The 8 News Now Investigators reached out to Keys’ mother by phone. She initially hung up and then responded to a text message stating her family was not making any statements or addressing any accusations without their legal team.

“My son’s side of the story will be told, ‘the truth,’ not the inaccuracies the media will try to portray,” the text read.

Turns out the Aussie student wasn't blond but was attending college in Oklahoma.

I bicycle everywhere - have a car but hate driving. First, these two teens are human garbage. Utter piles of rotting shit. Second, I am always concerned when I bike. I do have drivers swerve to "punish pass" me. They also pull out in front of me, yell, and throw trash. But my primary concern is all the drivers on their fucking phones. Texting, face timing, not paying any attention. And here in the suburbs, they all have these monster suvs and trucks, so could easily hit me and barely know. But drivers who intentionally terrorize cyclists need to rot someplace for a very long time.

R53 I knew a guy who was killed by a distracted driver while changing the tire of his pickup truck on the shoulder of a two-lane highway. Needless to say, I‘d call triple-A and wait outside my car a safe distance from traffic if my car was disabled on the shoulder. Also, my days of bike riding on city streets ended when cell phones became popular. I think anyone cycling in the streets today has a death wish.
