A night in my life

I was a 16 yr old, spoiled child. One evening around 7 pm, I decided to steal my mom’s Oldsmobile 98, drive to a city an hour away, rent a hotel room (using my credit card). Nothing to do on a boring Monday night. Nothing on TV. The gravity of what I did began to set in and I felt guilty. I called 911 and told the dispatcher that I was depressed and alone in a hotel room and thinking about ending it all. Within 5 minutes the police were in my room, since I was a minor. I had a nice chat with 2 cute policemen about how I had my whole life ahead of me stuff. My dad shows up soon after and stays with me until morning. We drive home the next day. Mom is unimpressed. I go get my hair done later in the day.

What a cool cat you were, OP. So generous to others, never thinking of yourself. At 15 I created an free three week art fair and school for teens and got corporate sponsorship. I ran it three summers then went to Brown so I could get a good degree and also study art at RISD.

Well aren’t you the lucky one, r2

by Anonymousreply 3September 18, 2023 12:11 AM

You "got your hair 'done,'" OP?

Are you a woman?

by Anonymousreply 4September 18, 2023 12:14 AM

I imagine you haven't had many "lucky breaks" well the reality is your humorless snottyassed story shows your despicable character. Luck doesn't have much to do with it.

by Anonymousreply 5September 18, 2023 12:15 AM

You shouldn’t share that story,OP. It really does highlight a character deficit.

by Anonymousreply 6September 18, 2023 12:24 AM

Funny, I was thinking the same thing about r2.

by Anonymousreply 7September 18, 2023 12:27 AM

I had extreme hair at 16. Bright red and kind of punky

by Anonymousreply 8September 18, 2023 12:30 AM

R5 why can’t you give me the respect that I deserve! why can’t you give me give the same respect that I could get from any stranger on the street?!!

by Anonymousreply 9September 18, 2023 12:33 AM

R5 go blow it out of your ditty bag

by Anonymousreply 10September 18, 2023 12:34 AM

I’ve seen Coal Miner’s Daughter on TV

by Anonymousreply 11September 18, 2023 12:42 AM

Thanks for sharing, R11.

by Anonymousreply 12September 18, 2023 12:50 AM

Like your mom OP, I am unimpressed.

0/10

OP what drives you to post so many ongoing stupid posts, and reply to yourself over and over. I really wish things were better for you.

by Anonymousreply 14September 18, 2023 12:56 AM

This reminds me of something that happened back in St. Olaf!

by Anonymousreply 15September 18, 2023 12:57 AM

R14 I really wish you’d start licking my ass so I could have a modicum of satisfaction this evening

by Anonymousreply 16September 18, 2023 1:44 AM

stupid story

by Anonymousreply 17September 18, 2023 1:47 AM

It’s true bitch ass I’m sorry it didn’t rivet and evoke entertainment to your crotch

by Anonymousreply 18September 18, 2023 1:49 AM

R2 That sounds like it was meant to be for you. Are you still doing art?

by Anonymousreply 19September 18, 2023 1:55 AM

I did something kind of similar. My dad's car didn't need a key to start it, so me and my friend pushed it out to the street and drove to a farm where people paid to stable their horses. It wasn't far maybe 2 miles out on the backroads. We saddled 2 horses and rode them until 4:00 am. We had a little pot and some Whiskey. It was beautiful, the moon was out and it was kind of cold. We were just 16. It was fun, and we didn't get caught. This was 1978.

Somebody needed to slap the stupid right outta you.

by Anonymousreply 21September 18, 2023 1:58 AM

You tried and failed, MeeMaw

by Anonymousreply 22September 18, 2023 2:01 AM

This reads like a passage from a Bret Easton Ellis book.

[quote]Are you a woman?

Not biologically.

by Anonymousreply 24September 18, 2023 4:46 AM

Chilling prose, similar to the opening chapter of The Stranger.

by Anonymousreply 25September 18, 2023 4:58 AM

I could take cold showers everyday and throw my life away

by Anonymousreply 26September 18, 2023 10:30 PM

Stuck here in the airport

by Anonymousreply 27September 19, 2023 7:09 PM

Stuck in the mud - fuck that!

by Anonymousreply 28September 19, 2023 7:10 PM

What year was the Oldsmobile? Beautiful cars, but the models around 1990 were a little plain. Sales slowed, and they didn't maintain an appeal for younger buyers. The last Olds rolled off the line in 2004 ending a 107 year run of a rather well produced car. P. S. Glad things turned out well for you, and that you had the decency to steal your moms Olds!

Hotels won't rent to anyone under 21.

by Anonymousreply 30September 19, 2023 7:39 PM

It was a 1985 or 1986. My mom’s. I didn’t really want it I just was trying to make a rebellious statement that night It was full sized - big.
