“One Bad Apple” (1970)- anyone else remember this #1 hit by The Osmonds?

This came out long before I was born but as a kid I was always introduced to “old” music by my parents. At the time I didn’t appreciate it but now as an adult I’m thankful I was always surrounded by different types of music from different times. I’ve always loved music and it’s a part of my life. I couldn’t imagine not having music. I would hear music that ranged from The Jackson 5, Madonna, Barry White, The Supremes, The Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band, Richard Marx, Meat Loaf, Tina Turner etc.

Anyway, my mom LOVED Donny Osmond. She still does. Because of this I knew who he was and discovered the family and their music etc. she used to watch Donny and Marie in the 90s even. I discovered this song and loved it. What a great pop hit. I thought it was The Jackson 5 originally but it was The Osmonds. I was shocked!!! What a great song. Anyone else remember it? I woke up today and this song was on my brain for some reason.

OP the song was written for Jackson 5, which is probably why it sounds so much like a J5 song. They had to pass on it so it went to The Osmonds and boom, they had their very first song on the charts, and not only did they finally have a song land on the charts, it was a #1 hit for them!

I was in 5th grade and was in a play called Murdoch's Wrath. We played elves and at one point he elf king commanded everyone to dance. It was a huge song at the time and we danced to the 45.

I never heard this. It’s actually quite good. I’m actually impressed with them as dancers. They were on point and in sync the entire time. No one was off at all, everyone was perfectly in sync.

Yes, I was also impressed with the song and their dancing. Didn't know white Mormon kids could move like that!

I'd forgotten how boy band they were.

Poor little Jimmy could never keep his weight down. Even after he starved himself he'd have carbface.

It looks like the Silk blondes may have introduced young Jimmy to coke just before that number was filmed.

Jimmy Osmond looks like a fag to me.
