She has been. through. it. Two series that she left or was fired from or didn't stay on (Nancy Drew and Dynasty), Playboy, and unsurprisingly ending up doing theatre and yoga in the mountains. Is she nuts or did she just run with the wrong peopel. She's had plenty of work done, look at that neck, it's just long ago and it hasn't been touched up. It's not Valerie Harper her work reminds me of, it's a little closer to Tina Louise.

The rumor when she left Dynasty was she had a coke problem. She looked terrible in her last season-gaunt, like her hair was falling out at the time.

From what I remember, PSM really didn’t like the industry or Hollywood lifestyle, as R25 said.

She really was great as Fallon (and as Nancy Drew). Emma Samms was so miscast.

They should have just moved Fallon away, brought Emma on as Amanda, and let her run with that.

PSM suffered from cystitis and hair loss through most of her time on Dynasty. I heard she wanted off the show two years in, but stayed. Given her health issues and her loathing the fast lane lifestyle that came with the show, it’s a miracle she made it four years.

R49 I heard Montgomery was offered the Colbys, the role Katharine Ross ended up playing. She very well might’ve been offered Dynasty too. Montgomery loved playing bitches, and I would’ve loved to have seen her as Sable, or even Alexis. Stephanie Beacham gets a lot of adoration for Sable, and while she was good, I thought casting another British bitch was too on the nose. Liz would’ve brought it!

I’m surprised Elizabeth Montgomery wanted to do a prime time soap. Robert Foxworth hated doing Falcon Crest so he probably came home to her and bitched about the quality of the show.

They might have offered her Colbys too but they wanted her as Krystle. Bad. She was choice one.

In all fairness every replacement or even PSM herself would have sucked given the material that was written for Fallon. For the Colbys the character was the exact opposite of what it used to be. And who can possibly play with a straight face being abducted by aliens? When the producers changed for the last season of Dynasty they brought back some of the original character, and Samms handled the new/old Fallon quite well.
