Fun to see all the soap stars who guested. Jim Houghton from Y&R was so cute, and never got a decent role. Barbara Parkins was a huge ABC star from the 60's and Peyton Place, another who never got a 2nd good long running role.

That led to Knots Landing after Hotel.

R96 -the series has two black actors as regulars - Nathan Cook and Shari Belafonte.

Do shows still have a guest star play different roles over the run of the series? Tom Bosley plays a hotel worker in season two and a guest in season three.

It seems to have been more common in the earlier days of television, and was still being done in the 80s, on The Golden Girls for example.

I can’t think of any shows that do it now, though I don’t watch much series television these days.

Everyone is posed so stiffly and weird in the Season 4 openings. The relaxed looks and smiles from Season 1 have been replaced by Constipated Maximum Drama poses.

Also they keep tinkering with the theme's arrangement. Mancini must have been pissed. I assumed they didn't bring him in every year for an update. The first season's theme is so lovely.

A lot if the guest stars appear over and over again (Mary Crosby is shown for Seasons 1, 2 3). We're the actors playing the same character every time they showed up?

Hotel is weird because although the format was essentially "Love Boat," it has this dark, sleazy undercurrent that makes viewers sometimes feel in need of a Silkwood shower.

The pilot features the brutal rape of hooker Morgan Fairchild, and Robert Reed plays a man who's molesting his very young stepdaughter! No, thanks. I mean I'm just trying to enjoy some '80s cheese, here. No need for the lurid histrionics.

But r128, all Aaron's shows helped to "shine a light" on hidden issues and "increase awareness" of them!
