Including the "articulate" Jerry Garcia and not Little Richard, the actual architect of rock and roll, would seem to be an unforced error. I saw the Tina Turner documentary and can assure you that a 40-year-veteran of rock was also plenty articulate.

Nothing new about Wenner, we been knew. This is from a New Yorker book review in 2017:

"Wenner boldly published some of the best and most interesting New Journalists of the last fifty years, even if—and by now, anyone who writes regularly about the Western canon is resigned to how this sentence ends—most of them were deeply troubled white men who also engaged in wildly sexist or otherwise bigoted behavior."

The morals and ethics of the white musicians don't matter. He said the blacks and women can't "articulate" on the same level, which is utterly false.
