It’s a good thing there are communities free of women for men to enjoy.

They got the job through the exchange of their well worn flesh for the opportunity to be on television. After they age out of the game, they claim to be victims and survivors of abuse.

It began with Jessica Savitch, Newsreaders and not journalists.

The most laughable example is ESPN, which features several football programs with an all-woman cast talking about what each team needs to win the game. Funny that they all look like they would have been college cheerleaders. Or the sideline blonde Barbies whose most probing questions are," How do you feel?" Or, " Coach, you are down by 40 pts at the half. How do you think things went?" Or, " Will the loss of your Heisman candidate qb affect your team?"

Man, I thought it was just me! Where's the investigative reporting? The grown up news? The airhead women are the worst. Not so much in a big city like Chicago but when visiting family in Michigan or Oklahoma everythng is thrown on cheap And reporting on goody two shoes stories

R3 why the hate on Jessica Savitch? Because a taped outtake surfaced of her pointing up a network's nickel and dime production value has outlived her accomplishments by many decades? Savitch cut her teeth in the same newsroom as Dan Rather (KHOU Houston) and did what most broadcast journalist grads today do: learned the intricacies of the trade from the veterans she worked with and honed her style and appearance as a communicator. She made it to NBC and was the first narrator of the PBS documentary series Frontline.

Almost all TV newspeople are now hired for their model looks. Male and female. Not for journalistic prowess.

R14, Savitch was well known as a brilliant newsreader but a horrible reporter. She was taken off every beat she was placed on because of her inadequate coverage. It became total style over substance yet the audiences always responded to her because of her authoritative style. She might have been great on something like ET or a tabloid show, but when she had to think quickly on her feet or do an interview, she was lost.

I fear its a low bar for every profession. A friend went to a heart specialist recently, who I kinda know. My friend said he could see the Dr was tired and hungover and we both meet this DR out high on drugs. He's early 30s and drugs are just viewed the way we viewed alcohol. But there isn't that sane pride in your job or responsibility. In some ways its a good thing, why should we Have to work so long and hard; is that why we're on this earth? But millennials and Gen z are lacking in a lot of ways and of course these same people hold these jobs. In a way they just aren't grownups, in the historical sense of the word.

And these newscaster women have nobody to blame but themselves. Nobody forces them to take the jobs and wear the ridiculously revealing and distracting one-piece nightclubbing outfits they all sport nowadays. And it is a double-standard: I know quite a lot of viewers attracted to that stuff who tune in just to watch them, but how about we get for us gays a lot more of what I think should be the relative equivalent from the hot male newscasters: Very unbuttoned or sleeveless shirts and tight pants over very muscular bodies? If the stations are gonna do it, and the bimbo/as will accept being treated and viewed that way, then let's make it equal-rights. :)

A local newsreader suddenly quit with no notice. The station website did not specify the cause of the departure and there was no announcement made on air. She's a single parent, according to her social media accounts and takes exotic vacations without her kids and without the income from having a job...........
