There's polling that shows that once living in the west, a large percentage of Muslims leave their faith or become less active in it. Roughly two-thirds of U.S. Muslims (65%) say religion is very important in their lives. About six-in-ten (59%) report praying at least daily and 43% say they attend religious services at least weekly. In other words, even if a lot of Muslims are raised in religious households, many of those will ultimately quit attending services. (Close to half). So I think posters such as r10 are only half right. Religious Muslims are probably less likely to assimilate, but non-religious ones are very likely to.
