“The Cover of Rolling Stone” (1972) by Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show

Ray Sawyer of the group Dr Hook & The Medicine Show, I had no idea he was married from 1969 to when he died in 2018 and has a son. I always thought he was a closet gay. He was always so overly flamboyant while performing live. But that could have just been for fun or a character he was playing on stage.

As for their hits, they had a handful that I was always was confused by, but whatever.

After this song came out Rolling Stone put them on the cover...as cartoons, lol. They were high A LOT. I like their music and Ray Sawyer was quite a character. He lost his eye in a car accident on his way from Kentucky to the pacific NW to work as a logger. He met Dennis who was from Canada and they decided to try music. It worked out pretty well for a while.
