Lockhart, but she is fortunately still with us, along with Bill Mumy, Marta Kristen, and Angela Cartwright.

Oh JFC Dr Smith, Will & the Robot made that show.

All respect to Mr Goddard, but he was a supporting actor and he played a rather rigid one dimensional character.

Although a lifelong LIS and Mark/Major Don West fan, I was actually surprised to realize only a few years back that Mark was in his 80s. For some reason, maybe because he always seemed so young and agile on that show, I'd really thought he was only a 20-something during the show's 1960s heyday. Safe travels, Major West! :(

Phyllis Coates was 96 years old. You should cut yourself a little slack.
